My first game as a freshman…

My first game as a freshman was Sept. 1, 2007.

I also got a pretty nasty sunburn.

Later that same year, I had the privilege of freezing to death while Beanie Wells busted a long run through a vacated second level at the gap for a back-breaking Ohio State touchdown.

I twice witnessed MSU marching into Ann Arbor and dominating in a way no one had seen since the Duffy Daugherty years.

I was present for Northwestern 2008 in the freezing rain.

I saw Tate Forcier hand Ohio State the ball 5 times in a Tresselball classic that we lost 21-10.

I watched a nailbiter senior year over UMass with a group of UMass undergrads in front of me IN THE STUDENT SECTION.

My last home game as a senior was Scott Tolzien not bothering to throw a pass in the second half while GERG tickled Kenny Demens with a stuffed beaver.

Bielien

I think Bielien has changed the tied on the rivarly. Hlel poeple in Oiho are strating to beleive him. Never in a milloin years I would have thought taht. Selling mispelde Aaorn Carft jersyes is a good strat.

I think we need

Gold Medal Muppets.

He was actually in my partial differential equations class

and I didn't realize it until the very end when he was talking about the Gator Bowl trip.

yeah

happy field goal very slide such win much wat positive rushing yards weeaahhhhll tremendous generated with the Imgflip Meme Generator

In the first half

Michigan State had a fumble forced near the sideline, but Michigan players squirted it out of bounds as they tried to recover.

It's only weird

if it doesn't work

Ferbert won a B1G (then Western Conference) title.

Hoke needs to do that too.

Question on "competitive situations"

Do you count only a 14 point spread as being "within two scores" or do you go to 16?

FIG THING IRISH

Excellent as always

Speaking of southpaw QBs wearing #7, I wonder how many people of my parents' generation will have flashbacks over the next few years:

Laudes atque carmina,

Nec hodie nec cras

Sed omnia per tempora

Dum locum habeas

Tibi sint dulcissima,

O Universitas.

At, hostes, pol, perniciter

Eant "Eis Korakas!"

O Gloria, Victoria

O Decus omnium

O Salve Universitas

Michiganensium, Michiganensium!

Yes, and yes if I hear the full version during pregame

Also Glee Clubber (my handle and avi is basically the Schembechler of the organization). Behold the full Varsity/Victors in all its glory:

Awesome stuff!

Good to see proceeds going to a good cause!

Some history: UMMGC also sang at Tiger Stadium for Game 5 of the 1984 World Series:

More recently, we also sang for a Diamondbacks-Dodgers game in Phoenix:

Epic double point?

Epic double point.

Poking a little fun might be one thing, if done tastefully.

Putting a "totally acceptable poke at your rival" in a list with the actions of sex offenders and other unsavory characters and then saying it could be only displaced from the top of said list by someone doing spiteful things to Desmond and Herbstreit is way over the line.

This is quite frankly an embarrassment.

You do not, I repeat, DO NOT, juxtapose a 12-year old kid fighting brain cancer with convicted sex offenders. It is the context of seeing "Kid with Brain Cancer" in the same list as some of the most dubious personalities in society, regardless of whether or not they are associated with our rivals to the south.

/clears throat

(To the tune of "Good King Wenceslas")

Johnny is a CEO, went to MIT.

Susie went to Harvard Law, got herself a J.D.

Bobby went to Michigan, got himself an M.D.

Mary went to MSU, got herself an S.T.D.

???

You'll notice that Otto's head goes

back, and to the left...
back, and to the left...

back, and to the left...

The exasperated man next to facepalm guy also jolts, but PRIOR to being "kicked" by Otto. His head moves back, and to the right...

If you're telling me one Beilein Jedi punch caused all this commotion, you're telling me to believe in one magic Jedi punch.

The implication is clear: there was a second puncher!

Watching the GRIII gif

2009 was an awesome season

Woooo!

Congratulations to the University of Michigan Women's Volleyball team on their first ever NCAA Final Four!

Having been there during the days of Zimmerman, Hunt, and Paz, this group is something else! Taking down Stanford in 4 in NoCal is a real milestone achievement for this team and for the Rosens, who have taken this program all the way up to un-dreamed-of heights!

Good luck next week against Texas (and hopefully, Oregon/Penn State), and Go Blue!

MGOBLUE!

Suddenly I'm hearing

"Across 110th Street" playing in my head

In the weight room...

he is the barbell.

Mythbusters needs to get on that '74 game

I maintain that we can use multiple camera angles and basic geometry to prove that Lantry made that kick.

In the weight room...

with black curtains near the station.

Black-roof community, no gold pavements, tired starlings.

One of my lasting memories from U-M

was a chance to perform with a small group of the Men's Glee Club my freshman year (2007) for the 60th anniversary reunion of the National Championship Mad Magicians.  I distinctly remember Bob sitting no more than a quick toss in front of me.  Singing all the old Michigan Songs obviously rekindled fond memories for them, and there were very few dry eyes in the audience.  I thought it was amazing that these men (who didn't look that much bigger than us, a stark reminder of how different the game was then), who had reached the apex of what Michigan football can be, were so connected also with the campus culture that a simple rendition of "I'll Ne'er Forget My College Days" would resonate with them so.

It was an honor to sing that night for you, Bob.  May you always execute your heavenly fakes.

"At Michigan, all hearts are true; all loyal to the Maize and Blue.  There e'er will be a golden haze around those dear old college days."

and turned around

and beat Cooper in the 1997 Rose Bowl.
