IKR. because he bounded out of bed with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind and never thought about turning around to straighten some sheets out, it was full steam ahead!
and as i mentioned down-thread, the refs did us exactly zero favors. numerous canadian cross-checks let go, and micky was remarking on those. and that boarding from behind of raymond in the second period that then immediately generated the habs fourth goal. what is this 'home town whistle' that i hear people mention? mere myth?
bad news: canadians scored on 2 of their first 3 shots, and 4 of their first 13. our goaltending is tuuurrrrible.
good news: offense/sustained pressure/cycling was pretty great as the game went on. we had something like 35 shots on goal and the canadians had another 30+ blocked shots -that is a ton of offensive pressure by us.
was fun to see us come back. we hit the post or crossbar 4 times in the 3rd and OT combined. we got absolutely no hometown whistle by the refs - canadians should've been called for a boatload of crosschecks and one particularly nasty boarding of raymond.
you're a native michigander, so you don't count as ohioan. you're 'in', and so is your family, but don't try to sneak anybody else in that's not a michigander. very strict, formal rules to all of this.
beating ohio this season for the third time with the incredible, evil, manipulations pulled by ohio in their desperate attempt to beat us can't be overvalued. that said, if ohio doesn't 'win all the games' this year, including vs. us and in the CFP, the explosion of hate from their fan base would be epic.
they are the worst state ever, and they earn that title every day.
i might be one of the few people here that have been to some of those places. not antarctica, but the others. i've actually waded in the arctic ocean, albeit very briefly.
and the serious part also is that i've been a member there for quite a while and years back you could have a decent back-and-forth with folks there, some genuine fun. now, it is absolutely bat-guano crazy, with 0.0% chance of anything other than f michigan, tcun (incidentally, that means 'the CHAMPIONS up north), cheaterrzzz, etc. no rational thought, no self-reflection, just pure, stupid, ham-fisted hate.
i took a look over at 11whiners the other day. they had a post about 'with harbaugh gone, who do we hate', and the posts were a combination of delusional, psychotic and mind-numbing. i mean, it was so bad that it was the kind of thing that makes you lose faith in humanity, and i'm not kidding. sick stuff from sick people.

as great as he is, he'd be walking into a team he has zero chemistry with, pushing another QB out of the way causing resentment in some parts of the locker room, and having to learn an entirely new offense and all the minute quirks/calls/players' tendencies in a matter of weeks. if anyone could do it, sure, #12 can. but just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
understanding that we have more zone time, more shots, more hits, but bad puck luck, we can and i shall say, we are outplaying them. sometimes it just doesn't go your way. refs hosed us on the first goal (offsides). refs hosed us on the second goal (worst 'tripping' penalty i've ever seen called), and they did score a third on that same b.s. penalty.
and for our red wings, down 4-2 to the pens, in pittsburgh, almost the end of the 2nd. tuesday's loss was a near-fatal blow. lose tonight and we are out of the playoffs barring a miracle.

it was an even strength goal when it was scored, not a penalty since both teams had a guy off the ice. thus, no dude liberated from the box.
