Nice summary

Winning the group is not that important in some cases. Portugal would have to face Belgium if they won their group. If they end up 2nd, they probably play Slovakia or Wales.

The game and stadium suck,

The game and stadium suck, but I had a good time in San Antonio for the Alamo Bowl.

And I'll say it--since the

And I'll say it--since the Athletic Department just about killed the Blue Lot, Michigan's scene is downright dismal now. The parking situation is a disaster just about across the board.

Agreed. I wish the athletic department had built a new basketball arena somewhere else. Crisler is much better than before, but it's still nothing special and that space would have been really convenient for tailgating etc.

My favorite one

Awesome!

No thanks on Lucic. He's not

No thanks on Lucic. He's not the same player he was in Boston, plus he's a huge d-bag.

I hope Holland does everything in his power to sign Stamkos. Wings haven't had a goal scorer like him since Fedorov in the early 90s.

As far as defenseman go... according to the Paul Friesen of the Winnipeg Sun, the Jets might trade Jacob Trouba. I hope Holland is working the phones as we speak. I would trade almost anyone (besides Larkin and Mrazek) for him. The team really needs a top level d-man.

Henne was great in year one.

Henne was great in year one. If we can get that kind of productions from someone this season, we'll make the playoff.

As Brian would say...

Mississippi Is A Black Hole Nothing Escapes

Currently, they allow fans to

Currently, they allow fans to bring in bags inside and not all of them get searched. It really shouldn't be that hard to institute a 'clear bag' policy like in the states.

There's also rumors that Torcida (the hooligan group responsible for this) got help from St. Etienne ultras (the local club supporters group) by hiding the flares inside the stadium so that the Croats could get them without having to sneak them in. That's probably how they were able to have that many flares.

Some of the normal fans

Some of the normal fans attacked the hooligans that started the trouble. These guys are lucky Tuđman is no longer in charge of Croatia or they would never see the light ever again. But thanks to the EU and their lack of action against hooligans/terrorists, these guys will get a slap on the wrist and be back to doing this again next time around.

They've been causing problems

They've been causing problems long before Suker became president of HNS. Honestly, Mamic/Suker are corrupt nobody argues that, but who in their right mind would turn to these idiots to fix anything? They're last on my list of who can fix the corruption and last people on the planet I'd want dictating any sort of leadership/policy.

We don't have the defense to

We don't have the defense to go far. I would be happy with getting to the quarterfinals.

I'm Croatian and this is

I'm Croatian and this is becoming ridiculous. These are not fans, they are hooligans (Torcida Split) who are anti-Croatian Soccer Federation and are purposely trying to get the national team banned. They already caused problems before, like the flare troubles in Milan and the swastika incident in Split. I'm not sure how you deal with these idiots... they are already banned from stadiums inside Croatia and should be on a hooligan black list for Euro and World Cup matches. I also don't understand how they can enter a stadium with as much as 10 flares. Where's the security?

BTW, they even announced that they were going to St. Etienne today to cause trouble...

Part of that plan includes a

Part of that plan includes a possible roof replacement at Oosterbaan Field House and a new turf field there

Why? The place needs to go. It sticks out like a sore thumb next to the Glick.

I was hoping they would get rid of it and build a new museum/weight room in it's place. Speaking of weight room... any news on that front?

Maybe the fault lies more at

Maybe the fault lies more at Donovan and Reyna and Beasley's feet than in Arena's head, but at this point I just want a Dutchman. Or Klinsmann. Or just anyone who doesn't remind me very strongly of Lloyd Carr with a two-touchdown lead.

LOL

Dutchman? I wonder if Brian would want Rijkaard...
