JJ.  He’s only 20. Those other guys going before him in the 2024 draft I  believe are all 23 or 24. My point is he’s not shaving any time off his NFL career and he gets one more year of maturation under Harbaugh and he’s still probably the youngest QB taking in the first round of the 2025 draft.

Yes.  4 undefeated power 5…

Yes.  4 undefeated power 5 champs that includes an SEC team, committee jumps at the chance for the easiest solution IMO.

“Michigan probably would…

“Michigan probably would have won in 2020 as well but we'll never know.”

This is how to extract every ounce of unhinged buck-nut reaction one could ever hope for.

I can’t wait for the…

I can’t wait for the illustrated version of this to come out. Please tell me there’s a team of people working on the illustrations around the clock.

I’ll be there can’t wait for…

I’ll be there can’t wait for Jim and the guys to leave no doubt. While they’re at it hopefully silencing my entire family who thinks we are only good because of signgate. This is an opportunity within an opportunity. GO BLUE!

What more could Stalions…

What more could Stalions have had that Purdue, Rutgers and ohio had? If you look at those sheets SI received it’s signals with corresponding plays. I understand they could have potentially been stolen legitimately (that sounds funny) but what’s the f****** difference? I believe you can fight the letter of the law with the rules book pertaining to the two teams playing, the bylaws being modified in 2013 to allow 3rd party recordings and the explanation from the rules committee as to why they did that all have merit. But if we are talking the spirit of the rule, what’s the difference if CS got signs from 3rd party recorders or Purdue got it from 3rd party coaches? This is a good old fashion(am I allowed to call it a lynching)witch hunt.

Thanks for the advice! …

Thanks for the advice! (Removes tongue from cheek) That’s juicy though.  I’d think Franklin being on the sideline would be a bigger detriment than Harbaugh not being on the sideline. M 33 psu 13

My brothers, Penn St. fans,…

My brothers, Penn St. fans, keep alluding to Iowa as one of the good teams they’ve played this year in their efforts to explain to me why psu is in a better position than Michigan coming into this game. That and because they lost to ohio, which apparently in Nittany nation is also bragging rights somehow. I’ll be in Beaver(stadium) this Saturday watching their grind of a schedule payoff.

I just don’t think it is him…

I just don’t think it is him. Unfortunately I’m not able to say that with conviction. If I could figure out how to post pics on this thread I’d make exhibit A a profile screen grab of the alleged CS as McElwain is walking directly by him. Is that a wig with sideburns and a well cropped haircut? CS is bald. Also that has to be a spray on sunburn on alleged CS because exhibit B would be next day E Carolina C.S. looking much less sun touched and having what looks like a few days of growth from chin to sideburns.  Maybe I’m wrong, this is the first part of any of this that feels ‘punishable.’

https://www.google.com/amp/s… https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thescore.com/nfl/news/1726346/amp You can neg me all you want it won’t change the fact that 10% of all NFL injuries occur on punts. I’d imagine there is similar results in college. Risk vs reward.
Believe me I get the…

Believe me I get the historical value of Michigan punt returners. I’d even include Charles Woodson considering he was the best player on our best team since I’ve been alive. Ronnie Bell on this team in particular is irreplaceable.  Someone may step up and will have to but the experience isn’t there.  Woodson and Howard were juggernauts on teams that were almost guaranteed to be in a title race with loaded proven talent all around them, plus who could tell them no. In Bells case IMO he’s actually much more irreplaceable than two legends of Michigan football.  We may have to scrap every single week in the Big10 and we’ll be doing it without one of the scrappiest guys since Jordan Kovacks.  I gave the field position point of view a lot of credence but on a roster that deep there’s got to be somebody else that can field a punt.

This hurts. I love that kid…

This hurts. I love that kid. That being said can we please stop putting our number one wide receiver back to return punts.  Godspeed Ronnie Bell on your recovery process, Go Blue.

Noooo! Ronnie Bell out for…

Noooo! Ronnie Bell out for season.  FFFF!  Why does this staff insist on having their best players in one of the traditionally more ‘dangerous’ roles in all of sports.  I used to cringe when DPJ was back to return punts I didn’t even have time to cringe this year.  Next man up isn’t a reasonable response here. Go Blue and best of luck to Ronnie on his recovery process.

I don't think Harbaugh is evil.

I don't really care how it looks, I do however care how it feels personally.  I've come to the conclusion that this is clearly a bi-product of Harbaugh and his staff being behind in recruiting and throwing out a ton of offers.  Offering at the satelite camps to kids who maybe were not M-ready because he had a class to fill.  Then having a season that drew a ton of recruits' attention in this direction, causing the staff to have buyers remorse.  I don't like the no contact, it's a weak move. Then I flip the coin.  Does the kid want to go to M? Who wouldn't? That same kid that we 'feel' for has had more exposure than he would have had he not signed with Harbaugh and Michigan.  Weaver and the others will all land on their feet on a football field somewhere.  In some of these cases it won't be a DII school like it might have been.  So do I like the way it feels to turn a kid away after he's already in the class? No, I think it sucks, but I don't see this as a problem we will see down the road.  Harbaugh will win games, the recruits will knock on his door and he won't find himself in the position of doing three years worth of recruiting in 1 year.

I suggest you make the time

I suggest you make the time to watch Victor's highlights.

I see the daily competition

I see the daily competition coming through in both of these games. These kids run through every play to the whistle.  Great game, without that first drive I think OSU had 60 yards total after that. Go Blue!

My brother got married and

My brother got married and gave all of his groomsmen an autographed item from a former Heisman Trophy winner. Yes, mine was Eddie George.  I'm a Titans fan as well and I learned to love hate Eddie.   I don't have to love him for anything he did in the scarlet and grey but he was a beast.

Refreshing.

a Meier's I can get down with

Sid Meier's Gettysburg/Antietam is a game I play to this day. It had a free trial of AC on it, it was blah.  Interviews don't win games but there is a reasonable amount of evidence showing that guys that give crappy interviews do win games.  If that's the case I hope we see more Harblah type interviews. Maybe some face to face stuff next  time that makes even Penn St fans feel uncomfortable and that is not easy to do.

Cowherd has proven he can be

Cowherd has proven he can be two faced.  The guy talks for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week.  He has said plenty of inflammatory crap about Harbaugh and Michigan.  He' has said good things too. That's the trap of being a talk show guy because now you have to interview the guy who remembers what you said.  I don't think Harbaugh can fake shit like CC can.  Hey Jim were best buddies lets have a great conversation now that you can respond to my comments. Instead of being a man and bringing up the opinions he so willingly, gleefully expressed when Jim couldn't respond. I guess my point is Coach doesn't fake it and that's fine by me.

Why just talk about statistics...

when you can use them.  The last 3 seasons final top 10 lists do not validate the high star theory in the least.  From2013 to 2015 better than 60% of top 10 teams don't fit the theory.

name & final rank/3 previous years class recruiting rank avg.

2013 Staee #3 / #32, S Carolina #4 / #20, Mizzou #5 / #40, OREGON #9 / #13, UCF #10/ #67.

2014  TCU #6 / #31,  Miss St. #7 / #27,  Staee #8 / #34,  Ole Miss #9 / #28, Arizona #10/ #44, Baylor #5 / #33.

2015  #2 OREGON / #21,  TCU #3 / #36,  Staee #5 / #34,  Ga. Tech #8 / #61, Baylor #7 / #26 UCLA #10 / #15.

3 items of note   1) I actually left some teams out that had a top 10 final rank but were not a top 10 recruiter.  2)  Repeat teams TCU, Staee and Oregon class averages went up(in a bad way) from 2013 to 2015. Baylor is the only team that won more and resulted in better class ranking increase from year to year, and that increase was nominal and then followed by a nominal decrease.  3) 5 year averages would not change the outcome other than to prove further that recruiting rankings don't auto qualify you for a top 10 finish.

Also winning games helps you

Also winning games helps you be more conservative with the offers.

The offers going out rapid

The offers going out rapid fire, I believe, are a result of still being behind other staffs when it comes to relationship building.  Some of these kids have been contacted by other staffs possibly as long as three years ago. The more contact M makes with as many kids as possible will help Harbaugh find the ones that are serious.  In time I think the number will trend down when the coaches feel they are not playing from behind.

Green alternatives? Oh you

Green alternatives? Oh you must mean T. Issac and D. Smith...those are the only real Green alternatives the rest go bankrupt in 6 months.

Flight of the Choncords

Flight of the Conchords reference, the distant future?  If it isn't it should be. The humans are dead...except for Harbaugh.

Harbaugh was 1 win away from

Harbaugh was 1 win away from a National Championship with a roster that had only  seven 4stars total.  Three of whom were true freshmen.  It's not the stars its the development that makes Harbaugh's teams winners.

Come on man, it's Peppers.

Come on man, it's Peppers.  In the three games he did play I was excited every time he stepped on the field.   This is a top ten defensive unit with an emphasis on unit.  Team effort, top 10, nameless defense is fine with me.  With a guy named Taco you can never be truly nameless.

Just saw Costello is going to

Just saw Costello is going to Stanford over USC and Michigan.  There is only one person to blame for this and that's Jim Harbaugh.

Helmet Stickers, yes please.

Helmet Stickers, yes please.  I'm okay with no more legends jerseys. We had, I think, four on the field and went 5-7 that's not legendary.

1st and 2nd, who knows? Jim

1st and 2nd, who knows? Jim Harbaugh does.

Damn he must LOVE quarterback

Damn he must LOVE quarterback competition,  I mean Luck in the fold and still trying to land RGIII.  Could you imagine that even Harbaugh would have been reduced to a coin toss when selecting his starter. At least at the college level not the pros.

James Ross

"A rushing Penn State game suggests that there's a real player in there if the coaches can just unlock it; pressure from behind is minimal."

James Ross didn't get the PT I thought he'd get after a soph. year with 85 tackles.  He's solid to the ball and is as good of an option in coverage as any other LBs on the roster.  I really can't remember a string of mistakes that would have limited his PT but then again JmfingR was back.  Gedeon is also going to crack the line-up, dude is a physical freak.

I like this team.  Beilein

I like this team.  Beilein has the misfits within 3 plays down the stretch on the road in leauge play.  Taking teams to OT and squeezing out W's.  Not good at all against the elites but I think I'll love this team next year.

Durkin + Mattison =

Durkin + Mattison = Harbaugh

So are you saying you think

So are you saying you think it's common?

I guess when Harbaugh brings

I guess when Harbaugh brings up families it's calculated.  I don't think it's calculated to get the kid to come to M but to reinforce why he is recruiting kids in general.  The guy loves his family and it's the highlight of his life, I think he genuinley is comfortable talking about his and others when he feels they need to be commended/praised.

I agree 100% that I would love to hear the Who's got it better than us? Nobody?! chant...but only after a road win at Utah.

Hell yeah muppets! Any time

Hell yeah muppets! Any time we beat ohio I'm okay with it. I mean hockey, softball, wrestling ect. muppets all day long.

It took Harbaugh 4 years at

It took Harbaugh 4 years at Stanford.  He had a total of 7 four stars (yes Luck was one of them) that year, 3 of them being true freshmen.  He is sitting on a roster that has 35+ four or five stars on it. I get it a new system, questions at QB and lack of development by previous staff but I don't think it unreasonable to believe we'll see visible gains this season and a turn around by 2016.

The first step in a late

The first step in a late season Beilein run to the tourney and improbable sweet 16 game or MSU by 10 in OT?

Had to read that twice.

Thought you said 'Dude's I really like dude's." Then followed that with " I really like peters." Which is fine if you do, but then I saw where you were going.

Lets just get some Harbaugh

Lets just get some Harbaugh wins under our belt then see what happens with recruiting.

Mora will be in the NFL next

Mora will be in the NFL next year. I'd bet that if he's not I'll eat a lemon....but people take that kind of thing way to seriously around this blog..

just asking.

Is Diddy Combs worth half a billion dollars? Does Diddy's son still play football for UCLA?

I think there will be more

I think there will be more attrition.   If not having enough scholarships at  the end of the day is our biggest concern tomorrow I'd be out of my mind with excitement.  I have to believe that when iMAN announces and he says Michigan or even has a chance of saying Michigan there will be a scholarship available.

So what phone call did Jay

So what phone call did Jay Harbaugh over hear that had him giddy on Twitter?  I'm looking forward to signing day it seems we still have a chance with a few of these guys. The last time I watched a presser for a kids selection it was DaShawn Hand. Let us hope tomorrow isn't full of moments like that.  This is a small class anyway but a decent one even with just the nine. Add Harbaugh to that number and this has been a good recruiting year.

Harbaugh is going to play the

Harbaugh is going to play the QB that makes the best decisions with the ball. That's all I need to know.
