Is still a great QB, just needs more refinement. Besides, I personally feel that Dilfer always have it out for the guys with more talent than he had. Most of the non elite 11 associated guys that were there ranked him at or near the top of their lists.
Is anyone else a little surprised at how "low" Shane Morris is ranked. I am not saying I think he should be higher or lower but more to the fact of how hyped has been by all sites, especially ESPN. I was expecting him to be top 20 at least, if not higher. Again I am not saying I think he should be especially given his Dallas eliete 11 showing, just surprised he is not.
I must say that I have to agree. I just had this conversation with my cousin yesterday. Much like RR, I think that JB and his 1-3-1 zone has never been a fit in the big ten. And as for recruiting, he leaves a lot to be desired. He has never brought in a top recruit, or at least a decent big man, which IMO is essential to win in the big 10.

<br>I hat to bring this up, but look at OSU. When Thad matta was hired they were in about the same or worse shape than we were/are and his second year brought in the number 1 or 2 recruiting class, and has continued to bring in top recruits and compete on a national level.

<br>I think that this year would be the time to make a move. We have some good young talent that a great recruiter could come in and add to. Imagine this team 1-2 years down the road with an older/more experienced hardaway/Morris with a dominant big man added to the mix.

You know this to be true? You've actually sat down with each coach and had philosophical discussions about the art of coaching college football and came away with the impression that RR was far more talented of a coach?

<br>It cracks me up how everyone acts like they know all about BH when before last week many of us have never heard of him or even knew that he ha coached at Michigan before. I don't know if he's a good coach or not, but I'm at least willing to find out, cause right now that's all we've got.
I personally believe it has been hoke all along and the miles thing was just to satisfy that faction of the boosters/alum, so DM met with him and made him an offer he couldn't deal with so now it's on LM and not himself that he is not the next coach. No insight here just my 2 cents FWIW.
I for one am glad that it's over, and the Michigan community can move on. He would have been great here, but would have bolted for the NFL eventually.

<br>As much as everyone wants a big name, I for one think Brady Hoke is the man. I have not heard anyone (except the people on this board) say anything bad about him. All I've heard is how great of a coach he is from people who know a lot more about football than I even pretend to know. I live in Columbus and I know that OSU fans were NOT excited when JT was hired. That has worked out pretty well.
That's because he recruits 3 and low 4 star players and makes them feel like they are all 5 stars (not that I put a lot of stock in the whole evaluation process), of course they're gonna love him and have faith in him. Plus by all accounts he is a really nice guy.
I am not so sure it would have worked out. Maybe it's the system, but if you watch Pryor, he is BAD on designed runs. Most of his long runs happens when he slips a tackle in the backfield, breaks contain and sprints down the sideline with his 4.3 speed for big yardage. IMO he is not a creative runner and is also not very good in space, lacking the ability to make people miss, which is basically what our whole system is predicated on. Yeah maybe we would have won a couple more games the last few years, but I think we are much better off with denard. OSU would probably have the same record without pryor. They have a lot of good skill guys on that team who are kind of limited because of Pryor.
Im still scratching my head on why they hired greg robinson in the first place. Look at his track record, he has NEVER had a dominate defense. Are you telling me HE was the best guy we could get?
Denard has a great arm against crappy competition when he is throwing to wide open receivers, however he struggles mightily when he actually has to make any kind of read and decide what to do with the ball. i believe and hope that this will come with time, but lets face it he is NEVER gonna be a great passer. We are better as an offense if he throws the ball 15-18 times a game. And is it just me or does he not do a very good job of scrambling. Most of his big runs come on designed runs or read-options.
Enough is enough for me with the injuries. Why is it that we ALWAYS seem to have significant injuries. I thought that with RR coming in and the focus he seemed to place on S&C that we would greatly improve in this, but sadly that has not happened. Is it cause we now recruit the smaller/quicker players who can not hold up physically or is it still something fundamentally with our S&C program? It just seems to me that you don't see this many injury problems at other top notch programs around the country.
