This def gives him a small FX advantage on his vertical.  This coming from a finance guy with a plant in CAN.

I'm sure he said something really classy to her

Those guys were watching and pointing at the girls but didnot have the balls to talk to them.  So they had their boy who they think can't hear no because his status on the team go up for them.  Sure he said something really appropriate to her for her to act that way.  So I wouldn't say she started it.  They weren't messing with the group of guys, the guys were hounding them.

And then........

And then.....another 5 star?!?

Angels Envy On the rocks.
Angels Envy Best stuff out there.
What kind of Whiskey?

Many different choices.  Only one kind of OSU fan.

Dackich coached Donnal in AAU

This is now 2 guys from the AAU team that he coached.  I'm sure the fact that he has played and is buddies with Donnal has somthing to do with him committing.  Either way Dackich now has 2 guys at UM.

What about the blocking call on Stauskas?

He appeared to draw a charge from Thomas a few plays earlier?

I don't always agree with the calls, but as long as they appear to be called consistently I am ok with it.  What bugs me is when the plays look similar and one is a charge and one is a block.

I was thinking this during the game

During the early stages of the game it appeared that Stauskas drew a charge from Thomas (Kellogg also said it looked like a charge during the broadcast).  It was called a bloking foul crowd went nuts and OSU got a 3 point play.

Not long after this it appeared that Thomas was sliding under one of our players and a fould was called.  This was more clear cut than the first call mentioned above so I was sure it would be a blocking foul.  It was instead called a charge (once again Kellogg said during the broadcast that he thought this was a bad call). Another 3 point swing.

This scenario could have easily (and according to the announcers) ended with us up 6 more points and Thomas out of the game.

These 50/50 calls (charges and blocking fouls) seem to be harder to call and the refs like to dramatically call them.

I wonder if you look at just the 50/50 calls and not all fouls if they even more favor the home team?

How do I read the KenPom rankings?

How do you read the Ken Pom Rankings?  With Sarigin Ratings you take the rating for the two teams and adjust for where the game is played.  I looked at the Ken Pom ratings and am not seeing how this works.  Thanks.

Who do our QBs work with in the offseason?

I was looking through some pictures of George Whitfield (the QB coaching guru) and saw pics of lots of current college QB's (Braxton Miller, Logan Thomas).  So some of these guys are traveling out to San Diego to train with him.  Any idea what our guys are doing in the offseason?  Curious how much imporvement DG will make between now and next season.

He has been all ND since day 1

His little brother might be the best of them all.  Wonder what side of the family rivalry he will end up choosing one day.

Kelly to NFL

Urban to ND.

Tebow will save the city Next on SC.
He will play BBall His bball team has a good shot at winning state and he might play both for IU.
Now I was expecting to hear about Autumn

I thought this was about a player named Autumn.

According to Rivals

There top ten linemen: 2 Five Stars, 2 4 Stars, 6 3 Stars

We rode the big roller coaster first

I agree with you.  Have you ever been to an amusement and rode the biggest fastest roller coaster first?  The rest of the rides seem small and slow.  Versus if you ride them in order from smallest to biggest they all seem big and fast.  Hopefully this perspective from this game will help us in all the others.  Normal amounts of space to throw and run though will now seem big, players will be easier to block and tackle.

Keg of Oberon

Hope we can pass out happy.

Are there tickets available? Think I am going to make the trip from IN to go with my cousin from AA.
Yes

Then Farrell announced it was his exclusive and he would announce it an hour earlier than everyone else was allowed.  So after announcing his exclusive at 8:00 am Sam released it at 7:50.  Sam did the same thing to him that he did to everyone else.

He shoudn't of announced the time.  All that did was give the other guys a time to beat.

Farrell said he would have the exclusive this morning

Last night Farrell said "I will have Henry Poggi's announcement exclusively Monday (tomorrow) morning at 8am EST thanks to coach Poggi."

Then he later responded to someone saying that "9am release for everyone else I am told."

Did he have any exclusive info?  No.  He just thought he got the ok to release the info first and then call it his.  Apparently Webb also got it and that left Farrell getting scooped on a story that he would exclusively break.

What he gets for trying to come in late and call a story his when many people knew about it and were holding it.

Because IU fans are ND fans in the fall

And IU fans in the winter.

Caught urinating and crouching

Hmmmm

I don't think anyone does.

Ohio Law?  Is it even real?

They are turning it up on Smith now

As I mentioned above they were at his HS working him and some of his teammates out this week.  Fickell and Vrabel were there.  Don't know if that is normal to send 2 coaches or not.  Smith is an ND lean and I think they know it.  A couple of his teammates have show well at 7-7s and camps.  So I wouldn't be suprised to see Ohio offer one or two of them to try to intice him to commit.  HIs brother is already there.  It will be interesting to see if they offer Tyvel Jemison DB, Mike Rodgers WR, Kendrick Mullen DB (brother plays at IU), Andrew Spencer DB (Brother is A Spencer LB for the Cowboys).

Fickell and Vrabel

Fickell and Vrabel were in Fort Wayne this weekend working out Jalen Smith and a couple other Luers players.  Smith is a ND lean so I expect that Ohio will really turn up the heat and try to get him since his brother plays there.  Interesting to see if they can flip him.  While it is a catholic school the coaching staff is very pro Ohio.

Reese intercepted by South Bend Police

Making poor reads on and off the field.

Floyd missed nothing for DUI (second offense)

So it should be safe to assume that Reese will get something similar.  If he does get punished it means he wansn't usefull to Kelly and he is trying to prove a point.  I am guessing he will do the what is good for him and not the right thing.  Funny how this works at a religious institution which should be held at a higher standard.

They will try anything

They will try anything to keep Hoke from stealing all their recruits.

Can't he major in that by punishing Spartan RB's

If he dominates Spartan RB's for 4 years he should qualify for a Criminal Justice major.

His mustache says #1

They must not be taking it into the rankings consideration.

How have I never seen this before

That was amazing.

Irvin is underrated

Irvin will rise a lot this year now that he is not in Harris' shadow.  He is underrated.  He is probably the best player in IN next year.   Bryson Scott (Purdue bound) put up bigger numbers but he didn't have to defer to anyone like Walton did this year.  Hopefully he will make it 2 years in a row that IN Mr. Basketball heads to the state of Michigan.

Method is consistent

If you guys all want it changed who is volunteering to go back and retrospectively change all the spreadsheets?

Accuracy a flaw?

I am not saying Morris is over or under ranked.  I am just commenting on the fact that ESPN has his major flaw as accuracy.

1. I have not heard of this being a concern until their Elite 11 camp in Dallas.  Just questioning whether this is truly a concern or are they trying to find stats to support their camp evaluation.  Which could have been jitters or just a bad day.  Or he truly has accuracy issues.

2.  The fact that they point to Morris's HS completion percentage (52%) as support to his lack of accuracy, is weird when the #1 QB on the list completed only 50% of his passes last year and is an "accurate" QB.

Has anyone seen Morris play?

ESPN knocks him for his accuracy (referring to the Dallas camp and his HS completion %).  They said it needs to be up around 64% this year.  His JR year is comp % was 52%.  While this may be true stats can vary wildly at the HS level for so many different reasons.  If you look at the game by game stats he had some terrible game comp % wise:

Brother Rice 6 of 16 38%

Inkster 7 of 21 33%

St Mary Prep 5 of 14 36%

Cass Tech 4 of 17 24%

The stats dont necessarily tell the whole story.  Can someone who has seen him play shed some light.  Does he not get enough time and has to throw the ball away?  Are his WR not athletic enough to get seperation and get open?  Are they trying to throw a homerun ball everytime (which isn't a high completion pass)?

My point is that you can make stats say whatever you want.  Is the problem his accuracy, or is ESPN conveniently using this to point out an isolated incident at the Dallas camp?

Top three avg

Yes Alabama got 13, and Texas got 12 but they also had recruiting class sizes of 26 and 28.  Makes 11 out of 17 very impressive.  That is a 65% rate.  Tops last year was 53% by FSU.  In 2011 it was Bama with 44%.  Florida has the highest with 61% in 2010.  USC and Florida also had a 50% rate in 2009 but with small classes.

The top three teams (2009-2012) averaged 44% of their class being on the 150 list (or about 11 players).

Motta benefitted from IU struggles

Motta got many of his great players from IN after Mike Davis pissed off all the IN highschool coaches in the mid 2000's.  He started right around the time Davis angered the coaches and IU struggles started.  He got Conley, Oden, Offett, and Thomas in a 4 year period.  IU getting better is going to hurt Motta's recruiting.

LTT and Gedeon had traits added

This would indicate 6 players.  So if we make some assumptions that number may be close.

If you assume that we will have a top 5 class and take the trends from the last 4 ESPN 150's, 6 might be the starting number (which I know will make everyone angry).

The average top 5 class over the last 4 years averages 40% of their players in the 150.  The average top 3 class over the last 4 years averages 45%.  So that comes out to 7 or 8 guys out of 17 if you take the percentages.

So I would guess 10-11 when recruiting is final.

Can't stop listening

Forgot how great that music was.

MSU list of arrests

Just curious does anyone have a list of the MSU players arrested and their suspensions?

John Stockton

He reminds me of John Stockton.

Interesting to see how he spreads out the scholarships

He currently has 14 guys and only 13 scholarships available.  Who is going to take the bullet and give up their scholarship?

Being a UM fan in Indiana

It is pretty unbearable during basketball season.  The fairweather IU fans and their ignorance is tough to deal with.

Its normal

News caused me just to walk out for the day.

I agree with this.

So this is applicable to an OL with a Michigan offer since we are full at this position.  Ohio has only 5 total players and no QB recruit.  They are also recruiting the QB position still.  So they keep throwing out this term when it doesn't make sense.

While at the same time using stats showing how they beat us out head to head last year for recruits.  Problem was many of those guys had their spots filled and that ship had sailed.

Just funny how they spin it to look good no matter what the situation.

This is a very common problem

This is a very common problem for QBs and pitchers in big games and camps like this.  They go out and try to show off a little extra on the arm.  Nothing to worry about.  He has the arm, technique, and work ethic.  The next camp he will be fine.
