I, for one, agree.  Getting a strong power forward this year is an absolute MUST to ensure that Michigan gets to the Frozen Four for the 24th time in a row.

EDIT: Double post... you have my condolences for the lost seconds of your lives scrolling past.

Couldn't happen to a nicer

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy...

And I agree... I have to get one of those human-sized bags of movie theatre popcorn every time the NFL puts up this fascade of "player safety" and "protecting the shield".

When are they going to have

When are they going to have ragdoll physics included (like in Grand Theft Auto), where every hit could be unique.  Say you dive and knock out a guy's left leg, he'd fall properly... not in one of the scripted styles they do in the previous NCAAs?  That would be awesome.

Beating Delaware 72-3 was so

Beating Delaware 72-3 was so much more gratifying than beating the FCS Northwest Dragons is today...

Poor word choice, rarely is anyone ever "busy" while on The Pot.

I like to use all one color

I like to use all one color when I play NCAA '12... maybe we should use an all-maize uniform, or all blue?  I hope you're listening DB... imagine it.

The Above the Law guy is an

The Above the Law guy is an absolute idiot... no wonder he wasn't a success as a lawyer.  I like this quote: "I’d bet all the money in my pocket that Sweat has not been paying attention to the media coverage of the long-term professional and financial damage that can be done by going to law school."  Yes, the long-term professional and financial damage that CAN result from what, furthering his education?  You could say the same thing about going to undergrad, or Med school, or grad school... yeah you COULD screw up and not make anything of your life and be forced to tell others how shitty their decisions are for the rest of your life while not really adding anything to society *looks at Above the Law*.

I hope this guy never procreates, imagine...

"Dad, I got into (Med/Law/Grad) School!"

"Well son, I hope you understand how this could damage your future career prospects and ruin your life."

"Aw thanks Dad, I'm glad you've been able to do one thing well in life.  You sure can pass on your butt-hurt to future generations with the best of 'em!"

Ran into the same problem

Ran into the same problem last time I did my taxes in a strip club, they made me take off my favorite green accountant's visor.

I'm not an engineer, but just

I'm not an engineer, so just out of curiosity... what would the pricetag be for a bottom-basement indoor "stadium".  Hell, I'm not even thinking a "stadium" but just a roof and four walls that will maintain an indoor temp. of 60 and above.  I think it would be a cool gimmick which could potentially lead to M being a northern power.  I mean, if I'm a baseball player, a sport which has the lowest chances of "making it" in the big leagues, I might as well go to a great academic school... which would set Michigan apart from many of the traditional baseball powers.  I'm not even a college baseball fan, but I just stumbled upon the thread and though I'd give it a go.

Exactly, U of Pittsburgh

Exactly, U of Pittsburgh probably has about 600,000 fans in the Pittsburgh area (metro population is probably around 1.5 mil), but I never heard anyone screaming that the BIG10 should make sure to dominate the Pittsburgh market by adding the Panthers (granted PSU dominates).  You'd be adding about the same number of fans to the Big 10, adding a more respected/historic program, and essentially securing PA recruits to the Big 10 (W. Pa / Pittsburgh seem to be the hotbeds in the state).

Also, I don't think the argument comparing races to this is completely accurate, as there are real differences between the genders biologically speaking, not so much between "races" (whatever they may or may not be).

That article is as much about

That article is as much about religion as it is about sports... treading dangerous waters here....

I'll wait for the fireworks.

Yes, but perhaps helpful

Yes, but perhaps helpful MGoBloggers can tailor their answers to his specific situation (i.e. family friendly, perhaps rather demure, beer-serving).  It is the off season, my hockey team is out of the playoffs, baseball games aren't exactly must-wins yet, the EPL is now over, NFL draft is done.... it's a sports dead time.

I'm not a New Yorker / from

I think the statement "Rutgers has 3 times as much fans in NY" might be a littttle misleading... does Rutgers really have any real fans?  I can't say I've ever seen/met a Rutgers fan not in NJ and it has been established in the past that NYC just isn't a college sports town (outside of alum fans from big time schools).

Plus, everything I've ever heard about Rutgers has been... bad.  No offense to any fans out there, but what would Rutgers add besides teams to get stomped and a huge financial failure in the athletic department?  I'd take Maryland/UVa/ND/GT any day over Rutgers.

Too bad they weren't quarterbacks.  Cam Newton was able to just throw his laptop problems far enough away.

Damn, I wish she would've left the "micromanaging" of the team to someone else during the RR hire...

Welp, I guess MGoPoints are

Welp, I guess MGoPoints are the similar to being overweight, once you get to a certain point, you might as well give up.

PS- I did find it funny you aggressively defended an accused murdered so... vehemently. I'd hate to see how you defend your mother.  I bet C-words would be droppin'.

Who is for pink and who is

Who is for pink and who is for animal print?  I'd say I'm a fan of the pink...

I feel a Lil' Woosie after

I feel a Lil' Woosie after listening to Lil' Boosie on Youtube.  So pretty much this guy is famous for his supposed criminal record... now that he has been proven innocent, is his career in trouble.  Or can he play the double jeopardy card and be all "Yup, I did it, yo."  Although that would definitely make a civil suit a lot easier...

PS: If anyone is looking for a little comedy, search for him on Wikipedia.  Among other gems:

"He worked with rapper C-Loc and his group Concentration Camp" (Nice name choice).

"joined growing record label Trill Entertainment which was backed by its CEO the late Pimp C of UGK."  Microsoft would solve the "uncool" problem by hiring Pimp C (if of course, Pimps A and B are unavailable) as their next CEO.

Ohhhhhhh boy, this argument

Ohhhhhhh boy, this argument makes sense.  What if the guy is actually 5'2, 125 lbs and isn't particularly skilled at X girls' sport?  He can't play because men tend to be better athletes than women?  But a girl who is 6'2, 195 and is the spawn of Mia Hamm and Derek Jeter CAN play because women tend to be slightly less skilled athletes?

It does present some

It does present some quandries, I remember playing soccer at a relatively competetive level and playing against rural teams with a girl or two from rural areas who, presumably, couldn't field a girls team.  I definitely did not slide tackle / check the girls as hard as the guys, even if the girls were just as aggressive, it's just something you are taught all your life not to do.  Granted, baseball requires almost no physical contact, so that wouldn't have been an issue.  I do feel for guys when they play girls, for instance I remember a guy in my high school who had to wrestle a girl... there was no "good" outcome for him.  If he won, he was "beating up on a girl" (yes, I know she was agreeing to the contact, but don't try to explain that to 17 year old guys) or if he lost, he lost to a girl.

Here's the article, this should make for some good discussion: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/highschool-prep-rally/keeling-pilaro-male-field-hockey-player-banned-being-160713816.html

EDIT: Whoops, didn't see that you posted the link a few comments below... don't neg me for being redundant, he should've edited his post!

You should talk to that one

You should talk to that one guy, buyaporsche, or whatever his name is.  He used to post a lot but I haven't seen him in a while, was quite proud of his collection.

Is it bad that I expect more

Is it bad that I expect more from MGoBlog than I do from ESPN, or for that matter, any for-profit news source?  I find that more and more, the media (please don't embolden them by calling them "journalists") would rather create the news than simply report it.

If we keep following that

If we keep following that chain, maybe we can again figure out that Slippery Rock is the #1 team in the nation...

Have you ever been to a Taco

Have you ever been to a Taco Bell / KFC combo storefronts?  Oh, my... the possible combinations are endlessly delicious.  Imagine a cheese quesadilla, KFC Double Down, mashed potatoes with gravy, a few of those dollar soft tacos, and a personal bucket of fried chicken... I bet your mouth is watering now.

These are as funny as the

These are as funny as the photoshop threads... and they're normal pictures.  I bet Clausen's parents are glad he's an marginally-successful QB, at least now they have a SHOT at grandkids.

And we wonder why tuitions

And we wonder why tuitions increase at a ridiculous rate every year... it's called "bureaucracy".  Having worked on the periphery of a university system, I am still amazed what sometimes constitutes a job/career in the sector, it sometimes seems as if there is absolutely no oversight whatsoever.  At least there is no motivation to reduce spending.

Being a University President

Being a University President is obviously a part-time job... ask Mary Sue.

Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house... at least about some things.  Or just throw them carefully.

You don't think playing "Too

You don't think playing "Too Legit 2 Quit" during the 4th quarter of a game against a sacrificial lamb would be awesome ?

Why don't you take a seat...

Why don't you take a seat... right over there.

Just take a seat.

Take a seat, now. Sir.

We are not preoccupied with

We are not preoccupied with Sparty.  I repeat, not preoccupied.

I heard Dantonio was seen at a doctor's office today, can anyone confirm?  How will this impact the game next season?  Is anyone on the board a cardiologist?

Put this criminal in prison

Put this criminal in prison for at least a few years until he learns not harm society by... uhh... yeah. Good job cops, glad to see our tax dollars are being well spent by locking up kids trying to do well on a test and relaxing afterwards. Obviously being sarcastic, but it's funny that he could have legally popped 5 NoDozes and then downed a fifth of Kamchatka instead (both of which would probably do more harm to his body), but now he could face serious problems in the future.

Wow.  I would be PISSED if I

Wow.  I would be PISSED if I was a student at Rutgers paying my own way, working jobs after classes, skimping on everyday needs, just to pay $1,000 to provide full scholarships to field hockey players and wrestlers.

I thought I hated Indiana's

I thought I hated Indiana's then I saw this, what is DB thinking?  We're the Wolverines based on an animal, not some crappy comic for 12 year olds!  I'm writing him an e-mail right now, this bullshit has to stop now!  First the Arby's logo, then the ***KING HASTAGS on the field, then rock music, then the band, now he's messing with the uniforms!

As of a few months ago, you

As of a few months ago, you could still buy "The NFL's Hardest Hits" online.  The League continues to have its cake and eat it too.  It thrives on the testosterone fueled battles while #ThugLifeHugs Goodell continues to try to act like they are concerned about player safety.  Hines Ward made some good comments a few months ago,

"The league doesn't care about us anyway. [...] They don't care about the safety of the game. If the league was so concerned about the safety, why are you adding two more games on? You talk about you don't want players to drink ... and all you see is beer commercials. You don't want us to gamble, but then there are [NFL-endorsed lottery scratch-off games...]"

Yes, because I'm sure you,

Yes, because I'm sure you, Mother Teresa, have never said someone is something they are not out of frustration.  IT WAS 2008 UM FOOTBALL FERGODSAKES!

That kid was just as much of a "total dumbass" as Odoms is the "worst person on the planet"... it's called hyperbole, lighten up.

I appraciate this type of

I appraciate this type of comedy of MGo because it would pass oveer the heads of any other board.  Even though I'm inebriated I  love MGo.

What exactly is the BCS?  I

What exactly is the BCS?  I mean, it is a damn strange... entity, whatever it is.  I feel like THEY tell the NCAA what's up, not the other way around.  Kind of the like the little kid telling the parents what exactly he wants for dinner and how he wants it cooked.  Little bugger wouldn't be around without them either.

Oh, and now I know what it must feel like to live in a kleptocracy.

Also, what is best for the

Also, what is best for the STUDENTS who at many schools, contribute an "activities fee" or portion of their tuition towards running the athletic department.  It might be nice to at least give them a chance to be able to see a "Bowl" game for $50-150, rather than forcing them to shell out half a grand for plane tickets, hotels, lodging, etc.

Great point, I can't believe

Great point, I can't believe someone didn't bring it up earlier!

"Try selling a $150 ticket to a 35+ year old fan and his kids who are going to have to shiver out a winter game in Michigan. God help you if it rains or snows."

That is exactly why the Steelers, Giants, Bears, Packers, Patriots, Seahawks, Browns, Bengals, and Jets consistently have empty stadiums come December.

*rolls eyes, again and again and again*

EDIT: Beaten to the punch...

Megabus with the fam, brah.

Megabus with the fam, brah.  It'd be like $30 a ticket round trip if you book it now and you get (usually broken) WiFi!  Hell, maybe you, the wifey, and kids can shack up at your old fraternity/co-op/friend-who-never-graduated's apartment and use a Zip car.

Goll-y am I good at economizing, I think Greece wants my services now, I'll be right back.

... ahhh actually it's the entire Eurozone, be back in 12 years once I have everyone in tip top shape.

Just wondering, does Michigan

Just wondering, does Michigan offer anything that is equivalent to a Criminal Justice major?  I'd imagine being Pre-Law would serve one well, especially if he hoped to move up the police ladder someday and a Michigan degree certainly wouldn't hurt either.  I wouldn't think that when hiring, having a Criminal Justice major would be all that important if one could prove he was a capable and intelligent officer, since I'd imagine police academies/trainings would basically cover the same things.  .

Just looking for some insight.

I like this quote:
"Everyone

I like this quote:

"Everyone hates lawyers until they need one."

Go eat some glass you POS.

Go eat some glass you POS.

Making fun of people for their individual choices = funny.

Making fun of people for getting diseases that will ultimately kill them = classless and embarassing to have you even associated with UM.  I really hope you didn't graduate from UM.

Classy. It's not like

Classy.

It's not like Californian schools are doing well either.  Perhaps you left-coasters should've looked into hiring this type of worker called an "accountant" who helps to manage this thing called a "budget", I hear it's a pretty useful tool to avoid this other thing called "a $20 billion dollar deficit ".

See... mocking large groups of people makes you seem just as dumb as you insinuate they are.

Especially since $2 million

Especially since $2 million is not that much money in terms of a University's total budget, I'm SURE there are better things to cut. Just judging by Michigan's spending... there are certainly ways to cut things out of the budget without ANYONE noticing. Think anyone would notice if that (sorry I don't like "modern" art or whatever it is) giant orange pickup-sticks statue outside Angell disappeared? What about letting a few jobs of recently retired employees go unfilled for a while to see where some bureaucracy can be shed? Or take money FROM the athletic department and apply it to the academic side of the school?
