Since I do a fair amount of sports medicine for cyclists and runners , I know a few people who know Betsy and she's an incredible person.  When Lance started attacking her is when I knew he was lying.   Plus, we gotta side with fellow Michigan grads.

Growing up in Rochester…

Growing up in Rochester Hills, MI, my brother and I  definitely remember watching it live on a Canadian TV station (God Bless Canada's love of hockey).   I do think it was CTV.  We still watched the replay on ABC later that night and it was so much fun to watch it knowing the score.  Bill Bonds didn't ruin it for us.

I was XC skiing on a long downhill lately and did about 4:45 mile.  It struck me that runners like these two are going faster than that!

On another sad running note, RIP to Kelvin Kiptum.  I was thinking he was going to be the first to break a 2 hr marathon

It's freaking amazing and using a treadmill is a great way to really get a sense of how fast these guys are going.  I always love this video of people trying to go 200 M at Kipchoge's pace

Good hire for them and great to see him take on this new challenge!   Plus I gotta think that having more coaches with Michigan ties in the NFL can only be an advantage for us

For me personally, felt pretty strong doing my first XC skiing race out here in Tahoe.   24 K with over 1700 feet of climbing

From a sports standpoint

1) Stoked to see Sinner get his first grand slam.

2) Jesse Diggins winning a 20K skate race and leading the women's WC standings.

That's a good point between their styles.  However, given that Brian brought up the Stanford/Shaw on the podcast and in one of his posts as what what our future might be looking like , I'm not sure why it's a lazy example

That's kind of my point.  There's recency bias with Shaw but I'd be stoked if Moore could match what Shaw did in his first 7-8 years

Out of all the plays, this year, Moore's tackle is  the one I think I've watched the most.  It's a quietly incredible play.  If we had a mere mortal back there, Milroe scores.

Loved middle linebacker Paul…

Loved middle linebacker Paul Naumoff, mostly because he lived in our neighborhood was my basketball coach in either 5th or 6th grade in Rochester Hills. He was one of the best coaches I had- everyone played, he designed all sorts of crazy trick plays and the goal was to have fun.  Kind of the opposite of how you'd think a Detroit Lions linebacker would be as a coach. https://www.detroitlions.com/news/o-hara-remembering-paul-naumoff

Never got to see him but my dad took care of Gil Mains so we had some stuff he signed around our house

yep- renovations I'm good with, just don't like the name.  When I was there in the 80s/90's,  the lighting and seating always felt like a bad run down movie theater.

Moore's stop in OT is still a thing of underrated beauty.

WSU scared the crap out of…

WSU scared the crap out of me as a 10-1 team and in the top 10.  Plus, IMHO, we still had a Rose Bowl curse that we were fighting against.  Ryan Leaf, at the time, was on par with Peyton Manning.  Looking back, it was sort of how I felt going into the Washington game facing Penix. Since we were also down twice in the game, it seemed monumental that we came back to win it.

We were living in Madison at…

We were living in Madison at the time and went to that Michigan/Wisconsin game.  I was nervous because we had gone to the 1993 game where they beat us followed by the  the Camp Randall stampede/crush.   Woodson was a beast in 1997 (almost had a TD pass to Griese).  We had tickets right by the Michigan tunnel.   After the win, there was very little celebration- you could tell the team was on a business trip, they got their job done and they were already focus on OSU.  You're right- those weren't best ever games but they were incredibly satisfying.

I want to spend some time…

I want to spend some time savoring this one but shouldn't the 1997 team have at least one of their games on that top 5 list?  Their wins over OSU and Wash St were huge (and I'd argue their win at Wisconsin the week before OSU was one of the best "avoid the trap game" wins I've ever seen from a Michigan team).

My wife and I were laughing because my social media feed is full of ads for Michigan gear where they are literally just "putting a Block M on it".

I felt so bad for the kid on…

I felt so bad for the kid on game day.  Once I read his twitter post about entering the portal, I was heartbroken for him.  We all make mistakes during our lives, but for kids this age, it's devastating when they happen in a huge game on National TV.  In my e-mail sign off I have the Miles Davis quote "If you hit a wrong note, it's the next note you play that determines if it's good or bad".  Jake had a mistake  but his second note was absolutely perfect.

If I were Harbaugh, I might reach out to Chris Webber and have Webber give him a call.
