Lemmy Kilmeister (RIP)

Before he died he switched from Jack and Coke to screwdrivers, saying Coca-cola can fuck-off. He at least had as good of material as any other front man.

Right-on

Spot-on. This is significant as Coach H is winning in a way that creates a destiny-type environment. Every recruit hosted at the Big House will see true frosh playing significant minutes. Time is now vice "later
". Good stuff.

Well-Tuned

The best part of this game was the efficiency of every string. There was little or no confusion, very precise execution through Morris' rotation. Absolutely thrilled that the staff burned redshirts to gain exposure for younger players considering it fulfills prior statements and pledges. Finally, very happy for Higdon and his TD, he had one of the better recruiting stories of '15.

Since N'Western

During the Northwestern game I was convinced Harbaugh was building a powerhouse program. The win today is the foundation of that. This team was all business all week in Florida and came out and just drubbed the SEC East champ. With a consistent run game I do not see how the Wolverines of '16 will miss out on the B1G championship game. They clearly can dissect a secondary. With a run game and a dominant DLine this team is flat out poised for a championship run.

Scrantastic

Are you from NEPA? I grew up in the Hill section and Dunmore. See you up the Eynon.

Autobahn

Dantonio pissed on the dude's rug.

He's miserable and content (and egotistical) at East Lansing. The pain of competing with Michigan and OSU will settle in slowly and painfully. Misery loves company, welcome to the 3rd tier of the B1G East (eventually).

The Rug

Dantonio pissed on the Dude's rug.

Hear You

Mr Y, I purposefully left out Rutgers and generally concur with your comments. I think the base will warm up to MD after this bball season and, perhaps, some in person attendance at M athletic events at College Park. I would not give them props unnecessarily.

MD -Big Ten

It would be great to stop busting balls about MD joining the B1G. Sure, it is a small sample, but the MD fans today were cool and gracious hosts. They like being part of the B1G. Some can bitch and bitch about including MD in the conference, but it is great to have the Wolverines roll into the DC area - for in person attendance and TV mkt revenue. So, just accept it, which is easier after hanging out and drinking beers with the MD faithful.

Karl

I am here to fix deine cable (cob-ull).

'91

Back in the day, but not way back (ie 19 hundred-91), I remember a certain Dbag Buckeye fan who caught a few of the 'mallows and ate them. This was quite peculiar since such defiance did not bode well for his team or stomach. In a perfect world fans could freewheel marshmallows and fireworks.

Hyde Park/Express

I agree with the above post regarding a hotel near Hyde Park, that is the best area for a short stay and would offer decent access to Wembley. I lived in London for a couple years, the city really has a lot to offer and it is very hard to stay idle. Near Hyde Park are so many places I would re-visit, incl the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Wallace Collection, Inn the Park (near HorseGuards) and the understated Allsop Arms Pub.

One other tip, take the Express from Heathrow vice the Tube or a cab. It is a bit pricey but will start your trip on the right foot and save time. Good luck.

Billy

Damn straight, Billy Batts. What's humorous about that scene is he refers to "my pahty" and there are only like three people at the end of the bar (Hendry's bar).

Newish Term

Thanks, educational. Perhaps I heard the phrase pad level, but I listened to so much freakin Metallica and Megadeth back in the day it may hav been drowned out. Lower most def stuck, incl when we had to run through "chutes" of metal pipes to get jacked by a stronger dude at the other end trying to choke you via shoulder pads.

Lower!

As my old high school ball coach used to say "you sonsabitches need to attack lower than the other sonsabitches." We had far less technique than a caliber coach like Drevno could provide, but lower (exclamation) was always a pretty good rule.

Slick, but fallible

Proof of the man's slickness/intelligence was his ability to basically make Weber and Elliott friends to the point Elliott confided in Weber that he would leave after the '15 season.  Brilliant insight into what now seems like manipulation vice sponsorship/comeraderie.

Indeed, he is all over playing the game, but I think his games will wear thin with more than a handful of straight up high school coaches eventually.

Thanks

Thanks very much for this post, it is a great recap of a moment in someone's life.  I will be rooting for this young man to succeed, not just because he plays for M, but because your post has convinced me that he is a special person.

Little Doubt, but Upside

There is no doubt that this, like UCLA/Smith, that this is bullshit (booowlsheeeit as Buford Justice would say) and Weber was deceived.  On the upside...

Higdon is a great gain.  The story in the diary is flat out great as far as winning over fans to want a player to succeed.  Much different circumstances than a lad who decommitted basically during the "game."

The upside...as I texted to my Buckeye neighbor: Wheatley Sr. is going to own Detroit.  This story may get some legs and the future (good "men" as Iman Marshall's dad said + a winning culture) is bright.  In this perfect world, Urban Meyer/liar will stay out of Detroit.

Great Stuff

Makes me want to cry like those kids when they saw the dude with the lizard head at the revival.

The Positive of 2014

While 2014 has been rough, one positive is being able to take pride in the school and program despite the losing.  There is bonding to be gained by both winning and losing.  When non-Michigan fans ask me about the current search, I tend to bookend the conversation with "our memories will not be short."  No need to get emotional about the roller coaster of this search, what happens happens.  Keep a long view and remember this next season.

Thanks

Thanks, dude.  This is very entertaining.

Dunmore

Viva Dunmore Bucks, class AA, PIAA.

Feldman

Feldman is a straight up jagoff from seeing his comments live over the weekend.  Disagree with the "disorganized" bit, seems more like there is an actual strategy this time round, but our real-time craving for any bit of info doesn't jive with the human emotions involved.

Pinkel?

Gary Pinkel?  Great track record, Ohio recruiting experience.

Sort of like Roy Williams sans Super Bowl

Agree, the situation reminds me of how North Carolina brought Roy Williams back from Kansas after the Matt Doherty fall-out.  The main stumbling block for landing Harbaugh is his drive to obtain a Super Bowl ring, but as some others here have argued he could very well find appealing the whole Bryant-Saban, Schembechler-? potential.  Roy Williams' return to UNC is a more fitting analogy for Les Miles, but obviously the same argument could be made for Jim Harbaugh.

Some key lessons from the Williams decision involved Dean Smith personally courting him.  He even seemed to accept the decision grudgingly, but went balls out when he returned to Chapel Hill.  If the situation is similar in terms of the personalities involved, it seems like Miles will return to A2 at the end of the day since he already has a NC.

Main Criterion for Headhunters-Line up

While the B1G is pretty weak, it has two premiere coaches right in our division.  Reading through the threads on the board I tend to imagine a line-up with the prospects and Meyer and Dantonio.  Predictably, Harbaugh and Miles stand out as being able to not just get the job done, but push back on their attitudes.  Most of the other names thrown around don't have that same oomph.  If anything, will be happy to see someone who brings a big, fuck off William Wallace-esque sword to East Lansing vice a tent stake.  If the headhunting firm can identify the right Off. Coordinator or (preferably) DC with that potential stature, then it will be money well spent.  If not, most knowledgeable fans could produce a sound result with the line-up.
