i worked on that episode- i didnt watch it, though i know they got hooked up pretty hard with new equipment and some sweet electronics. what's questionable about the new orleans episodes?
I worked on the show for a little more than a season- theyre good people- invariably some shitty things happen as far as city fines and permitting but the show always took care of it after the fact if it wasnt all cleared beforehand. Thing is you have to get the place camera ready in 30-36 hours and then after the filming contractors are usually paid to fix and make things code and deal with inspections. A ton of money goes into it, and sometimes people are just pissed be ause they wanted more rehabbed than the show needed for shooting purposes- its really a symbiotic thing- no place ever is left with less than they went into it with.
i was working on a tv show that was traveling from los angeles to fort lauderdale. i had volunteered to drive the grip/camera truck across the country as it would mean some extra days of work/money. landed the truck at the W ft lauderdale and was excited to no longer be driving- came around the corner from the truck staging area to the valet area/entrance to the hotel to find no less than 40 people crowding around the entrance. people blocking doorways has to be a top 5 pet peeve of mine, and i was in a foul mood/road weary. carrying my bag, suitcase, and a large laser printer for the production department, i reverted to what i usually do on set in these situations and started calling out "points!" and "make a hole or get a brand new one" (which is stupid grip lingo for excuse me.) it didn't matter- no one was moving, so i started slowly nudging my way through the giant crowd, determined to get in that god damned door and begin the arduous process of checking into my room under a massive group reservation. people were kind of getting the picture and were sort of moving out of the way, until i ran, printer first into a guy who just wasn't moving. i look up, and it's ndomukong suh. he looked confused and half mumbled "excuse me" while i drew several of the DIRTIEST looks ever from the suits that were with him.
TLDR: someone buy our offensive line some laser printers/COOL STORY BRO/stop using run on sentences you idiot
it seems like a big focus on defense is for people in a position group to learn all the different positions- unsure if thats something that normally happens when you play multiple or if this is something this staff does that's uncommon- maybe itll soften the blow when people at a thin position take an injury? at any rate, im pumped about it
you guys all seem to focus on the ums and wells, but the real flagship of brady hoke speak was the "you know". look at any half time interview. the man thought we knew everything.
say what you will about him as a coach, but the man sure knew how to keep a drinking game interesting.
