I wouldn't say I like what we have, but if we're going to portal someone in and roll the dice on disrupting the little QB continuity we do have, it would have to be for someone who is actually, like good.
That wasn't a pass breakup, that was a touchdown breakup. Ball was secured, about to get the feet down, and somehow Mikey got in there to save the game.
Got a fantastics brand national championship shirt and can confirm it's utter shit.
The armholes are shallow, if that makes sense, so any time I move my arms, the bottom of the shirt tugs up abnormally. I even notice it when I fold the shirt. It's also paper thin and don't think it's going to survive more than a wash or two.
What happens with RichRod if he wasn't completely undermined by the previous regime and jealous actors?
He was handicapped from day 1, and it's embarrassing that so many so-called Michigan men put their personal politics ahead of the success of the program.
Maybe he flames out regardless. But he should have at least had the support of the program that hired him.
There's no proof Ohtani is anywhere near Rose, a noted gambling junkie.
But this scandal opens the door for all kinds of doubt.
At best, Ohtani didn't actually know, but he was compromised by a known gambler and open to outside influence.
At worst, Ohtani could have been using his interpreter as a front for his own gambling. After all, what kind of bookie gives a normal person a $5 million line of credit?
I don't know if it's changed under Harbaugh, but I remember going to our Spring game in school, and they weren't even showing the field on the big screens or announcing players. Me and my roommate sat in the stands for 30 mins and then left.
But I went to OSU's spring game (yeah, sue me) and it was the same setup as a game in September, with the band, player intros and hype videos, time keeping, PA announcements, etc.
Yeah, I never understood the people saying this was Saban's best coaching job because he didn't have a great team.
He had stars on stars on stars on that roster. If FSU's QB doesn't get hurt, then Bama misses the playoffs, and we'd be talking about how bad a year Saban had to miss the playoff with that much talent.
Ex-teammates would be like "Kobe told me I'd never be good, and he locked me out of my hotel room, and he slashed my tires, and told my mother that she should have swallowed me instead..."
And then end it with "...he just wanted to win so bad, he was a true competitor"
People love to clutch pearls over players misbehavior while they're playing, but quickly come to adore that trait over time.
Look at Barkley, Tyson, Michael Irvin, Pedro Martinez, Laimbeer, Suh, the 80's university of Miami team, etc.
A week before Kobe Bryant died, there were a million stories about how much of an asshole he was. A week later, the same stories showed how much of a "competitor" her was.
I bet half the people who are screaming that Warde isn't firing Juwan fast enough were also the same ones saying Warde did a great job this year because he didn't fire Harbaugh in 2000.
It's clear Warde defaults to non-action, so stop holding your breathe that this will be any different.
If you believe the stories from the recruiting trail, Alabama had a system in place for compensating players. I doubt Saban had to actually talk numbers with any players. He just knew that if he offered a player, they would be taken care of by their system of boosters.
A couple of other schools have been rumored to have similar programs. As long as the coach offered them, the players were going to get some form of compensation, and it would be competitive with the 4-5 other programs.
So yeah, Saban probably wasn't sitting in front of players talking numbers, so he has plausible deniability, but c'mon. And suddenly, now he's got players who can field dollar offers from every school, and they're coming to him directly. Yeah, he's not going to like it.
He liked it when they got their under the table money, and had to act grateful to him for it. But now that it's an open market, and they can discuss payments openly, he's acting as if they're selfish and all about the money.
He puts a nostalgic twist on it, but reading between the lines, he wants players under his thumb.
Some scout is going to watch Milton throw the ball a mile at the combine and take a chance on his raw strength and draft him above much more NFL draft prospects.

Gigantic play.
At this point, I'm a Savannah Bananas fan all the way.

The articles and tweets are all saying single car accident.
Doesn't make it any better, but gotta be accurate with this stuff

I mean, isn't it his job to say that his job will become more important than it currently is?
Shouldn't have been any doubt about him and Big Ben
Poor Barry did not get the sendoff he deserved because so many people assumed it was a negotiation tactic.
What I remember hearing was that he retired, but he'll be back by the Fall.

I think Denard playing hero ball was really the only option.
Even a more traditional QB like Tate F couldn't muster much after Lloyd gave up recruiting and then RichRod's arrival shook up the roster.

This was available on Delta flights for a while. I probably watched it 5 times in a year
Nope.
We also don't make a spectacle of it.

I think this data confirms that there is a correlation between high number of 5*s and and playoff success... most of the time.
Just because UM proved it wrong this past season doesn't mean that it's not a decent predictor of future success.
According to the Hello post, Donovan was a just a hair under 5* when he committed:

I know the 24/7 composite is stricter on 5 stars, since all it takes is one outlier service to weigh down a players ranking.
Clearly Jim didn't see that Day is #tough now
Would our D line clap the other team in to submission?

You should start a new thread for this suggestion.

I read this as when a school not named Bama/Clemson/Georgia/OSU has a chance to win a title, that Saban wasn't interested in competing any more. 😉
I don't shed a tear when a guy who made a career off paying players starts complaining that players are expecting money now.
There are some other coaches who can definitely lament the NIL era of player, but when it comes from Saban, it sounds like whining.
He…
He kind of infers it.
