The USNews ranking system is biased against public schools; that's not a new idea.
Look at their ranking methodology:

I don't think the visual aid matches the description. The image seems to make more sense than the way you described it though; an 8-team bracket would have only 4 losers after the first round, so for the bottom 4 losers to be eliminated and the top 4 losers to play the next round, well.. I don't understand.
Did you mean that the bottom 2 losers get eliminated?

Trgovac a possiblity for what? For a truly informative post, it seems like "Trgovac a possibility for new DC" would be necessary. But no matter how much complaining there is, I don't think every poster is ever going to be that clear in their titles.
|7 years 3 weeks ago||I'm definitely with all of||
I'm definitely with all of you that informative titles make the board a lot better. I just don't think it's as big of a deal as people make it out to be.
"Trgovac" ended up being a post about Trgovac. True, it's ambiguous, but in no way is this the least informative one out there.
|7 years 3 weeks ago||Promote RichRod, look at||
Promote RichRod, look at anyaskman's post titled "not so much" like 3 posts above yours and tell me your last post doesn't sound like an argument for his point. The headline for this thread isn't misleading or purposefully fake. I looked at the title and instantly knew it was about Trgovac. It told me what his post was going to be about; that seems informative enough to me.
I don't post too often on this board; I really just like to read and browse, and the non-informative thread titles are annoying, but certainly are not the big deal people are making it.

That is the general consensus on this board, yeah, but how do we actually know this? I'd love to believe that Rich Rodriguez didn't run him away, but as far as I've seen, there isn't much proof.
What proof is out there?

I don't know, but I feel like if we ALL talk about how the rivalry is above anything else, and we ALL love to root against the Buckeyes, it's.. not actually that much more to feel good when they lose and, heaven forbid, feel good together by talking about it.
An OSU loss in an OSU loss, regardless of whether we've beaten them. This is the spirit of the rivalry, isn't it? Or should we pretend we're above feeling good when they lose?
If you're against trash talking in general, then whatever; otherwise, leave him alone.

You're right in that no one's opinion here will change the world: so why take everything you discuss so seriously? There's no reason to get so excited about someone else's opinion.
Instead of trying to prove me wrong, why not take a moment to think about why someone would call you out like this. If your arrogance doesn't allow you to acknowledge that your love for online fighting is a detriment to this board and that the way you write is extremely condescending, then I guess nothing will change.
And also, you're saying that my original comment made so little sense that you..laughed. Right. Don't try so hard next time, Magnus.
|7 years 7 weeks ago||I'm sorry for hurting your||
I'm sorry for hurting your feelings, but your notions of an answer involves proving to everyone else that you know more than they do about football, even when the question involves nothing other than personal opinion. You should realize that "Which loss was worse?" is prompting a discussion, not a definite answer. But no, you feel the need to rush in and save the day with your gloriously superior judgment.
|7 years 7 weeks ago||Magnus, I really would like||
Magnus, I really would like to know how you came to be such a tool.
Before he wrote anything, he wrote, "To me . . ."
Anyway, the Toledo loss isn't IN MY OPINION (Magnus, this means I don't want to deal with your bs please don't flame me) worse than the App. State game, but it sucked almost as much because it completely sucked what little hope was left that came after the win against Wisconsin.

|7 years 8 weeks ago||I don't really know; I was||
I don't really know; I was just thinking along the lines that if Dantonio is recruiting within the same geographical boundaries as MSU coaches always have, nothing other than a change in our preferred type of player could explain their surge in recruiting.
|7 years 8 weeks ago||Then we're talking about the||
Then we're talking about the same thing, because by that categorization there's no such thing as a 'system guy' for anything. Regardless of what we want to call it, RR is emphasizing a different type of player: HIS type of player. As in, those who would fit his system. So it's not really that farfetched to call them 'system guys'.
Anyway, my point is that he's recruiting a lot more of those quick small guys, and maybe more significantly, he's trying to do it on a much more national scale, which leaves more quality instate kids who would otherwise come to Michigan go to MSU. At least, I'm wondering if that is what's happening.
|7 years 8 weeks ago||Wait what do you mean "I'm||
Wait what do you mean "I'm not sure why anyone would think RR is getting 'system guys'"? Obviously he's recruiting for his .. spread system, right? Otherwise he could have just run the option spread with the Carr era guys (he did, and it didn't work all that well).
And unless everybody is wrong, word is RichRod likes small and speedy guys who can make plays in space. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like he's going after different types of players.
|7 years 8 weeks ago||LOL||
|7 years 8 weeks ago||I haven't done a search, but||
I haven't done a search, but RichRod is going after system guys now, right? And if this is the case, that'd probably leave many more (pretty good) instate recruits with MSU. Can anyone foresee a future where Michigan AND Michigan State are both nationally powerful (much like OU and OSU were throughout this past season)?
|7 years 8 weeks ago||If this is the case, it could||
If this is the case, it could be agued that Sparty's recruiting class is stronger than ours, couldn't it?

ok people like ShockFX are the reason these message boards get so out of hand. and when i say people like ShockFX, i mean people who love to prove others wrong (evidenced by, 'you lose, now please shut the fuck up') and people who are unwilling to attempt to understand what others could be trying to say.
here's an example that makes me think magnus might not be so wrong: terrelle pryor chose osu over michigan in large part because he wants to reach the nfl, and because of that, wants to throw more than he runs while in college. what's the main reason throwing more in college would help him reach the nfl?
it gives him practice emulating a pro-style quarterback.
why should that not make scouts more confident in pryor's abilities?

I think MichiganDifference is right. Have you guys seen MSU's recruits for next year? Dantonio's doing a pretty good job. That's not to say, though, that he wasn't a complete douche calling those timeouts.
