That's a great point…

That's a great point regarding transfers. With the potential of one free transfer year, I can see schools/businesses trying to poach kids based on a sponsorship deal. This is like every kid getting a year of free agency...lol.

Seriously considering…

Seriously considering dropping my tickets as well. I would guess that I can buy tickets on the secondary market for the games I want to attend for much cheaper than the whole cost of my three season tickets. Tough decision to make, but as it is now I can't make all the games anyway. So what's the point of holding onto my tickets if I can still go to the games of my choice for a much cheaper whole price than the whole season ticket price.

I'm taking the opposite…

I'm taking the opposite approach from most of the other comments. Do what you want to do, it's your life. You stated they are distant family and that you aren't all that close to the cousin. Why would you go the game for nothing more than show. If it was a close relative that you have a regular relationship with then of course go to the game. But I for sure wouldn't go to the game just for the sake of them being distant family.

I still don't see them…

I still don't see them either.

"Aw, hell. 45 minutes into…

"Aw, hell. 45 minutes into Purdue-Northwestern and there goes the righteousness. Then it's nine PM on Friday and Utah State is driving for the lead. For some reason the MSU students are chanting "Fuck Harbaugh" as they do this. The scaffolding is there because the great tower of ridiculous fun it surrounds conquers all. Let's fight to make it better; to abandon it would be a crime. Go Blue."

Hell yes! BFC is back! LFG!

I still can't see anything…

I still can't see anything for up or down voting either.

Brian's admitted lack of…

Brian's admitted lack of interest and apathy towards Michigan football and college football in general leads me to believe that he really couldn't care less about the banner. And perhaps deep down he really doesn't even care about this site and why it was created. I realize that covering Michigan athletics is his job, but for the rest of us Michigan athletics is a release from our normal day to day life. The reason we come here is to learn, read, discuss, and speculate on a common interest we all have. Ever since the South Carolina game Brian has changed the whole vibe and feel of this site's culture. If it wasn't for the message board I probably wouldn't continue to even come here. It's too bad the Owner/Editor in Chief of this site probably cares the least out of any of us who visit this page.

God forbid a for profit…

God forbid a for profit business has policies in place that takes advantage of a high demand weekend. It clearly states that the rooms are non-refundable. If that's a problem then don't make the reservation. Smart business by them, if the room does get cancelled then they get to sell the room and double the profits for the same amount of occupancy.

This is more of a family/fan…

This is more of a family/fan friendly event than a practice. But it will be fun to take kids to the stadium, let them run around on the field along with seeing the players do some light drills.

Was just going to write that…

Was just going to write that, it's not a concussion device as it would be pointless with Shea wearing it. I thought perhaps it may be an audio device for the coaches to communicate with the QB like the NFL QB's have, but is not allowed in college games.

I think Brandy is great in…

I think Brandy is great in the color role, but awful at PBP. I'd slide Brandy back over to color and bring in Shep or Dickerson to do PBP in a heartbeat.

Caught the episode with…

Caught the episode with Jimbo Fisher that was on last night, this should be a good watch.

It's a Sunday monring in mid April, I'm staring at a layer snow/ice on the ground and it's 31 degrees. The Tigers haven't even played any warm weather games yet, not sure if spring/summer will ever arrive. And yet, I cannot wait for September 1st to get here and see what this team can do. Even with the schedule, this could be a magical season.

1 Regular season loss

Face Off Goals

Michigan gave up two goals off of face offs, that can't happen if you want to win games. The first was a 4v4 situation where somehow coverag was lost, or the Michigan players got confused. Second was the third ND goal off an offensive zone face off. Pretty sure Michigan was trying to go forward with it considering the inside winger did not impeed the ND inside winger which allowed hime to fly full speed through the circle and get the puck. That left the Michigan defensemane flat footed and in a bad spot which they could not recover. Frustrating way to lose a game for sure.

Add Patterson

I don't understand the "don't bring Patterson here" camp. Without Speight, O'Korn, and Malzone they are down to one quarterback who has actually taken a snap. Peters, McCaffrey, and two true freshman are what will be on the roster this spring. It's a no brainer to bring an experienced guy in, and a top end guy just makes all the more sense if available. Every top team in the country has a stable of QB's that were highly ranked out of HS. Why is it a bad thing to have three or four legit guys on Michigan's roster who can play.

Anti-16 Crowd

There are two reasons that people have cited against a 16 team format that I just don't understand. 1) Devalues regular season games and 2) Devalues the other bowls.

Devalues Regular Season: I just don't get it, if anything it puts more value on the regular season games because teams would still have to fight to try and be ranked 16 at the end of the season. If anything it brings more value to the regular season becuase teams who otherwise would be out it are still in it at the end trying to claim one of those last spots in.

Devalues Other Bowls: How? The first two rounds of the 16 team playoff would happen when other bowls haven't even started yet. Then the last two rounds go on as they already do. If you're concerned about matchups, let me ask you this...are you planning on watchng this year's Outback Bowl? Becuase if you are then you're watching two teams in Michigan and South Carolina who otherwise wouldn't be in the 16 team playoff. And let's face it, we would all watch the other bowls the same as we currently do now. Whether you actually watch them or not.

Pro 16 Teams

I think 16 teams would be great. Have the first round on campus, seeing a southern team or west coast team have to travel north on campus would be awesome. Same token seeing a northern team have to go to LSU or USC or whatever would equally be great. The matchups would be great theatre. During the regular season when we see a 14 vs 3 matchup it's labled as a great game of the week. There would be some upsets no doubt. Conference championships would still matter, A) For your team wiinging your confrence and B) Seeding reasons. That just makes winning the confernce championship that more important. Then obviously the major bowls would take over from there to host. With the parity in college football I think any team in the 16 range has a real chacne to win their opening round. The irrelavent bowls that go on today, would still go on with the same irrelavance.

Could be that the name of the

Could be that the name of the practice/youth rink that is also going to be part of the new facility will be named Little Caesars Arena. Seeing how all of the youth Little Caesars teams will be playing ouf of there.

What Is The Definition of Camp or Clinic?

Would it be possible to host an event in other regions of the country for high school kids and coaches to attend that doesn't involve onfield or physical activity?

For instance, maybe a seminar or conference in which football is talked about that could include film breakdown and coaching enhancement that isn't physical in nature. It would still serve a purpose of getting to meet kids and coaches in person so they get a feel for what the staff is all about.

Just once I wish a reporter

Just once I wish a reporter would ask why it is ok for all the other sports to travel during school breaks to play and some to practice but it's not ok for football. I haven't seen anywhere if someone has, but I'd like to at least see someone do it.

Here's a novel concept for

Here's a novel concept for the BIG hockey teams, don't offer 15 year olds who by the time they graduate high school may or may not have turned into the player you thought they were. What is the priority, to send kids to the NHL or WIN? All the smaller name teams have had so much success becuase they don't get the blue chip prospect who either leaves after 1-2 years, or isn't the player they thought he was. The talent gap isn't that great that them playing with a young blue chip roster makes up for the lack of strength and experience of the experienced teams with kids that stay all four years.

Michigan wins and MSU loses.

Michigan wins and MSU loses. I have a feeling that MSU is going to turn into a pumpkin about 7pm on Saturday. I can't get over the amount of random events that has left them with only one loss ie: dropped punt snap, downpour and 30mph winds at OSU which neutralized any attempt of a passing game for either team, all while State's stud qb is out with injury. That and the fact that the whole MSU fan base is acting as if they are already the BIG Champs and going to the playoff. Someone once said, "Pride comes before the fall"........can't quite remember who that was though.

The only way Michigan has a

The only way Michigan has a chance to get in is if they obviously win out which includes an undefeated OSU and undefeated Iowa team. And then if the committee's human factor decides that Michigan's loss to MSU was a flue that was actually a win. Therefore concluding they are only a one loss team and deserve a spot.

That is how I feel every

That is how I feel every Sunday when watching the Lions when the innevitable stat graphic appears stating that Player X or Team X set some kind of record in this game vs the Lions.

Here's what people are

Here's what people are forgetting. In the playoff rankings there is a human factor. So if M beats OSU, OSU beast MSU there is a chance the committee may have Michigan ranked ahead of both. The reason I say that is the human factor may be in play where they all look at the Michigan loss to MSU as a fluke since the reality is they had the game won without a botched snap. Not saying it's likely but there is a chance. Obviously none of this means anything unless Michigan takes care of business the rest of the way.

You can talk about stats all

You can talk about stats all you want, but the fact is the big difference was the fact that one of the best punters in the country simply dropped the snap. No if's, and's, or but's about it, if he doesn't drop the snap Michigan wins. I'm not faulting him for the loss, it was just a mistake that happened to have the outcome of the game on the line. Without him this season who knows where the team would be at this point. I'm banking on MSU losing to OSU, Michigan beating OSU, and then advancing to the BIG Championship game based on the overall rankings. That would be some poetic justice if I'v ever seen it.

Based on the date's you two

Based on the date's you two joined I can't tell if you're serious about not knowing what M00N is or not. With that I'll fill you in, last year the game between Michigan and Northwester was so bad the score was 0-0 and when the score graphic appeared on TV it showed M00N. Therefore Brian has since referred to this game as the M00N game, or any other game that resembles how bad that game was as a reference to the M00N game. That being said, this week has no chance of being a M00N game, but could very well be a N00M game.

Most guys who project to be

Most guys who project to be high round draft picks take out an insurance policy on themselves in case of major/career ending injury. Pretty sure Connor Cook was quoted as saying he has one. So I would say the asnwer is no.

I though he was exaclty what

I though he was exaclty what we expected yesterday. Some people at the game and even some on here were complaining about how he missed a couple wide open guys yesterday. I saw that too in the second half, but my thought was that perhaps being up 31-0 that he was being conservative and didn't want to force anything...which is fine by me. Hopefully he will continue to progress. The one thing I was extremely happy to see was the offense open up the playbook. I figured agains OSU and UNLV that they were so vanilla becuase that's all they had to do. Sure enough, get a real opponent on the field and then you see what they can really do. By the way, Smith going beast mode on the poor DB was great!

Hockey is my niche so I'll

Hockey is my niche so I'll throw some of my input in here about this. First ASU is going to be extremely competitve extremely quick. They will have no problem attracting top recruits to play there....who wouldn't want to live there year round along with the other benefits. It would be good for them to join the BIG as the other teams in conference are national brands similar to the rest of the BIG teams which will be a lot better attraction to non-hockey people who may not know anything about at team like Colorado College or St Cloud State in the NCHC. Same goes for the BIG adding them. As far as Nebraska goes, it would make total sense for them to add hockey. Their USHL team already plays in a 5,000 seat arena right on campus and has sold out for years. 0% chacne that if Nebraska had a team that they wouldn't support it. And there is a 7000 seat arena being built just outside of Iowa City so I would imagine they will have a team in the next few years as well.

What I miss about the Big

What I miss about the Big House from when I went as a child is the ringing of the car keys prior to a kickoff. Does anyone remember when that went away? Sounds like something little but I always remembered that.

I've been a long time reader

I've been a long time reader here and recently started an account. I get tired of the constant talk from people who complain about going to games. It's no secret that watching the game on TV, being close to your fridge, being home on your couch, and getting stuff done on a Saturday are the reasons people say they stay home...oh and cost! The fact is, I don't go to the games becuase it is more convenient or get to see any anaylyze every play. I go to games for the event, for the tailgate, for the social interaction with friends, to hear the band play in person, feel the Ann Arbor Gameday Saturday, and yes to enjoy the game in only the way you can by being there. Nobody gives a crap as to why you choose to stay home, to tell us over and over again that it is more convenient to stay home is played out around here by now and couldn't be more of an obvious statement. People go to games for the event, not becuase it's more convenient. So enjoy your 65" flat screen, cold beer in the fridge (10ft away), no lines, and chores around the house. I'll be at the tailgate enjoying the fall afternoon talking with other Michigan friends and fans about life's events, eating good food, and watching good football. Oh, and I'll do all that while i get stuck in traffic, have to wait in line to take a piss, and get rained on....and I'll love every minute of it. So stay the F off my lawn with why you stay home, quit drinking and go to bed with that shit already.

Just checked StubHub and

Just checked StubHub and there are only 3,000 tickets on there. The way the OP made it sound it seemed like there wasn't going to be anyone at the game. It will be a light crowd with the weather and opponent but I'm hoping nothing like we saw last year.

Michigan 34 - UNLV 0

Michigan 34 - UNLV 0

I've seen multiple posts

I've seen multiple posts about the BYU game having a lot of tickets available. Seems strange to me since that is one of the games I'm most excited about this year. I'm sure it will be packed once it actually comes down to game time, but they should be a ranked opponent coming in and is a huge game from Michigan's standpoint in regard to getting ranked. In other words, I think it's going to be a big game so I don't get the lack of ticket interest at this point.

All I could think about when

All I could think about when watching that play was Tate Forcier vs Notre Dame. Granted, Tate's was from furhter out but same result.

In not trying to be too

In not trying to be too reasonable in the loss, but I must say the difference from last year to this year's team is astronmical. They actually looked like a competent football team and that is a huge step up from last year. Ruddock even with the three picks looks like a legit QB that will be a huge step up from recent years. He definitely passed the eye test, now the three picks aren't ideal but at least he looks the part. Yes, the pick six was killer but they were driving down 7 late in the fourth with a chance to tie the game and I honestly thought they were going to do so. The other killer scenario that I thought had a huge impact was the decision to not go for it on 4th down opposed to kicking the field goal. Utah went down and scored a TD after the missed field goal. Who knows how it would have played out if they were successful on the 4th down opportunity. I believe this team will get better week to week and could very well go into the MSU game with one loss. Good chance both Michigan and MSU will enter that game each having one loss.
