Among the many problematic issues that I can find in your posts, the simplest one is your contention that Paterno was the victim of an "unproven allegation that he might have heard an accusation about somebody many years ago and didn't rush to file a police report."
In fact, it is proven beyond a doubt that Paterno knew about Sandusky's behavior, that he talked his supervisors out of reporting it to chld welfare authorities; and that he did report one incident to his superiors, but failed to take it to the police and to follow up at a later date to make certain that the situation would be dealt with. Even Penn State Paterno idol worshippers agree with the last statement, but claim that he had no legal obligation to do anything more than he did.
So, even if no other allegation is proved true - and I bet my bottom dollar that they will be - it is, at the very least, the case that Paterno engaged in one coverup and one unsufficient response to known sexual predation by one of his closest assistants. In addition, it is a fact that Paterno and the AD allowed Sandusky unfettered access to campus facilities long after it was clear that he had engaged in child molestation.
So can the moral outrage at our moral outrage.

although perhaps generally known that the Flo stream is not free: $12.50/month if you do an entire year; otherwise $20 per individual month.
I was pretty disappointed to see that kind of charge. I love watching the softballers, but not at that price.

But hard to follow. Our daughter received her acceptance e-mail (how different from the days of the 80s when we attended), but seems set on going out-of-state. Difficult to keep my mouth shut about the $40k per year that I will save, but we've made it pretty clear that it's her choice.
And to lose those season tickets? Painful.

Make use of the Alumni Office, even if you arent' a member. I have seen them help with deffered admissions - advising on whom to contact, making a call or contact themselves, and so on. Not a guarantee, but it can often help.

these are no farmers. They live in a small town (Leavittsburg) in the northeastern part of the state, near Youngstown, the home of Sweater Vest himself, which explains quite a bit.
And it's made the national press; more of the true Ohio revealed to the world.

I was a tad too young to make Woodstock, but hitchhiked with two friends from Chicago to NY to see The Band, Grateful Dead, and Allman Brothers. The Friday night "sound check" was almost as good as the rest of the concert, as was the massive thunderstorm that chased the Allmans off the stage on Saturday.
There were only supposed to be 150,00 there - the number of available tickets - but over 500,000 showed up. Best free music around.
Second place was a 5-hour Dead concert at the UW Field House in Madison. It was intense enough that a group of us had to intervene to stop two attempted suicides (not the reason why the concert was great, just a symptom of the craziness that accompanied some of their perfomances).
Third was ushering for Dylan at Crisler center in the mid-70s: Great music and some guy offered me $500.00 if I would give him my usher shirt so that he could go down to the stage (refused, of course).

I would recommend you not rise to the bait and call people f******s; it only makes you look defensive, venial, and pouty - and it detracts from any credibility that you may have had in the first place.

showed it even more conclusively: the Penn State player's head and torso were across the restraining line before the kick.
Furthermore, as one NCAA official explained it, there is no real enforcement on a normal long kick, however, " Conversely, on an on-side kick or short kick officials are very strict and enforce the restraining line restriction" (http://en.allexperts.com/q/College-Football-2792/2011/3/offside-kickoff.htm).
So, no gift was given, even though it may have seemed a rather close call.

comes from mod wanna-bees who need to find better things to do with their time than play internet forum police.
Not all of us have time to hit the refresh button a million times a day, besides the fact that interesting articles are often buried beneath nine pages of posts. I generally don't mind reposts of stuff that I might otherwise not find.

Last hosted a Super Bowl in 1992, played in the Big Baggy. I think they'll be awarded the game again, although, if I recall correctly, it was around 20 below outside - plus 72 inside. The city is pretty cool, and they're great at hosting mega events. In fact, they were the site for that year's MBB final four.
Some people will object to the potential for ball-freezing weather, but you really don't have to step outside if you don't want to.

I don't see Virginia over MSU as an upset - they are just as physical and are playing at a fairly high level right now.
Of cours, we can hope that Tommy's Harvard team, assuming it gets past Cinci, can put a stop to Staee even before it comes that that.

I find your statement a bit paranoid. There may have been some disdain for the program in the years following the scandals and the consistent uderperformance that plagued us until Beilein; however, I don't see the same thing nationally or on BTN these days.
Maybe you hear too much Vitale commentary, which would lead us to believe that there is only one program worthy of praise in the entire country.

There is a multi-faceted good character thing going on with him that goes beyond the basic "grit" thing - tons of gritty types out there, but not many with the kind of unselfish, truly team- oriented, gracious, etc. expressions that Morgan displays.
Someone you really like to see as the face of our program, and also a tribute to Beilein's own character.

"shut up you little boys. We are still the premier sports program in the country. How many people would be happy with top 3 in fball and bball?"
One Rose Bowl and top five football finish and that makes you THE PREMIER sports program in the country. Let's ask Stanford, Michigan, and even OSU what that means.

is ESPN even relevant in the recruiting world? They are marginal, generally behind the times, and offer little in the way of insight.
I have always been convinced that they simply do things to piss off most sane and decent sports fans (everything from Pam Ward to their "this is ESPN" voice to something like 75% of their commentators); why give them the time of day?
