I think in an interview Gary said he was about 285 right now, so I think we can have a pretty good idea how big he will be.

"Only gets yardage off of gimmicks"
Brady Hoke and co. have brainwashed you into thinking that good play design and misdirection is somehow a football sin.
All good teams score points with offensive wrinkles and unexpected plays, that is part of what makes them a good team.

I guarantee he does not run a sub 10s 100m. That would make him the fastest player in college football. Not saying he isn't fast but let's be real.

I don't understand, why is QB development behind Rudock and looking to add an accomplished QB transfer mutually exclusive events?
Like, what if O'Korn really is the best QB on the roster right now and coming along nicely but we had the chance to have Tom Brady for one year, wouldn't you still take it?
I say bring on all the QBs and let the best man win!

I checked out theonlycolor's game preview, which I thought was fair enough overall. The one area where I think he is dead wrong is special teams. His analysis was (paraphrasing) "MSU has been bad but those mistakes are fixable. UM is only middle of the road. This will be an asset."
Aside from the obvious logical fallacy of assuming their terrible special teams will be fixed in one week, I think he is vastly underestimating UM's improvement in that area.

It doesn't bother me at all when Steele or anyone else predicts a Sparty win. Whatever, you are all entitled to your own opinions.
But only if they acknowledge that their prediction flies in the face of all reasonable expectation based on the way the two teams have played this year. I mean, there is no way you can spin what you have seen on the field year to date to be able to expect MSU wins, just no way.
It is like if I were to predict a Michigan win in either of the last two years. Um, ok I can choose to feel that way about my team, but I would have to acknowledge that I had no basis for feeling that way other than something that hadn't manifested itself on the field that year.

We are random internet message board posters that Jourdan almost certainly won't be reading or listening to. Urging him to stay is a way that we celebrate his talents.
If we were people with actual influence in Jourdan's life, then I would agree that this would be in poor form. As is it is completely harmless and plenty of fun.

Agree with you both; Gardner is my pick. What is most sad to me is that I bet Gardner gets drafted as a QB with four years under Harbaugh.

I've been trying to keep my OMG stories to my friends to a minimum because they are already sick of hearing me complain about Brandon, but this is one of my go to stories. It really encapsulates Brandon's arrogance, deceitfulness, and incompetence.
To him, the story of Bo accepting the job without knowing the salary was simply another Michigan tradition to be bought and marketed.

EDIT: started typing just before guy above posted a better account. Oops.
A university programming club wanted to put on an event in the Big House suites which is called M-hacks. They invite top computer programming professionals (think Google, Microsoft, etc. types) though I don't remember the details of the conference.
The athletic department told them the cost of using the Big House would be 30k plus a TBD amount (wasn't clearly explained what went into calculation of the value). The club agreed, raised the money through donors, and put on what sounded like a fantastic conference that was good for the university.
They get the bill and the TBD amount which they anticipated would be nominal fees was actually an additional 60K (for a total cost of over 90K for the whole event). College of Engineering ended up having to foot the bill since the club couldn't pay.
That story also stuck out to me. Anyone who maybe was thinking that Brandon was purely inept and not amoral, go reread that story. Guy clearly didn't have the interests of the university in mind.

Early in the Hoke years I thought he was just playing it close to the chest with his pressers. You know, generic coach speak about toughness to avoid giving any actual information about the game. Seemed silly but alright.
Then later in the Hoke years I had a growing suspicion that generic coach speak about toughness really was the extent of his coaching ability and his pressers were actually a horrifying reality of the way our head coach teaches football.
Harbaugh's presser is a relief. He knows what is going on, he has a plan for how to fix it, and the loss clearly drives him to work even harder. I am getting a warm fuzzy that everything will be ok with Harbaugh (already had it but, well, yeah).

Most of my life I was a pretty quintessential nerd, into many of the same things mentioned in this thread. I was pretty into sports as well, but typical of nerds I was absolutely rail thin and weak. 6ft and under 140 pounds for most of my adult life.
Due to a variety of reasons, I decided to get into weightlifting and in the space of a couple months I became a lifting geek. Unlike the typical gym brah, I like to compare popular workout programs, work on my form, don't do much bicep work, and despite all of that I still am not particularly strong. So yeah, I would say I qualify as a lifting geek.

Only someone irrationally blinded by sports fandom could hate Denard Robinson.
Some guys are assholes, and when he is your asshole you love 'em and when he is their asshole you hate 'em. Mike Hart falls into this category for me. I wouldn't expect any rival to have anything but dislike for him (especially Sparty of course).
Denard is not like that. He was extremely fun to watch and is just about the nicest, humblest guy you could possibly find. Stop me before I break into "I love you Denard"...

Hoke needs to figure out who he is. The never-ending toughness rhetoric is completely at odds with the actual person. He seems like a nice, caring person who likes to form relationships and encourage people. That is great! Be a teacher, be a recruiting coordinator or a position coach, I don't care. Head coach of Michigan is just not for you.
It was so incredibly painful seeing Hoke's complete lack of fire in the face of adversity. He doesn't deserve the scorn I felt towards him, and yet he did sign up for the job.
|30 weeks 5 days ago||No, not in terms of the||
No, not in terms of the worthiness of the relative activities. I understand that some people will enjoy one and not the other. That is perfectly fine by me, no argument there.
It is confusing to me that someone who thinks it is worth their time to watch other people play an athletic game on tv think it is dumb to watch a competitive esport on tv. Reading this thread it seems there are a lot of them.
|30 weeks 5 days ago||Indeed. It is also odd to me||
It is also odd to me that being a nerd is still seen as a bad thing by some people. Is not Game of Thrones, an epic fantasy, not essentially the most popular show on television right now? And isn't every other major blockbuster a superhero movie these days (not that I support that trend).
It seems so mainstream. Odd to me that video gaming still has that stigma attached while it is now relatively "normal" to enjoy nerd content that was once seen in the same light.
|30 weeks 5 days ago||Cracks me up that so many||
Cracks me up that so many sports fans think it is weird that some people like watching competitive video games. How is it any more useless of an activity than watching other people play real games? The validity of watching esports is exactly the same as watching real sports. It is just a matter of preference or what you enjoy.

Even more crazy is that some schools give people scholarships to run around on a field with a ball. Then pay an old guy millions of dollars to make the kids the best at it. Can't get my mind around this nonsense.

Before he got there, the farthest VCU had ever made it in the tournament was the round of 32, and they had gotten there 5 times EVER. He made it to the round of 32 or farther in 3 of his 6 seasons.
His system won't work at Texas? Pitino runs an awfully similar system at Louisville and he seems to be doing just fine.
|34 weeks 23 hours ago||People put too much weight on||
People put too much weight on NCAA performance when judging a coach. Yes he has had a couple bad exits in recent years, but his teams have consistently performed at a high level during the regular season. The tournament wins will come.
Texas isn't a basketball school but they are always able to get some great athletes who will be able to run his system effectively. I think this is a great hire personally.
