Thanks.  I had tried

Thanks.  I had tried ExpressVPN which most internet sites (Netflix, Amazon Video) saw through.  Probably just need to try a few others.

I'm in New Zealand, so I assume you mean "the one ring."

I may need to start one in Auckland - if I can find one that will open at 4 a.m. Sundays for noon Saturday games.

I wondered if last week's Sherlock was knocking The Prestigue when Sherlock said, "It's never twins!" and Watson replied "What about a secret twin?"

The Portland Alumni Club put a great design together for the same scholarship raising purpose: http://portlandumclub.annarbortees.com.

Hood, Hail, Harbaugh... Can't be a coincidence.

Online sales partners?

Folks in OR (and elsewhere) are asking about online sales. Shirts are currently only sold at game gatherings in Portland. Any suggestions on a site people could custom order them from one at a time? Especially if you also could order long sleeve variations, etc. Catch is profits after that site's still need to go to Portland's scholarship fund. Thx.

Heh, sorry brother.  You do

Heh, sorry brother.  You do the work because you love the work, not for clicks; remember that.

GAH!

GAH!

Couldn't agree more.  Feels

Couldn't agree more.  Feels like we play them all the time.  How about an interesting ACC opponent that would generate national attention like, oh, I don't know, NOTRE DAME?!

This explains a lot,

This explains a lot, especially why you're focusing on the availability of legal jobs (which I still think you're overstating) and not the quality of legal jobs.  If your monthly loan payment is almost two grand (i.e., around $24K a year), and the job you're lucky enough to get in non-Big Law pays anywhere from $45K to $80K pre-tax, then you're somewhere between lower middle class and maybe just slightly more than paycheck-to-paycheck.  And that's if you're single with no dependents.

"Willing to bet?"  I second

"Willing to bet?"  I second the experience of someone who disagrees with you about the value of career services.  Look, I'm sure you're a nice guy.  Maybe you work for a law school or otherwise have a dog in this fight.  That's fine.  But you don't need to shill for them when you're not actually on the job.  I work for clients I don't like, because I need to make a living, too (especially after all that debt).  But I don't do that work for free.

The ABA is to law students

The ABA is to law students what the NCAA is to student athletes.  I'm exaggerating a little, but only a little.  The ABA's lax oversight and speedy credentialing of new law schools, which make universities money while flooding the market with law school graduates who haven't even been trained in the actual practice of law, remains a huge part of the problem.

State and local budgets are

State and local budgets are stretched extremely thin.  And a lot of people want to be ADAs or public defenders.  Don't expect those jobs to be available.  I had my first kid five years after graduating, and I still worry about money for her.  That's despite getting a law firm job that paid well right out of law school.  Also, the older you get, the less marketable you become.  So even if you get that firm job, they push you out after some number of years if you don't make partner.  And very few do.  So then what?

How to write and file a

How to write and file a complaint.  How to perform discovery.  How to depose a witness.  Motions to make before, during, and after trial.  How to draft a contract.  How to facilitate a business transaction, such as a merger or acquisition.  I learned none of these things in law school.  I learned all of them in my years of working for law firms.  I just don't know how people who start solo practices do it.

The problem is so-called "law

The problem is so-called "law schools" don't teach students how to practice law.  Call them "Writing and Analysis Schools," and I wouldn't call them a scam.  With a more accurate name, I probably wouldn't have been suckered by the word "law" and my top 20 school's inflated job and grad income stats into paying well more than $100K to become a better writer.

Law school is an effing racket

Thank god this isn't for real.  My wife and I are the better part of a decade out and are still paying an extra monthly rent in law school debt payments.  It affects every decision we make, and it wasn't worth it.  And we were among those lucky few to get immediately employed in jobs that paid well enough.  Stay far away from this scam, young Wolverines.

Coach needs your votes!

Current leaderboard has Coach Beilein and his charity at 3% in 8th place.  By contrast, Iowa State is 1st with 23%, Painter's Purdue is 2nd with 14%, and Turgeon's Maryland is 6th with 4%.  We win Every Day Should Be Saturday's charity drive each year, so there's no reason we shouldn't also win this.

Remember when Freep did real news?

So Freep went from being a sports tabloid (Practicegate) to being tabloid tabloid (student with celebrity parent), justifying it all because there's a Michigan hook? Pathetic. They must be getting really desperate.

This

Seriously, what's so wrong with the DOE conducting an investigation to get some answers?  It's irrelevant who's responsible for the complaint.  I, like a great many Michigan students, alumni, and fans want to know whether this serious matter was handled properly.  And the University just hasn't been forthcoming.  If the DOE can get some answers so we can know one way or the other, then it will ultimately put this to rest.  And if the DOE finds impropriety by the University, then we'll suffer the consequences but finally be able to move on.

Trying to forget it.

Trying to forget it.

If the way Gardner's core has

If the way Gardner's core has held up over the past few weeks is any indication, then yes, he has.

I hear ya guy.

I hear ya guy.

I quickly read that first

I quickly read that first sentence as, "Jason Whitlock is both fascinating and terribly disturbing if not also very sad."

Go Blue and a thank you to

Go Blue and a thank you to you and your brothers and sisters in arms, my friend.

And in exchange McGary joins

And in exchange McGary joins the football team for the rest of November, right?

Although I greatly appreciate

Although I greatly appreciate Mr. Ross's generosity, am I the only one not thrilled that the athetlic campus -- which includes buildings named for Schembechler, Crisler, Yost, and Oosterbaan -- is being renamed after a man who happens to be a wealthy donor?

I'll give her the benefit of

I'll give her the benefit of the doubt she wasn't saying "Go Orange" during this year's Final Four.

I was wondering what happened

I was wondering what happened to Orlando Bloom.  It's like he used to be in movies but now is not in movies anymore.

Well done.

Well done.

Every time I think that I

Every time I think that I can't respect Denard enough, he finds a way to make me even more proud that he wore the winged helmet.  He will be missed.

Thank god.

I really needed this after the camo uniform reveal.

Does Cambridge's fencing

Does Cambridge's fencing team also have alternate camo uniforms?

My guess is that this picture

My guess is that this picture wasn't taken shortly after a staffer restocked the rack.  We'll see these popping up in developing countries in years to come.

Not nearly as much as he

Not nearly as much as he deserves, I'm sure.  Really gonna miss this kid.

Any $ in this for Denard?

I apologize, because I'm sure this has already been covered on the board, but does the EA cover image fall into the standard NCAA "we own your image for life" box, or is this in another category because Denard has graduated?  It'd be very nice for Denard to reap some financial reward after everything he's done in service to Michigan.

Why the "12"?

Doesn't it seem unwise for them to include the number of teams in their new conference name?  It's one thing if you have an older conference with a brand identity (e.g., Big Ten).  But if the artist formerly known as the Big East does this and there's further reallignment with teams bolting for the ACC/Big Ten/Big 12, then what?

Ad

Anyone else getting the boner pill ad when they play this?  Not that I'd need it after watching all those threes go down.

Well done.

Well done.

Christ

If Michigan had opted in with the Adidas news being announced after last night's force majeure, I would have gone from "on the ledge" to "weeeeeee!"

I don't believe anyone

who says they're not going to watch this team for the rest of the season and post-season.  If we have a big win against Sparty or Indiana (I don't dare hope for both at this point), that'll get enough folks' attention.  This is one of the best Michigan teams I have ever seen.  They're probably not going to live up to expectations.  But I want to see what Trey Burke will do in his last several games in a Wolverine uniform.  And you know that you do, too.

Seriously

It's not the kid's fault.  No need to use a derogatory term.  Sounds like Marino is the real "bastard" here.

"A slow, unathletic and undersized kid"

The Kovacs joke about Dileo is priceless.  Mark Dantonio isn't laughing, however.

Southern thing

We might consider the whole mistress episode to be irrelevant to his ability to coach a football team, but it could really be an issue in conservative states like Tennessee.  Cal-Berkeley, on the other hand, doesn't care who you're banging.

Someone keep Delaney distracted

Cal is an AAU member, has a terrible football team, and is located outside the B1G footprint in a major media market.  An obvious target for expansion.

Mealer's beard is his chin

Mealer's beard is his chin strap.

Agreed

Although these games will provide excuses for the announcers to remind us how we did in last season's tournament.

Why the backpedalling on "hugs and kisses"?

The "I Love You Denard" guy is perfectly alright with that.

So...

... referencing in-season posting rules is "off topic" but this post isn't?  Thanks for clearing that up.
