And that was only during the intermission.

Espn3 has it in Spanish but…

Espn3 has it in Spanish but it’s only translated in the closed captioning and the commercials.  Since not all of us get the package with ESPNU 🙄

I love what flo started with…

I love what flo started with wrestling but seriously screw flo. They’re full of themselves and don’t actually give a monthly subscription option anymore. It’s pay a year and you don’t get a refund if you cancel after a few months. I might still be a little bitter after wrestling season and the BTN tournament opening rounds only being broadcast there.

It was a point of emphasis…

It was a point of emphasis at the high school level, but they put in the caveat that if they were making a wrestling move it wasn't stalling.  My feed lagged out for most of the first period but when I saw the stall calls, that's ridiculous.  That being said, he was backing right out about half of the time because all Stoll did was run him straight out.  That was all a judgment call that probably shouldn't have been called nearly as much as it was.

That being said, getting  a returning placer in the first round that got seeded that low is just a bad draw for him after the kid from Purdue withdrew and they moved his seed up.  I get that he was 9-5 and had a couple bad losses coming off his shooting himself in the knee in the offseason, but the 28 seed as a returning placer is really just baffling.

Scholarships

There is a site somewhere that lists the amount of athletes per available scholarship for every school. If you look at Michigan, last I checked we only gave out full scholarships, which is great for those kids, but hurts our depth at times.  Other schools in the Big Ten had a lot more athletes on scholarship by comparison.  Really our team this year is hurt that Taylor Massa who looked like the most can't miss kid coming out of Michigan probably ever never really panned out after a freshman year that he just missed being an AA.  That same year Jordan Thomas (189 from Greenville) came in with him and never got very far.

Rutgers

According to Intermat Rutgers is even ranked, which says something about the lack of wrestling across the board, and about the depth of the Big Ten.

US Soccer on Instagram

They have the lineups up before anywhere else.  It was great during the WC and they seem to be keeping it up.

The rules changed a few years ago.

Berry was signed as a minor league free agent

The Tigers did not draft him.

I went to the CAP class this

I went to the CAP class this summer and the people running it were pretty adamant times about how those rules came from the Michigan coaches, and were only in place because of the majority of the Michigan coaches supporting them.

Palka spoke at the coaching

Palka spoke at the coaching clinic in the spring and spoke about having to try and extablish a rapor with the younger kids because the two catholic schools that they compete with were taking so many quality kids when they reached high school.  I wonder how many of those transfers were just kids from those two catholic schools they play not being happy about losing kids to a rival.

How can you say that?

I lived three hours away from Michigan, and going home was not an easy thing.  Especially when you're a frosh/soph living in the dorms.  I got to go home for holidays, and a couple special occasions my freshman year because I was homesick.  By the time I was a junior, going home was just something that wasn't possible most of the time because the six hour round trip was just too much.

You can play up to like 15%

You can play up to like 15% of the games and still be redshirted.  I'm not exactly sure, but it's like a game and a half into the season.

plead guilty, but was acquitted and won the court case in civil court.

56,000 teachers were eligible

56,000 teachers were eligible for the buyout, ed per detnews 17,100 took it.  There are jobs, and with experience you'd have a huge leg up on getting one.  The problem is, they want multiple certificates for about every job now.  I graduated in 2006 and am still looking, mostly because I want to stay instate vs leaving.  If you're elementary, special ed, math or science you should be able to find a job right now, besides that it's a crapshoot.  All you have to do is find one district that likes you though.

There was one incident with a kid and a machete last year in Tawas.  Might want to avoid that place.

It is nice to see

It is nice to see Jake Fox doing well too.  Michigan Alum, even if he's playing against the Tigs today.

Transfer rules

I suck at quoting...

SCHOOL OF CHOICE:
The action of the Michigan Legislature to include "school of choice" within intermediate
school districts does not effect the athletic eligibility of transferring students. Students who
transfer by choice from one school to another and do not otherwise satisfy the
transfer regulation are ineligible for interscholastic athletics for one full semester.

per http://www.charlottenet.org/athletics/code_of_conduct.pdf

That basically confirms what I though, which is if you transfer, you sit out, unless you actually physically moved to the district from another. If his legal guardian is in another district, there is a one time waiver based on moving in with a different parent/guardian. I'm not sure if his coach getting custody would really matter, since if his previous guardian still lives in the district he should be fine. We had a kid transfer middle of football season after he got kicked off the team to our rival school and was still eligible for basketball. (side note he got himself expelled already) He retained eligibility from that one time waiver because he moved in with his dad from his mom's. Not sure if that was even slightly relevant though.

04 I was close

I made it to everything except the away game at Illinois.  Stupid teacher certification tests that were required to student teach in the fall getting in the way.  I got tickets through the ticket office for ND and OSU in the spring.  We ebay'd Purdue and just bought tickets from IU's ticket office.  Rose Bowl tickets just came from the ticket office too which was pretty nice, even though they were people selling them for $10 before the game.  Overall it was one of those things I wish I could afford to do again.

what moon are you living on?

gittleson didn't believe in free weights

his reasoning was....wait for it...bo told him to not get kids hurt lifting

yes, there are individuals who broke the norm, but our alumni weren't coming back to work out here at all...now they're flocking back, that says something about barwis

Dining Services

Always need help, you pick your shifts, and the starting pay's over 8.50

plus you can usually end up mooching enough food to cut into your food bill and meet some interesting people

This is really

annoying, I was really looking forward to seeing it on there live. Going to the coaching clinic the weekend before and then going down again that weekend would be way too much on my wallet.

It was

actually posted on mlive from the Bay City Times a couple hours before freep got a hold of the story

At some point or another

one of the "I agree to...." that scholarship athletes had to sign included a part against having a facebook/myspace page

For a while they went under fake names, seems like that might have been changed

You do realize

that comcast has a charge everytime you change your service right? Regardless if they prorate it, you still have to pay the service fee.
