talking about an obvious ankle injury takes no access to medical records - watch the tape and see the ankle get sprained. you/me/brandon are not prohibited from saying the word 'sprain' when we can plainly see what happened.
but the concussion injury can only be properly diagnosed by a doctor or other medical health professional. they are prohibited from disclosing that unless consent has been given. i assume there is some type of consent from player to team physicians and likely coaches so the team can function and plan for injury issues, but that is different than a waiver that says, in effect, 'anything the doc tells you, you can put it on twitter, facebook and TV.'
1484 - your otter comment yesterday was hysterical. good one.

all of that to say, we all love michigan, michigan football, and this blog, but the bottom line is that the things of life and daily living far eclipse football in importance. go blue, enjoy the mgoblog community, but excel at being the best spouse, parent, sibling, grandchild, etc. that you can be and you will only smile at football, and turn it off when we stink. like right now.

son #2's team walloped another, and he had a couple of TD's. he + oldest son and i went swimming in lake michigan on the way home from that game, then stopped at another high school game after that. the older sons waxed the pickup truck while i took a nap, watched some college football (not michigan) and i just gave the 3 youngest sons haircuts. and there hasn't been a cloud up north in a week, 75 degrees since last sunday.
so, i'm ticked michigan lost, disturbed about what i'm reading with morris getting put back in a game he was apparently pulled from with his bell rung, but remember, it's college football which is an enjoyable (usually, anyway) diversion, it's not life.

and just clicked on your tag address to 'vpfarming'. going to take me a while to go through that, but my guess is we are quite like-minded. enjoyed the pics, particularly the wonderful family stuff.
as to livestock we are the same as you, but i'd also add eggs, turkeys, some row crops and some fruit to the mix. i also built a bio-diesel reactor in the barn so we can make our own fuel, though i do buy fuel too.
we will harvest most of our turkeys and cows within the next 3 weeks. chickens (meat birds) are already raised/harvested/sold. eggs are on-going.
no chemicals on the farm, meaning our animals have no hormones, antibiotics, etc, and our crops don't depend on fertiizer and pesticide. we pasture all our livestock, including the poultry.
blessings to you and your family.

|3 weeks 3 days ago||Press We Ran||
was contact at the line of scrimmage and the entire route until/unless the ball was in the air. to use an old saying, 'i want to know what flavor gum their receivers are chewing'. the decision that needs to be made is whether you cover 'outside in' and let the receiver have the slant, or if you press from 'inside out', meaning you force the receiver to take a outside route toward the sideline.
difficulty comes with slot receivers, but if your LB's are dropping back they are hopefully taking away the slant/underneath throws to the slot guys.

about wanting the betting man to think anything other than to bet the game. their sole goal is to have an equal amount of money bet on each proposition, to wit: the same amount of money bet for oregon and for msu. vegas gets 10% vig on each bet. then they simply hand the one stash of losers' cash to the folks that won, and keep their vig. no risk, just held the money for 6 days and kept the 'commission'.
as to the line, i agree it seems out of whack, but that is probably due to the fact that there are a lot more oregon fans going to bet $ in vegas than sparty fans. thus, to draw an equal amount of $ bet they had to tilt the line somewhat. i too think i'd bet the mortgage on sparty if it was purely a business deal. i will still kind of pull for them to win, but that's hard.

the manner of your eating of the second 1/2 of the lemon is called 'montana red dog', and comes from the habit we had in college of taking our dip (chewing tobacco) without using hands. simply opening up the tin and, in effect, biting the tobacco and packing it neatly in one fell swoop. took some practice, especially if you had 4 of anything to drink. fortuntately it's been 30 years since i dipped - a habit left in college.
fyi, the montana red dog comes courtesy of and in honor of one of our college buddies from montana. so crazy was bakes that he once came face to face with a treed mountain lion on a hunt, on purpose. but that's a story over a few beers. we'll plan that mgobbq for november.

1. better music, no old 'favorites' that are past their prime. also way less of the ultra-loud music to make you think you are at a pistons/wings game and the sound guy is on meth.
2. cell coverage was fine. i use my old clam-shell phone as a watch and noted i had bars all game long. fyi, we are up in row 76 so maybe that helps.
3. scoreboard run better since we got replays almost all the time and right away. last year that was inexplicably but frequently missing. and as noted, they kept scrolling the relevant out of town games all during the game instead of one lame update at half-time. they even had a few highlights from those other games.

i was there, like many of you, and watched green run to his assigned hole and crash into guys when he could've bounced out (or in) and made some headway. thankfully that got better as we all know, but much of that was the O-line showing up later on. smith had the same issues to deal with early on that green did, but made yards before the O-line was working right with better vision leading to better cuts.

my favorite weight gain meal was a sister ann from pizza bobs, and i'd get a combo, chocolate chip/coffee milk shake.
playing football in socal, it would have been getting two 'double doubles' from in-n-out burger, with fries and a chocolate shake, or if i was at a diner i'd order like a dozen eggs over easy, 3 orders of wheat toast, and a roast beef sandwich. as they say, you've got to eat big to get big.
p.s. when we were growing up downstate my father and gordie were good buddies and the families were friendly. when my dad passed away 3 years ago he left me/us the jersey gordie gave him when i was born, his white red wings (at the time the away jersey) captain's jersey. us siblings donated it to the red wings and they have it up somewhere at the joe i believe.

his freshman year when he was playing us and running around the big house. i knew he was a wild card with throws, but man you could see the talent, big time. would much prefer to play them at full strength in columbus, no excuses, may he best team win. if he's not had a red shirt, assumedly he can come to A2 next year and play his final game at the big house. now that would be a fine resolution to this unfortunate injury.

otherwise it's real tough to get that much into your system. in michigan the michigan state police crime lab claims to be able to measure down to 1 ng (they flatter themselves), but unless someone has a MMMA card (michigan medical mj act) there is a 'zero tolerance' for TCH in a driver's system and measuring to 13-16 ng is not tough. the feds are working on standards in the 5-7 ng range for being 'under the influence'.

hands down the most beautiful place on the planet. phenomenol hunting, fishing (fly and deep sea), skiing, hiking, boating, rafting, climbing. alaskans are fun too, generally very helpful. remember one thing about visiting though. locals say 'anchorage, only 1/2 hour away from alaska' in reference to the seedy urban element that lives in anchorage and is so out of place in the beauty and wilderness that is the rest of the state.

once in the '70's to see my oldest brother play them, once in the '80's to see all our friends play them, and watch AC run a punt back and hand us the ball. the ND fans were fine then, but things change.
saw mich pound IU down in bloomington in the '80's too. nice fans, no problems. it was the first time i heard a fan base yell 'I-U-D' when we had the ball. i giggled like a school kid.
been to evanston to see NW play, but not against michigan. low-key, decent small stadium, and i always root for the cats as long as they aren't playing our wolverines.
now if you want to talk hockey venues, that is a different matter. i will say playing in columbus wasn't that big of a deal, and i will confirm a prior post that i always thought munn (MSU"s arena) had the best ice besides ours.
