Landing at 422 with half an hour to go seems to be right in the time frame suggested. So how is that a "nope"?
|1 day 42 min ago||Last week Ray was on Sam||
Last week Ray was on Sam Webb's Friday afternoon show. Ray said that if he were AD he'd bring Hoke back for one more year. If Hoke wins a B1G championship, he stays. Otherwise, he replaces him with a home run hire. This seems like a very bad idea. What if Hoke loses the first two B1G games next year he is a lame duck with lots of season to go. What if he goes 11-2 and wins the Sugar Bowl (or other big bowl), but doesn't win the B1G (has happened before). What makes a home run hire any more likely next year?

I'm not sure those are the only two explanations. It could be that they've appropriately evaluated and developed the individual talent, but they didn't do a good job of diversifying skill sets or evaluating how the individuals would fit together as a team. For example, if you prioritize size (which it seems like this staff does), that could come at the expense of speed. If you take the biggest four star at every position, you'd have a good recruiting class, but might have limitied play-making ability. If lack of talent diversification is part of the problem, that doesn't get fixed overnight.

I couldn't care less whether he has nine on the field, takes a nap in his office, doesn't wear a headset, bow tie or pants for that matter and only talks about practice as long as we're winning. It ought to be about the results, not how he gets there.

If we're going to go undefeated until Harbaugh decides to come, wouldn't it be better if he never decided to do that?

Double edged sword -- if he stays, he could also prove that he can't catch the ball and isn't a dominant college wr.

I thought the replacement announcer at the stadium yesterday was really bad. Between that, the rawk and the t-shirt cannons it is sometimes hard to remember you're not at a Pistons game.

'08 was slightly worse. But, if you normalize for 5yr senior qb with 2+ years starting experience versus Sheridan/Threet and first year of major transition v. Year 4 of same regime, 2014 team underperformed much more. And it is not close.

|1 week 1 day ago||To be fair, he did say that||
To be fair, he did say that he expects MissSt to lose again. That being said, OSU has to pass more than MissSt to get in but that doesn't seem impossible. Oregon and Alabama both play a riavlry game and conference championship, FSU has struggled. Doesn't seem like both TCU and Baylor get in before a B1G champion OSU even with their one ugly, but early season loss.

If I'm the committee, I put TCU 4. This gives you the most flexibility. If both win out, you could put MissSt as 4 at the end based on a good win over ole miss, but if you put MissSt 4, but it would be hard to have TCU pass them if MissSt wins out ugly and TCU looks impressive based on relative strength of remaining schedules.

"never ending cycle of domestic violence...and yet I feel more sympathy toward Frank Clark. (I think most of the board does as well) Why?"
I think you answer your own question in its preface. Domestic violence is never ending, in other words, it can be a repetition of previously seen actions of others. Thus, it is more plausible that Clark was exposed to domestic violence in his youth and is modeling than it is that Gibbons was exposed to, and modeled, actions to which he had been exposed. (Note I said plausible, not certain.). Thus, it is easier to feel sorry for Clark because his background more plausibly contributed to his actions.

How do you know Gibbons made a decision as opposed to not controlling his propensity for sexual satisfaction? Seems like you're trying to make a distinction maybe without a difference.

I didn't offer up lack of objectivity as the only possible reason (or at least I didn't mean to). If i thought it was solely lack of objectivity, then why would it be interesting to hear their takes on why it hasn't been working?

I'm thinking the former players do care about winning and excellence and they think that Hoke can somehow get us there. It would be interesting to hear their takes on why it hasn't been working. Sometimes people are too close and lose objectivity.
