if you play your hearts out and come up short to an evenly matched team, the loss sucks, but it's not necessarily disheartening.
to play like crap against a team that has no business being on the same field is cause for concern. looked like a possible pass interference on the last play... just think what coulda been.
i'd rather play the good teams than swallow this crap every year.
|13 weeks 3 days ago||yup||
would you rather play akron, or alabama? central michigan or notre dame?
i was thinking watching the highlights of the alabama tamu game that it must have been a lot of fun to be in that game. who cares when you're playing akron - a combined 3-33 in the last three years. just boring. tickets cost too much for this kind of crap.

come back, chris
|37 weeks 3 days ago||in my experience, their fans aren't so bad.||
even when they're winning.
north dakota has the most insufferable fans. every year i'm happy to see them lose.
maine fans were kind of obnoxious, too. that hasn't been an issue for a few years now.
of course, i'm not an obnoxious fan, but i wonder what people say about michigan fans (at least away from yost).
part of me was hoping for a und-und final, with und beating und in overtime. oh, well... if michigan can't win it, let someone else win it.

i agree with this 200%.

five of those to highly ranked opponents and all but one of those on the road.

what i don't get is the paterno report says paterno was not given an opportunity to refute anything in the freeh report; freeh says paterno declined.
at the very least, both paterno and mcqueary are guilty of willful ignorance.

thank you, wolverinehistorian.
most of all, thank you, denard.
|1 year 3 weeks ago||it's clearly a popularity contest||
must get the michigan alumni base mobilised.
reading the descriptions of the finalists, there are only a handful that come close to jordan. good thing the fan vote is only 5%.
|1 year 4 weeks ago||that would never happen||
that would undermine the sanctity of the regular season and the bowl structure.

What are you trying to say?
|1 year 11 weeks ago||yes, but there are some who don't care||
i'd much rather play an interesting game and lose once in a while than win a championship by playing cupcakes.

win, i tell you
|1 year 14 weeks ago||oh, what might have been...||
how is this guy successful everywhere but michigan? maybe jeff casteel knew something.
i've been thinking about a trip to bolivian...

it's no fun winning if you're padding the schedule
|1 year 15 weeks ago||amen, brother sten...||
|1 year 15 weeks ago||wow...||
i can't fathom pinning this loss on the athletic director. the loss hurts and we looked bad. i'll still take this game over emu, wmu, toledo, utah.
you don't get better playing cupcakes. i'll gladly take the loss in exchange for playing one of the best pro teams in the country in a virtual away game. i'll take my lumps. i'll be better for it.
i once coached a youth hockey team. in the first game of the season we got crushed by a much bigger, faster and more experienced team. not even close. we didn't know what hit us. the last game of the season, they were still bigger and faster, but we lost a close game by a goal and we were in the game the whole way.
the kids remembered what it was like to get beat badly. they grew from it and were better for it. nobody whined or complained. we went out and worked to be better every single day. i couldn't have been more proud of my kids after that last game.
|1 year 15 weeks ago||i'll gladly give an mnc||
to play real teams. i'd so much rather watch games that mean something, rather than smack around a hapless emu team. yawn... who cares?
|1 year 15 weeks ago||just watch it on espn||
yes, screw espn with their blackouts. why is sc-vandy blacked out in wisconsin?!
|1 year 16 weeks ago||seriously?||
sounds like lloyd carr was being honest with this particular student athlete.
i'm ok with that.
|1 year 16 weeks ago||it's great...||
...to see teams like florida state, ucla, miami (ytm) at michigan stadium and we can pull these teams all the time. or, we used to... i don't care about teams like eastern michigan, miami (ntm), western michigan, utah, etc. i might go to one of these games because i haven't been to a game in 20 years, but who cares?!
imagine what it would be like for uconn fans to have michigan in their own back yard. i say we play where we agreed to play.
|1 year 18 weeks ago||5 bucks||
i remember doing that work. and it's at minimal cost to me.

|1 year 27 weeks ago||i remember this game fondly...||
i fought the phoenix traffic to get to my friend's house. he was a huge colorado fan and he threatened to turn off the game. i said, 'no way, dude. i drove all the way up here and we're going to watch it.'
|1 year 30 weeks ago||well, they did a darn fine job...||
if you know them, give them my compliments.

at least your post sheds some new light on the situation...

never underestimate the power of the people to manipulate an opinion poll.
i don't see how either of these can defeat the raptor, though.
