So being good enough for…

So being good enough for only a foray in the big show?

I'll see myself out now.

How quickly you forget the…

How quickly you forget the Saginaw Sting (Indoor Football League) also won a championship in the 2000s.

Holy Shit, I never knew that…

Holy Shit, I never knew that side of the UNC story. If you extrapolate a little more you could make the supposition that a kid without ADHD, who now has an unneeded source of highly sought after drugs, just got gifted both an academic exemption and a pretty significant new revenue stream.

Hey fellow counselor!  Where…

Hey fellow counselor!  Where at if I might ask?

And holds up amazingly well…

And holds up amazingly well considering it's 25 years old.

For purely a choice that isn…

For purely a choice that isn't Webber, Tarpley, Rice, Burke, Rose (the guys that I think most would gravitate to), I'm going to go with Terry Mills.  Stretch 4 player that would have been perfect for Coach B.

The second time I simmed it,…

The second time I simmed it, OSU won 44-3, and I felt sick.  Michigan won easily all the other 7 or 8 clicks though.  That pretty much sums up how I feel about the Game this year, we should win, barring that one in ten game where everything goes wrong.

On the topic of the banners…

On the topic of the banners I've always been amazed in looking comparatively at a school like UCLA.  They hang all their banners proudly, even when the benefits provided by Sam Gilbert and others are openly known.  The argument was made in an article I read a while back "Sam Gilbert made UCLA's teams ineligible, but not better."  The F5 won those banners on the court, throw a big ole asterisk on em if you want, but they earned them on the court.

They sure do, because they…

They sure do, because they're excellent technicians, know the game and make it work for them.

Ride a Rollercoaster

Seriously, it's a thing.

Rutgers

Let there be blood.

Tech to UM on Evans Scholarship

Correct, Josh was headed to Tech to play safety, but he earned an Evans Scholarship and took the opportunity to come to UofM. He had to forego last year since he since the NLI to Tech. Fantastic, really smart kid. He'd be a safety like his teammate Tru Wilson who also was a PWO last year.

Corley, Scott, King

For a minute I thought the daughter of a Civil Rights leader was being kicked off the team.

I'm pretty sure

I'm pretty sure that is against MHSAA rules as well.  Not positive but I remember this being a big deal that was brought up after the Div. 8 state championship a few years back when the winning coach admitted to bringing back guys.

Silence

A little irony perhaps?

OLL-DLS

Always root for my alma mater the Our Lady of the Lakes Lakers as a perennial Div. 8 power.

And root for my boys, the DeLa Salle Pilots where I work!

Stritz

As someone who knows Allen, he is hurt. He sat out rehabbing and tweaked it again in the CC game in which he played the first half of. And the stuff about transferring is bs, at least to my knowledge. He does like UM and they are his admitted leader, but we certainly aren't a "lock" for him. He's pretty undecided at the moment.

DLS-OLSM

Don't forget 2 State Champions from last year are also going at it tonight at 7 in DLS and OLSM.  DLS will likely be without Stritzinger, but should be a great game nonetheless!

27-16

Michigan

Pontiac Northern 2000s

In person the best team I've ever seen were the early 2000s (maybe '01-'03) PN teams featuring Ricky Morgan, Lester Abram, Derrick Ponder, and the likes.  Morgan was so ridiculously fast up the floor, Ponder was a banger, and we're all familiar with the caliber of player Abram was when he was feeling it.  Fun to watch.

Foodtruck

I am overjoyed by this news, but my personal preference was for the creation of the Blimpy Food Truck.  It would have been glorious.

Scorched Earth

Not many modern military campaigns have ever been quite as brutally effective as that MFer.  That man understood how to win/end a war.

Impressive Play

Really impressive display of Bale's physical talent, but an insane goal?  The goal itself is nice, but nothing stellar.  It was a breakaway and he slotted it as any good goal scorer should.  The run, the stage, those are all top notch.  8 out of 10 for the entire run of play.

Isn't about injury

It's not so much about injury, which insurance can cover (somewhat) as you mention.  The NBA draft is a very selective process with huge guaranteed contracts in the top 15, pretty solid contracts in the later 15, and nothing guaranteed after that, and they get paid substantially less. The almost irresistible draw to jump early comes from stock reports of where kids will get drafted.  Stock varies so much and can drop in an instant with a injury that can "worry" scouts, a few bad games, a perceived flaw that gets exposed, or anything else, so if guys get a top 15 grade they have to seriously consider it.  The NBA is 99% of these kids dream job and is financially a jaw dropper for most people so I don't care how much he loves UM, happiness awaits in the NBA too.

10 Years War

10 Years War is pretty good about Woody and Bo and developing UM-OSU into the rivalry we know today.

So you're saying

So you're saying he can beat you in moe ways than one....?

I'll see myself out.

No

I have the Roku1.  It's awesome, but really the amount of free streaming is not a ton.  We mostly use Netflix to watch everything.  I have the Watch ESPN station, and I was able to watch the bowl game realtime (in Spanish, the English stream required a cable sub).  You can watch anything on ESPN 3 realtime, but if it's a primetime ESPN game, you have to wait for it to end before it's available (unless you "borrow" someone's cable info).  Anything on BTN is totally unavailable to my knowledge.  I've only had it less than a month though, so I'm new to it as well.

Interesting fact

I just learned that OSUs Fischer School of Business is named after Ross' uncle, the also quite successful Max Fischer. What a savvy, philanthropic family.

Juggalos

That was unexpected.  Although the Juggalo episode of Workaholics is all I could think of, and is a work of pure genius.

Don't

You don't need any evidence. Don't engage because you can't convince people when they think they've been screwed. Let them piss and moan and you enjoy our boys in Blue playing on Monday.

GRIII=LeBron

In the Finals a few years ago against the Mavs....

Supremely talented, but just lost.

Reputation

I tend to think that what teams/players get away with is like 40% reputation, 15% crowd influence, 10% game situation influence, and 35% actual rules of basketball.

MSU and OSU have a reputation as defensive squads so I think will get away with some of the same stuff.

My Daughter

Listening intermittently to either the cooing or intense crying of my 4 day old daughter. It's the best thing I've heard.

Amateur Ornathology

Songbirds.

Slight Edge

I give the slight edge for Musburger's Most Uncomfortable Moment to when he noted that AJ and Barrett were having a "lover's quarrel" and then quickly chuckle and covered his tracks, "just kidding you two."

Laker alumni

As a proud alumni of Lakes I was excited to see my former school featured in the FBO, even if on the opposing end.  I'm not terribly surprised by Malik's numbers.  Lakes is a perennial D-8 title contender, but simply doesn't have the kind of bodies to stop someone of Malik's size/ability.  I doubt many teams do.

Elephant

I'm just going to bring up the Elephant in the Room, Calhoun had a serious issue with his nervous "readjustment" twitch. It was seriously a problem.

1995 Northwestern

Biakabutaka vs Autry. Didn't end so well for good guys, but I was sold that ole "Touchdown Tim" was just about my favorite player ever.  I was also stunned because I had been informed that Northwestern wasn't good.

Flip Flopper

The people (I know several) who grew up Michigan fans, ended up going to State and are now not just State fans, but the overzealous, eyes clouded over, zombie leaders of the State fans that post pictures of Bell & Gholston hourly, and do that stupid #fiveinarow or #rosebowl2012 crap.  They can't talk about MSU without mentioning Michigan, which bugs me beyond belief.  I get that you support your alma mater now rather than your childhood favorite, but the gigantic chip on the shoulder thing from a former fan always gets me.

I participate in healthy banter for a few weeks in October, and again during basketball season but other than that I have no ill will towards MSU and usually root for them.  However the above mentioned fans make me want them to basically become Northwestern (without the academics of course).

Hungry

Denard is hungry

Still not full from Sugar Bowl

He gon' eat all day.
