I understand the media has been limited by how often they can interact with the team this week, due to covid protocols, but this would be a pretty noticeable absence. Shouldn’t at least one beat reporter be able to confirm if this is true or not?
I got insanely lucky and spotted 2 tickets listed at 6:15pm yesterday for $165. I frantically added them to my cart and after 4 attempts got them. They were gone in less than 5 min.
So I think I might have gotten away with the biggest steal of the Michigan season since the MSU game.
*For the record I don’t think think the refs stole the game from UofM (even though the officiating was bs) but I had to make the joke work.
I really think Dave Aranda is a solid option. He’s young and has been successful evaluating and recruiting everywhere he’s been. He has a great defensive mind, his defenses ranked 6th, 17th, 1st respectively his three years at Wisco and their next two defenses with Aranda’s guys ranked 4th and 3rd.
His time at LSU was interesting, the defense did worse statistically each year but the SEC has transitioned to a more high scoring league during his time there. Plus LSU’s offenses his first two years there were quite anemic.
Aranda is coaching his first season as a head coach at Baylor and they’re 2-5 but the nature of this season has been rough for most first year coaches. He doesn’t have a ton of HC experience but if Campbell doesn’t work out, he is a viable candidate that should be seriously considered.
I think this one is gonna really hurt when Cole is a 40+% 3pt shooter at another school. That jump shot was silky smooth. Obviously we don’t see as much as the coaches in practice but Nunez getting minutes over Bajema will always be a head scratcher for me
Todd was always suspect if he would actually come and JC was never committed to us. I guess I am use to Michigan getting boned in these situations so my expectations were low
Recruiting 5 stars is a tricky business and hopefully this experience taught Juwan a lot. Maybe next year we'll be able to actually sign one or two. Either way, not a bad first class for Juwan even if it was a little bit of a letdown
Not having anyone who can drive to the hoop and create offense is brutal. Iggy and Charles were good guys to turn to when shots weren't falling. This team has no one except maybe Franz but he doesn't play aggressive enough
There are a lot of mouth breather Michigan fans on Twitter that make the fan base look bad. Athletes are use to this by now (unfortunately) so it’s not a big deal. His dad was probably taking out some frustrations online. Guess we’ll see if there is more to it in time
Smart move IMO. If you break your hand, you can’t get your ankles broken again. In all seriousness it sucks that happened. Always feel for players when it happens right before post season play. Hopefully he can come back
I am 100% convinced that Izzo has no idea how to coach one and dones. There is absolutely no reason why Bridges and JJJ shouldn't have been top 10 picks. JJJ in my mind, with the right development, is a top 5 pick. His size and skillset is incredible. If he comes back then there is no reason why another high profile recruit would want to go to MSU. You don't develop, you don't play, and you have an angry little man scream at you constantly.
He also is a no show anytime Michigan does well. Especially when he attacked Beilein all year and when we finally did well, he was nowhere to be found. He makes solid points and critizes things that shoud be criticized but he also is only around to bitch about shit. He enjoys misery and doesn't know what to do anytime else. If Michigan wins a national title, he won't know what to do with himself. At the end of the day he is a miserable dick that only enjoys complaining. If he balanced out his act then maybe he wouldn't receive so much criticism. However, that is not the case.
Austin Allen has a good 2016 under Enos. If he can do that with Allen, I'm optimistic for what he can do for us. But then again I'm not sure what his role will be for us, either way it's a change.
Give the ball to Higdon and hope O'Korn can finally connect with DPJ on a deep ball. For all O'Korn does bad, which is a lot, I can't get that beautiful pass to DPJ on the run out of my head. I hope he can figure something out and just be a solid game manager, but I'm not holding my breath. Hopefully we can establish the running game and have at least an even time of possession battle so our defense doesn't wear out.
I'm in this boat too. Honestly, O'Korn was leading us down the field and both fumbles crushed promising drives. He put together a nice drive to get us our only touchdown and then the weather changed. Obviously three interceptions is not a good day no matter what but throwing in a monsoon isn't easy. His interceptions also didn't have as severe of an impact as either of the fumbles. He even led us at the end to give us a chance and his receivers didn't help him out, McDoom :(. It was a bad performance but I haven't written him off like a lot of people have.
Speight is our guy, there is no better option. I think everyone has accepted that. I think people are just frustrated that qb play will be a weakness until Speight shows us that he can be a consistent threat. Hopefully he figures it out and he can build some chemistry with the young receivers. Next year will be interesting but it will take a lot for another qb to pass Speight considering he will have two years of starting experience. Either way, we have plenty of season to go and a lot can change. Maybe something will click and Speight will turn it around and none of this will matter.
The offense definitely deserves their fair share of blame considering we were unable to get first downs in crunch time and run out the clock. The defense was one of the best units in the country last year, so I think your assessment is pretty unfair.
This team is young but talented and hungry. Every fan has a different breakout player which tells you how much talent we have. We're going to kick Florida's ass and a bunch of stars will be born. We are so close and I can't wait, go blue!
JBB is the starting RT. Gary just said it on BTN. A lot of us thought this so it's not a surprise. Things might change but I believe it. He showed serious potential last year.
If you want to pretend that he doesn't struggle with deep throws then go ahead. You linked 4 examples of nice throws against weak secondaries (yes I'm calling Wisconsin's secondary weak, their front 7 was terrific but the secondary struggled), 3 of which were at home. Speight appears to be comfortable at home and made good plays on all of those. You will also notice that we won all those games but I could link four throws against Iowa but I don't think anyone is interested in seeing those.
I disagree with the others that its something that you have or you don't, and I think Speight will improve. But denying that he struggles with the deep ball seems foolish.
Watched the Iowa game on BTN yesterday and it was hard to watch Speight miss on every deep ball. He threw long, he threw short, and he threw behind. He wasn't hurt till late in the 4th so he was healthy for pretty much the whole game. I hope he has made strides with his deep ball accuracy in camp because guys like Black and DPJ can really take the top off of a defense. Speight made some incredicle throws with his intermediate passes, so I'm confident in Harbaugh's ability to round out the rest of his game.
Just met Big Cat and PFT. Ran into them at Tim Horton's in Ypsi. They said harbaugh was great and they talked for almost an hour. PFT said it was one of his favorite interviews. Big Cat also said they are trying to meet with Urban when they go to Columbus but the OSU representative they talked to declined the meeting. Really cool dudes
We graduated most of our dline and these guys are young and will be around for a few years. So the difference is we have two 5 star players to build a dline around.
