It was still more production then they were getting elsewhere and there wasn't the risk of the field flipping. JD Lewis was a warrior that game no doubt, but they're drawing a line between effective and feared. I don't necessarily agree with the perspective, but I don't find it insane.

9 for 132 doesn't strike me as a "meh" outing. When you think about it, I do see the point of what the guy is saying.

I saw Buddy Guy 12 years ago and it is still one of my favorite concert experiences. Interesting to be around a man older than the hills who is still far far cooler than I will ever be.
Have a great time!

I think he was bowing to the reality that Michigan has two psychotic fanbases that see us as the root of all evil and that the "Return to Glory" narrative is starting to get a little stale around Michigan football.
I mostly read it as, I just want to talk about what the numbers show and not get a ton of snide little comments from other Big Ten fans. I mean, hell, have you ever looked at Off Tackle Empire, the supposedly all Big Ten covering site, it's a damn near constant anti-Michigan circle jerk. If he's trying to forestall all that, bless him.
Plus the narrative is tiresome to a certain extent and given his background as a Mizzou fan, I get the "Pre-season hype" raised eyebrow.

Good signing for depth and gives them a nice, reliable option. Not going to take them over the top, but it's a decent summertime move.

Two things here:
1. If I was in his situation, I would absolutely take those visits even if I knew exactly where I was going to go.
2. The staff seems to be comfortable with guys taking visits elsewhere and are confident in their approach. It's not like Harbaugh's going to stop recruiting Defensive Linemen, so while I really want Solomon to stay in the class and think that he will, I don't think him deciding to go elsewhere is going to leave the staff flat footed like the previous one always was.

I don't know about that, this seems to be the only corner of the internet that is even the slightest bit skeptical.
I have a feeling he's going to line up in Green and White this fall.

Seeing him work in a Harbaugh offense would be fantastic.

Michigan-Minnesota and Michigan MSU had pretty classically thrilling endings that a neutral fan would appreciate even as they leave a bad taste in our mouths......

I wonder if they seem him as fulfilling the Peppers role as more of a coverage backer. In any case I like seeing him decide not to give up.

Seconded, beautiful choreography and just extremely exciting, that and the fight between Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Ziyi(?) was pretty great, too.

Michael Cera in just about anything makes me unable to finish a movie. The only film I liked him in was This is the End.

It's 3 Million(which is a lot of money)and they're not getting out of it what they thought they would. Not my favorite move, but I get it. I know this is hard for college students to understand, but not all consequences of protests are positive.

Yeah, One night game every other or even every few years doesn't seem to be much of a travesty and I've always had a ton of fun at them. Not sure why there has to be an inflexible line around them.

Newsome and Kinnel should, simply by dint of the depth chart. The fact they also seem to be very talented players doesn't hurt.
TWJ and Gentry both provide something very intruiging at Tight End.
The rest of the class all offer something or they wouldn't be here, so I'm going to assume that this won't be a class of 2011 level disaster, and hope to enjoy the careers of guys who decided to come here when the program seemed to be at a low point.
|1 week 1 day ago||I agree with this view, there||
I agree with this view, there are huge positive effects from sports, but there is a definite debate that can be had in goodwill about whether the scale of resources devoted to sports are worth it and whether one should see public high schools with gleaming athletic facilities.
At the same time Sports are an easy target for people pre-disposed to dislike them and we're probably talking about expenses that amount to a rounding error in a school systems overall budget. So this is likely an argument at the margins of an issue that is easier to focus on and generates a lot of energy because of the passions of both people who enjoy sports and those who dislike sports.

My problem with UT is that their losses were typically heartbreakers. Now maybe a young team can get past that, but there were some disturbing capitulations in there for sure.

It's hard to say as I'm happy with where I am right now, so any regrets about choices in my life path may have pushed me down a road I wouldn't be as happy with.
I debated sharing this but, what the hell, the board is mostly anonymous and for some reason I feel the need to get this off my chest.
If anything what I regret most is disconnecting emotionally from one of my sisters when her illness(late On-Set Tay-Sachs) took her over and turned her into a completely different person when she was 18. She lived for almost ten more years but was basically a shell of herself and in my mind I had grieved her death and moved on, but someone in her body was still there, it just wasn't really her anymore. Both my other sister and I did the same thing in disconnecting emotionally and it wasn't right and I know it bothers my mother to this day, but it's hard when you are not responsible for someone's care and you can't talk to them because they can't carry on conversations(she would sit and smile a lot and could do low level tasks), aren't sure if they know who you are anymore, and are risks to be violent. I often wonder if this is how it is when dealing with a loved one with Alzheimer's in that the physical shell is there, but who the person was is just.....gone. In any case, some day I am going to have to tell my kids the whole story about the Aunt they never met and I am really not looking forward to that as it doesn't have a happy ending and reveals something about my character I wish it didn't.
I also regret the times I could have been nicer. I wasn't popular growing up but I still had a few moments in which I mercilessly teased some perfectly nice people and to this day it still eats at me. There are also the "I wish I was more patient with my kids" level regrets.

UNLV is a total shitshow of a football program(the coach is good, but he has to have his eyes ona bigger prize) in a town with little interest in sports. No-one is actually from Vegas and so while the population always makes it an intriguing fit for pro sports franchises, I'll bet you money the NHL franchise moves within ten years and this NFL thing goes nowhere.
|1 week 2 days ago||There is a lot of pride in||
There is a lot of pride in that break up and those teams will only get back on each others schedules if one school can somehow make the other look weak. In other words I would expect pigs to fly before UT and A&M face off on the field again. From what I can tell the basic attitude of both sides seems to be "screw 'em".
I think a big part of this is that A&M has a little brother complex that makes MSU's look like a slightly adorable personality tic. This is only enflamed by the fact that A&M actually has traditions other than fans acting like asshat jugalos, but can never quite get UT to see it as THE main rival as UT has Oklahoma for that. The military has a ton of Aggies in it and they all shared two things in common(it may have changed since I quit, but I doubt it), 1. Obnoxious pride in the school(take the usual state pride of a native Texan and then multiply it by about three) and 2. A pathological hatred of UT.
UT doesn't want to be seen as giving into a school below it's level and A&M needs to be seen as bringing UT to heel for psychological reasons. Sumlin and Strong are both going to make noises about playing again, but I don;t expect anything serious to come of it.
|1 week 2 days ago||Was it? Don't get me wrong, I||
Don't get me wrong, I love Weird Al(to the point where I took my family to one of his concerts), but he has always suffered from what I'd call Eric Clapton disease, two or three amazing songs on albums that are mostly junk. The thing is that he's so prolific you forget about the junk only to be reminded of it on his new album. Food album was also a greatest hits collection, so it's not going to have the same problems.

I've done a variety of small repairs, but don't have the equipment, time or training for anything major.
Probably the biggest job I ever did was helping a buddy put a stereo system in his truck in high school. He wanted to put speakers in the doors, which was far more work than I imagined. The was an awful lot of cutting metal and drilling holes and many a curse word was uttered, about six hours later we finally had a fully installed and working stero system and most of that was due to my buddy's dad trouble shooting whenever we screwed something up. He was cool about it, though, and just showed us what we did wrong and then made us fix it. Fun experience, but it put me off of doing any sort of major modifications.

Youtube videos have been amazingly helpful for house repairs(which are horribly expensive and often not that hard to do if you're willing to try it out) and I just used one to teach me how to replace the headlghts on my Odyssey.
I can't second this recommendation enough.
