Would you say some of Patterson not taking shots is simply being highly turnover averse? I know you aren’t counseling recklessness, but it’s impressive that Northwestern never got as much as a finger on the ball.
Illinois grad living in Michigan, father is a Wolverines alum. It's Beckman, and not particularly close, although if Becks gets fired this year hiring Hoke would be a very Illini thing to do.
Sorry if already posted: in 1978 Chuck Fairbanks announced he was leaving an 11-4 New England Patriots team for Colorado. He was sued (and suspended) for breach of contract. Colorado boosters ended up paying the buyout.
Fairbanks went just 7-26 after all the drama.

Good comments and suggestions. My only comment is I think we should keep David Harris as a 5-star. Harris has torn it up in the NFL and only an injury last year kept him from leading the Jets in tackles.

Harbaugh will always choose to win with cruelty if he has a choice.
Phenomenal Wolverines Football
Number 1 recruits don’t always pan out
2016: Rashan Gary - injuries limited effectiveness
2015: Byron Cowart - transferred from Auburn
2014: Leonard Fournette - consensus All American
2013: Robert Nkemdiche - Lombardi finalist, but has had issues with drugs
2012: Dorial Green-Beckham - freshman All American, but dismissed from Missouri
2011: Jadeveon Clowney - All American sophomore season
2010: Ronald Powell - torn ACL derailed career
2009: Bryce Brown - never made a serious positive impact
2008: Terrell Pryor - outstanding player but brought memorabilia scandal to OSU
2007: Jimmy Clausen - no awards, basically an above-average starter
Good point. Hope we see a leap over the next few games. Doesn’t sound like he’s a good candidate for early NFL entry.
