seeing how he is Canadian and all, it's a natural path for him. In fact, close sources suggest it's the only path...
|2 weeks 16 hours ago||They were in my dorm||
as freshman and definitely arrived with B1G approved physiques. Honeslty, I think Butch should have played football as an insane MIKE. He didn't have the hands to make a great tight end a la Paul Jokisch.
Based on this year's team, I am ok with skinny but talented freshman. Bulk may nice but perhaps an overrated luxury compared to years past.
|3 weeks 14 min ago||I was at that game||
and sat in a section surrounded by Wisconsin students. I have to admit it was one of the funnest games (football aside) I have ever been to thanks to the Badger students. Not just because they were launching water balloons onto the field either (I don't recall anyone getting kicked out but couldn't swear by it.)
I should probably mention I grew up in Lansing and was in junior high at the time. Kirk Gibson was on that Sparty team, fwiw. They were nailed for NCAA violations following that season...

Damn straight we need to be State.
|5 weeks 1 day ago||Funny thing is I agree||
with you. Reading my post over it looks like I started out on track but went astray. To clarify, I don't think the poverty angle really works when you consider there are more caucasians (let's add hispanic and asians to make it even more lopsided) than african americans living in poverty in the U.S.
|5 weeks 1 day ago||Gotta love statistics||
but consider this. While a significantly higher percentage of african americans live in poverty compared to caucasians, I can (almost) assure you that there are more caucasians living in poverty than african americans... simply because there are so many more caucasians in the U.S. Now, if you adjust for living in an urban setting that might change... of course there's always Larry Bird to represent the rural white boy contingent.
Personally, I would argue that basketball talent comes from growing up playing basketball (combined with some physical talent of course). Go jump into pickup games in Indiana or Utah where middle aged white guys will take you to school if you don't have any game (I don't, btw, but have been exposed to enough ;-)

Would be the loss of an assistant coach. Let's hope that doesn't happen but you have to think Jordan (and Bicari) is on plenty of AD hiring lists.

That gets you most of the way there in explaining how/why the U can expel students based on a preponderance of evidence. There's no right to trial by a jury of your peers, beyond a doubt, etc.
|7 weeks 4 days ago||And there's your player development||
Did Max' dad play for MSU under Perles? (or uncle, whoever it was)
|8 weeks 5 days ago||Well, I am 5'7"||
and I have dunked many times... in my dreams (literally). It's soooo disappointing to wake and realize it was just a dream. I did have a highschool classmate who stood 5'8" on a good day who could put it down strong with some sweet two handed reverses. Or course he had serious spring in his legs.

And if you're too young to understand or remember, that's a good thing.

important measure for a tackle in addition to height. IIRC, Dawson has a pretty big wingspan.

Is that you?
|12 weeks 4 days ago||Upvoted - because||
I can't upvote Ryan Van Bergen.
|13 weeks 5 days ago||Spike?||
As it relates to strong individual defenders I submit Spike as an exception to your statement. However, I do agree at the relative lack of emphasis by the coaches as it relates to lockdown defense. That's not to say they don't stress defense and coach it, just that the offensive system is higher priority.

says someone who has long since been disqualified as young.
|14 weeks 20 hours ago||I had a long conversation||
with someone living in Louisville on Monday. According to him, everyone down there wants Petrino... he was pushing for Tressel! His logic was you take the pressure off by knowing up front your first five games are losses (show cause) and that Tressel could immediately shore up recruiting and "bring respectibility."
Did I forget to mention the guy is an OSU grad? LOL....
|14 weeks 6 days ago||Agreed. Of some concern||
is the rumbling from his time with Baltimore. If I remember correctly the feeling was he was too inclined to sit back on D rather than take an aggressive approach. Can any Ravens fans support or contradict my fuzzy recollection? Please weigh in.
|15 weeks 3 days ago||If there is a shift,||
it's fan perception catching up with the reality of what our program now is. Teams that used to expect to lose, now come into the Big House expecting to win... because they do.
|15 weeks 4 days ago||I am guessing||
most of the UM ticket sales went to alums/fans living in California and Arizona. It's a quick and reasonable flight from California and they don't get to see their team very often.

The question doesn't translate well across the years, but if forced to answer I would say yes, in comparison to where we are today.
|18 weeks 5 days ago||Congratulations and welcome aboard Karl!||
Based on his dad he should have some more growing up left to do (physically that is... Karl is probably more mature than his dad already ;-)
Nice work steering Karl to the good guys Ray.
|19 weeks 7 hours ago||Looking at that spread||
makes me wonder who's recruiting who? As someone who just finished choking down a frozen dinner that looks incredible!
|19 weeks 1 day ago||Bad timing! Can you say Duke?!||
9:00 tonight. Your post is ridiculous, today of all days.
|19 weeks 2 days ago||Or maybe||
they drive up to the mountains for some beautiful scenery on the ski slopes. Then there's that thing called the sun that becomes scarce around these parts in January. January in socal can be mid-50's and rainy (bringing fresh snow to the nearby mountains) or 70 and beautiful. You are very correct about the traffic thing, but that's not an issue if you're on or near campus.
Sorry man, you may live there now but I was out there for 15 years (Redondo Beach/Costa Mesa) before returning to A2. I'm jonesing for some sun, sailing and motorcycling right now. With that out of the way, Peppers is coming to A2. Carry on...
