I was born and raised in Michigan. Just retired from active duty Army in August after 20 years and the Army brought me here to the Ft. Hood, Texas area. So I get alot of interaction with people all over the US, and have over the years. The amount of Bama and SEC leg humping and bandwagon fans is nauseating. A few Sparty fans I knew in the Army, but they were few and far between and easily put into thier place.
I know I am playing with fire - great way to put it. I dont see the success of OSU and MSU interfering with our trajectory. I believe we are in store for great things. We have Harbaugh, and a great recriting class. I dont see that changing with a Sparty win over Bama.
I I do not want Sparty to win it all. I havent said that. But I just hate the SEC. So if OSU and MSU have made championship game appearances, I hope its our turn next year.
Going against the grain here, I want Sparty to beat Bama then lose to Clemson. I cant take anymore Bama chest thumping. Hard for me to do, I hate Sparty, but Bama and there fanbase is more annoying (and more prevalent here in Texas) to me and I love watching the SEC world burn - especially at the hands of the B1G.
Is getting into the college play-off really the best thing for us? I mean I would hate to play Bama, Clemson or some other juggernaut of a team to get blown out cause our offense cannot keep pace. And what if we get the defense that showed up at Minnesota? It could get ugly. As much as I would love to get into the play-off, should we be careful of what we ask for?
Would we be better off going to a NY6 game against an opponent we can handle? Would that be better image-wise for us? For recruiting? For the smack we all would hear from the haters?
I think next year would set up nice for some play-off hopes and chances of winning it all.
I turned off the LSU Bama game awhile ago as it was painful to watch. Reminds me of the snooze fest that ended the BCS.
