I think we have such PTSD…

I think we have such PTSD from Don Brown that when someone finds schematic similarities between the new DC and Don Brown, people get the shakes.

And to be fair, Alabama just…

And to be fair, Alabama just made it to the CFP semi with a QB who can't really throw.  Orji, even if he is a bit of a liability in the passing game, could theoretically keep the team afloat.  I would prefer a dual threat weapon with accuracy issues and happy feet than a very "mid" game manager, who can make some of the easier throws more consistently but not a whole lot more.  That said, I still think we grab a portal guy too.

Kind of silly tbh.  Football…

Kind of silly tbh.  Football is least dangerous in younger kids, and parents should be able to make this decision.  Hopefully it doesn't pass.

FWIW my parents didnt let me play until HS and I will likely do the same with my son if he even wants to play, but this shouldn't be legislated.

With Dobbins future…

With Dobbins future uncertain and Gus aging, I could see Corum fitting in there.  He'd fit well with Keaton Mitchell on their team.

Nah, need him to go wherever…

Nah, need him to go wherever Ben Johnson winds up next year and I can have a pet team beyond the Lions lol.

Man, I am bummed they are…

Man, I am bummed they are sold out of all the jersey sizes.. Really wanted a "0" Sainristil jersey.  Dropped $220 nonetheless on other goodies.  Hopefully they come re-available soon!

To be fair, this reads as…

To be fair, this reads as the options the sportsmanship policy allows for wrt penalties.  It doesn't state it is actually what we are being threatened with.  This feels very click/rage bait-y.

This probably won’t be well…

This probably won’t be well received around here, but if he refuses to take any modicum of responsibility, that comes off as kind of lame.  He is the head coach after all. THAT SAID, the degree of responsibility he takes shouldn’t equate to significant suspension or firing. But accepting a degree of responsibility for not better monitoring staff and a brief suspension seems like a happy medium that  hopefully puts some of this to rest for now.  Just my two cents and I realize there may be implications from a PR or investigation standpoint that would lead to accepting no responsibility as the “better” option.

That's my thought as well.

That's my thought as well.

It sounds like they are…

It sounds like they are rolling with the "he should have known" card.  Which... fine I guess?  Hard to argue that.  At this point, I am just happy to hear it seems like the worst that will happen is Harbaugh gets suspended and the team can still play.  If you could tell me we could suspend Harbaugh and make the story go away and I can stop doom scrolling twitter, I would accept that deal lmao.

yeah this basically sums up…

yeah this basically sums up the gist of what's going around the boards.

Without divulging…

Without divulging specifically what is being said on the ON3 boards, reading tea leaves it sounds like this is either:

1- Something new that we don't know.. ie. a coach or coordinator knew about it

2- Evidence of Stallions actually at a game

IMO, it always seemed unlikely that literally NO ONE knew.  I do not think Harbaugh or the coordinators knew, but other low level staffers? Interns? I bet someone did.  People talk and Stallions seems like someone to brag based on some of his leaked texts.

With regards to whether Stallions attended games personally or not, I know a lot of Michigan fans were holding out hope that he didn't, but if he did, and no coaches knew about it, I am not sure how much it moves the dial?

To be clear, this is just my opinion based on the vibe coming from Balas.  Not something he explicitly said or even implied.  I just don't know what else would cause him to be so doom and gloom all of a sudden.

Sigh.. We will see..

I have not but I googled it…

I have not but I googled it as fast as he could Google “wrt”.

Is this guy just old,…

Is this guy just old, extremely self righteous, an assh*** or all of the above?

I know most of us would…

I know most of us would really love for Warde to give the NCAA a huge middle finger and sign Harbaugh to the highest paying Big Ten contract, and a top 5  overall contract in all of CFP, smack in the middle of this shit storm.  That said, I can completely understand why they would pause it for now, if nothing else than purely for PR reasons.  My hope is this is a pause until things blow over a bit, or even better, we find out this isn't as bad as our rivals hope it is.  Then, at that point we go ahead and sign it.

I think it's safe to assume…

I think it's safe to assume he has rationalized this in a way that he feels he is in the right and is doing what is best for the Michigan AD.

Jim Stapleton definitely…

Jim Stapleton definitely sounds like a guy who would call the shit poop.

Leaking someone's address,…

Leaking someone's address, phone number etc. to the public, usually in an attempt to threaten them.

I frequent a discord…

I frequent a discord community for fantasy football run by a big OSU fan.  He stated today that he’d be “shocked if most schools are not doing this”.  I was surprised by this take from him, now I am wondering if he knows something as he is somewhat connected.

I know the hope is that he…

I know the hope is that he is doing this on his own but I’m curious how he could afford it on his reported 55k salary.  My secondary hope is that a booster or other unaffiliated person funded it. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Silver lining: let's run the…

Silver lining: let's run the table and whoop everyone's ass without our scary sign stealer and see how they rationalize it next.

1st Team: Hutchinson, Hurst,…

1st Team: Hutchinson, Hurst, Graham, Gary

2nd Team: Ojabo, Glasgow, Jenkins, Winovich

3rd: Taco, Henry, Mazi, Paye

Honorable Mention: Danna, Morris, Wormley, Ryan

Yes, I already think Graham is 1st team DT... he should clear Hurst by the end of his career. Also, this is only for the Harbaugh era obviously.

One bummer is that there is…

One bummer is that there is a very real chance we don't get to play against Dante Moore at UCLA as I would assume he has a good shot to be a 3 year declare.  We will see.

Yeah I understand all of…

Yeah I understand all of that.  I am not trying to create a court case against anyone.  Just stating my opinions/feelings =).

Perhaps "angling" is…

Perhaps "angling" is unnecessarily negative in tone, but, if you read through the entirety of the letter coined by Tucker's lawyer including the text messages, and also include previous statements regarding comments made along the lines of "needing a sugar daddy" etc.., that's where my comment comes from.  To clarify, Tucker is an idiot, and made horrible judgement and is clearly not a smart, nor good person.  That said, this doesn't smell like a situation where Tracy is going to look good either.  If her motive was purely to stand-up for survivors and not be taken advantage again, the constant comments/tone of finances both before and after the incident doesn't really support that.  Yes, Tuck's lawyers will surely only want to show one side of the story (as will Tracy's), so you have to take everything with a grain of salt.  It's also clear this is just going to turn into a smear campaign on both of their parts to try to make the other party look bad and try to salvage their reputations.  This shouldn't actually impact his settlement with MSU.

The whole thing has felt…

The whole thing has felt weird from the start and Brenda Tracy has never sounded 100% innocent.  There has always seemed to be a financial component from previous quotes and the current released texts too.  Tuck is obviously a freaking idiot, but I do not believe Brenda Tracy's reputation is going to leave this unharmed either between the angling for money side, and the relationships with married men side, especially given the nature of her business.

Agreed.  This is definitely…

Agreed.  This is definitely a pattern anyone saying otherwise is either not watching the games closely or not willing to take their maize tinted glasses off. I had hoped through the first two weeks we’d seen JJ mature and grow out of these sorts of things and I was willing to ignore one pick, maybe even 2 on something like 30 passes. But 3 picks on 13 throws is awfully scary.  Here’s to hoping this is an anomaly and not a sign of things to come.

Watching PSU for the first…

Watching PSU for the first time this year.  Allar doesn’t look scary from the small sample size. Seems a year away from realizing his potential.

This is the one I have had…

This is the one I have had my eyes on too.

Looks like still no Rod…

Looks like still no Rod Moore, WJ, or Makari Paige.  Hope they can go next week so they aren't getting their first live reps in a Big Ten game.

Right?  Like, yes, Toney…

Right?  Like, yes, Toney fucked up badly, but let's just call it even with whatever the fuck the RT was doing all game lol.

I've seen some attention on…

I've seen some attention on Twitter drawn to a comparison of Goff vs Stafford using the 3rd down pass play on the game winning drive to Reynolds, where ARSB was wide open in the seam, although not technically a read for Goff on the play.  I guess Stafford had a similar play-call in their SB run where Kupp ran the same play and also wasn't part of the read/progression.  Goff ran his progressions and made a great play.  Stafford improvised and hit a huge play to Kupp that wasn't supposed to be the target.  Perfect example of the differences between the two QBs.. I always felt like Stafford took too much heat for the Lions' struggles, but I think Goff's style works really well for this team.

Did you watch Oregon and…

Did you watch Oregon and Oklahoma?  Some teams played better and some worse than us today. It could have been worse and it also could have been better.  No one is saying the sky is falling, but I think expecting a little more out of the OL/run game and RZ play calling is rationale. There’s nothing wrong with being constructively critical of your team.

"You must be new here" yet…

"You must be new here" yet my account is 4 years older than yours lol.  Just because we experienced some bad years doesn't mean we should lower our standards when we have a good team.  Not only did I experience those years, I was in college for part of them and got to experience them very up close and personal.

It was a boring, comfortable…

It was a boring, comfortable win but it wasn’t what I would consider a “throttling”. I was hoping the win would be a little more dominant and didn’t expect our run game and OL to be stonewalled..  but obviously it’s early in the season and there are usually still things to iron out and that was ECUs game plan.  To me, this felt more like we were playing Indiana or Northwestern with regards to how comfortable the win was. Again, I was hoping for a 45+ point outing where every single part of the team was clicking. This wasn’t that, but I’m not writing the team off or anything lol.

LBs and DTs looked good as a…

LBs and DTs looked good as a whole. I think Hausman is going to be hard to keep off the field.

CBs and safeties were okay considering injuries. Sabb had some nice plays as did Wallace. Also some open guys.

I am a bit worried by lack of edge pressure against a bad team but maybe the UFR will show ECU was scheming against allowing that with quick passes etc.

It wasn’t a throttling…

It wasn’t a throttling though.

My thoughts exactly.  I feel…

My thoughts exactly.  I feel like many of the games towards the end of last year and this one teams have just been completely selling out the run. If JJ can play well all year it will bite them like it did at times against OSU and TCU.  That said it’s a bit disconcerting not being able to run the ball.  Not to mention atrocious play calling in the RZ AGAIN.

A little validation for me…

A little validation for me seeing front page article today from Brian agrees re: play-calling:

" I do have some optimism because Weiss was reportedly the playcaller on third downs and in the redzone, and for the most part I did not like what Michigan was doing in the redzone last year"

I mean, yeah it was.  And I…

I mean, yeah it was.  And I had a great time last season.  That said, always things to improve on and I feel like play-calling in certain situations is one of them.  Again, in my humble fan opinion.. lol

I mean, the play-calling has…

I mean, the play-calling has been the subject of more than a little bit of talk, with people even questioning the efficacy of the whole Co-OC thing we had going on... I am hoping this year will be better.  I realize fans are often hyper-critical of their teams play-calling, but Michigan's has been particularly funky at times over the last couple of years especially on 3rd down and redzone situations.. at least in my humble fan opinion.  It got better last year I think largely because they were so often in easy 3rd and short situations.

Watching the Lions last year, and seeing Ben Johnson call plays was the most impressed I have felt watching my teams (Lions and UofM) call plays in my 33 years of life lol.

There are maybe some…

There may be some similarities but I would say from a play-calling standpoint I found myself at multiple times last year thinking:

"I wish Michigan's play-calling was more like Ben Johnson's"

While watching Michigan, while improved last year a little bit, there was still a lot of baffling play-calling.  Ben Johnson's play-calling last year on the other-hand was masterful.

His segment today at 2pm re:…

His segment today at 2pm re: MSU football is a good example of how he is pretty fair.  He completely tore Mel Tucker a new one..

https://www.audacy.com/stations/971theticket/shows/the-valenti-show-with-rico-24611/episodes/3ba227e52a87

I agree, I really enjoy…

I agree, I really enjoy Valenti too, for the most part.  When he talks about the UofM sports teams themselves (ie. actual sports analysis), he is actually fine and provides fair points.  When he talks about the fans, the program etc., that is when his hatred/bias comes out and I usually turn it off.  Outside of those moments, I think he is incredibly entertaining, knowledgeable and well prepared, and I enjoy his show.  I too wish they'd send Rico to Bolivia.

Rudolph I agree, but…

Rudolph I agree, but Kentucky doesn't have the money cannons that Miami has, and the timing is suspect.  Could be nothing and I could be paranoid... but the timing stinks.

From what has been…

From what has been insinuated by people surrounding Michigan's program, it sounds like opposing coaches are completely ruthless when it comes to negative recruiting.  It wouldn't surprise me one bit if they were planting seeds of doubt in kids' heads that, if this issue drags on, there's a chance Harbaugh won't be coaching Michigan next season.  heck, I even think that seed of doubt is planted in some fan's heads.  If that's the case, and two schools are super close, I could see this sort of negative recruiting being impactful in the decision making process.

I wonder if we're already…

I wonder if we're already seeing the impact of this with the decommitment of Elias Rudolph and now the news (ON3 predictions made from some Kentucky insiders) of the Smith twins possibly flipping.  It's obviously hard to know if this is truly playing a role or if this is just the nature of the beast in the modern NIL landscape.  That said, it is interesting to see recruiting momentum screech to a halt right as this stuff started picking up steam again (we also have lost out on a number of other big names in recent months).  You know it is absolutely being used as a negative recruiting tool...  Really unfortunate if this is the case..

I don't have a major problem…

I don't have a major problem with CJ.  He has generally come across as a relatively good kid.  But, between this, and his comments at the combine re: Watson... he lacks some self awareness lmao.

Not trying in any way to…

Not trying in any way to slander the man but my guess is Hunter is trying to get as much money as he can while in college since he won’t have much of an NBA career most likely.  That combined with the ineptitude of the team this year and the likely circumstance of Jett and Kobe both leaving. Makes sense I guess.

I think this makes us worse this year obviously but I actually think it’s good developmentally for the team long term. I’d had enough of Hunter’s antics anyways and was half hoping he’d declare for the draft.

We are probably looking at another year or two of being mediocre but hopefully we can turn it around from there.

Yes I know they are open in…

Yes I know they are open in a new location but the old one was very nostalgic with some good childhood memories even pre college (I had a buddy who started working there at 14[!!] so I would get free food often).
