He won a national championship as a junior and 11 games as a senior (and that was without a running game).

they could go to med school and spend years studying and in residency, or they could make millions upon millions of dollars yearly playing a game they love, then coasting into an easy post-playing days life of "analysis" and commentating. Tough choice, I'm sure.
|4 years 12 weeks ago||Right.||
Moreover, the media would go absolutely apeshit. Fox News would explode. Nancy Grace would be shooting meth on camera just to stay awake 24/7 so she could cover every minute of it. It would not be pretty.

I don't think she was trying to destroy their lives. I think she was trying to get money by victimizing people who had it. It's an awful thing to do, sure.
|4 years 12 weeks ago||Unfortunately, that's an entirely different dynamic||
A case in which the defendants were black or Mexican and poor would have been handled entirely differently from this one, in which the defendants are white and affluent. If the charges proved erroneous, my opinion would of course change as, unlike the defendants in the Duke case, they would not be able to absorb the damage to their reputation in the same way, if at all.
But again, I do not harbor any particular resentment for this person. She is clearly a ritual screw-up, and finds herself in good company with the rest of humanity in that regard.
|4 years 12 weeks ago||I won't dispute that the allegations made their lives tough||
But, given that they got into Duke and had names like "Reid Seligmann", I have a feeling that, after those harrowing months, they got on pretty well.
I'm just having a tough time dredging up care from give-a-shit-bay for rich, white men. They went to Duke. Chances are they transferred to schools of relatively equal quality. I think they can absorb the shock of having to live a hard life for a couple months. This case has been used in the past and will continue to be used - as one isolated instance where one woman actually bullshitted a rape story against these guys - in attempts to delegitimize further claims of rape and sexual impropriety by women, especially those of color and those who are economically disadvantaged.
So yeah, this woman is clearly a screw-up. The OP - and others who want her punished for her lies years after the fact - seem particularly vindictive in this case, and while I won't bother to guess at their motivations, that disturbs me.

Hey Faggots, My name is John, and I hate every single one of you. All of you are fat, retarded, no-lifes who spend every second of their day looking at stupid ass pictures. You are everything bad in the world. Honestly, have any of you ever gotten any pussy? I mean, I guess it's fun making fun of people because of your own insecurities, but you all take to a whole new level. This is even worse than jerking off to pictures on facebook.
Don't be a stranger. Just hit me with your best shot. I'm pretty much perfect. I was captain of the football team, and starter on my basketball team. What sports do you play, other than "jack off to naked drawn Japanese people"? I also get straight A's, and have a banging hot girlfriend (She just blew me; Shit was SO cash). You are all faggots who should just kill yourselves. Thanks for listening.

To declare one level of the game definitively better than the other is inherently ridiculous. You may prefer watching college football more, but that doesn't make it "better" than pro football. I'll wager if you grew up outside Foxboro, you'll find Patriots games a whole lot more compelling than even Ohio State-Michigan, while in SEC country, you wouldn't trade Florida-Alabama for Falcons-Saints in a million years. Sports fandom is an increasingly regionalist entity; in the Midwest, we're essentially divided down the middle between college and pro fandom, having a recent history of success at both levels (except for the Lions and Browns, I suppose).
