There's a reason California kids are such tough pulls out here. On to the next one........
I'm cool with Stanford, but SoCal's continued train of highly rated QB's when there are lots of opportunities at strong PAC-12 programs confuses the crap out of me.

Considering Michigan's decline began when Lloyd let Tressel shut him out of Ohio and pursued a Cal/Texas/Florida strategy, I'd say sticking to Ohio is a good idea.

There's actually a pretty long tradition of kids from Fresno going to Oklahoma. I think Norman reminds them of home to a certain extent.

San Antonio is a great city and I hope he does very well at UTSA. Good choice for him I think.

Colorado driver and it's awesome. Not a huge fan of the rest of the line, but the Colorado is a much needed mid-size.

I foresee some grad transfers for 2016 to come in and shore up a positiion or two. While I agree that the depth chart looks dire for 2016, I am not sure O-line of the past couple of years is the best analogy. There will be some youth, but I have a feeling a coherent defensive scheme and expectations will help a great deal and in a way that the Offensive line was not helped.

Based on scuttlebutt from some former athletes I know, that letter most definitely did not reflect the true feelings of the coaches.

Given one of the points he made in his PR tour was that he watched film with the coaches because he wanted to regain the feeling of being a college athlete, I can easily see why he was great to the student-athletes. That said, several of my friends got to the point where they would not even attend another game until a new AD was in town. How does that even happen without the guy being very bad at his job. Title and tone of the article are entirely appropriate in my opinion.

I like it, it gives me a chance to check out deals in the non-revenue sports and is in an effective marketing area for the university. It doesn't seem to ruin any sight lines or project into anyone's windows.

I think the only reason I like it is I grew up in a town a lot like that and could not believe how accurately everything was depicted. It's pretty in love with itself and I can see how that can be off-putting.

I just couldn't handle them calling the female officers "Sir". Drove me completely batshit and I couldn't watch the show after that. The term is "Ma'am" and God help you if you screw it up.

I'm not sure this one was so much about getting the decision right as to calm the noise and the waters. I really don't think he wanted to stay in Georgia but once he delayed I think the gravitational pull just turned out to be too much from his homwetown, players he knew, etc.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||Completely agree, but to just||
Completely agree, but to just go for the 5 stars is a bit short-sighted. trying to set up a consistent recruiting base in an area that Harbaugh and Drevno know well isn't the worst idea. Same thing with Texas and Florida. You can't ignore the Midwest and I don't think the staff is doing that, but at the same time you can't ignore California and the Southern states either, which is what it seemed Hoke started to do.

Good to get some more experienced defensive depth in and perhaps let some of the guys get more of a breather in what's looking like a somewhat thin secondary. I like this move a lot.

You mean like Harbaugh is, no need to throw stones given the glass house we live in with that particular line of thinking.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||He's been there three years,||
He's been there three years, turned the culture around, produced the latest Butkus winner and is developing a steady pipeline of NFL draftees. He's an ex-NFL coach as well and can sell I know what it takes to get to the league. Combine that with the LA location and good academics and it's pretty obvious that UCLA was kind of a sleeping giant that just had to get out of its own way. There's also the fact that USC has So Cal on lockdown so they have to go national.

|3 weeks 6 days ago||Check the recruiting classes||
Check the recruiting classes since Mora got there and even the Neuheisel era ones before the wheels fell off, this really isn't that unusual that UCLA is able to pull in national talent without shenanigan's. They've especially shifted to a national strategy to counter the fact that SC has most of the Southern California kids on lockdown, I'd expect to see them competing for a lot more recruits in the future as both schools need to go national and both tend to need to recruit solid academic kids.
