Well not all of them.

+1 to you. I did not think of that scenario. I retract my previous opinions about the rule.

"It's not really very complicated and is pretty hard to screw up."
Ever heard of Murphy's Law?

As Space Coyote said, +1 to you for the history lesson. I still think it is a stupid to even have that option in place.
|6 days 20 hours ago||When do you think a team last||
When do you think a team last intentionally chose to kickoff twice to start both halves? From the history lesson above, I would say at least 4-5 decades ago. That does not fit my definition of a good rule. It does fit my definition of a waste of time.
"It's not just for an opportunity to berate a college kid for doing something stupid"
In most other cases, a college kid would be berated for doing something stupid that they knew was stupid. I bet this kid did not know this was even possible and was probably not even listening to the ref explain the ramifications of their decision.

"Hate crimes, suicide bombers, the 3rd Reich were the result of "just words"."
Not to get too far off-topic, but I think you are greatly oversimplifying things here. Words did not create an environment for those things to happen, words just negatively brought people together that already had some sort of resentment. So yeah, they are "just words".
|1 week 1 hour ago||Which brings me back to my||
Which brings me back to my original point, why is this even an option? Seems like a waste of time and just an opportunity to berate (I'm not saying anyone here is doing that) a college player for making a mistake which could end up being the difference in the game... I believe Texas lost by 3.
|1 week 2 hours ago||Why is that even an option?||
Why is that even an option? If one team kicks off in the first half, the other team should kick off in the second half. I always assumed this was a rule since I see no advantage to kick twice, unless you have no one that can kick off...

Is there a particular age you are referring to? When I was spanked, it never made me think hitting someone else was acceptable. My kids did copy that behavior when they were very young (<3), but they quickly learned the difference between spanking and hitting.
|1 week 3 days ago||To me, there is a difference||
To me, there is a difference between fearing your parents and fearing doing something wrong. My kids don't fear me, but they do fear being in trouble.
|1 week 3 days ago||I agree, until I am able to||
I agree, until I am able to reason with my kids, I'll continue to spank them. So far I haven't had to go past six years old with the spanking (my youngest daughter is pretty stubborn).

I wonder ihow the offense would have been if both of them played at the same time? Tate at QB and Denard as everything else.

How about 10-3? Would you take that bet?
|1 week 5 days ago||Sure, but other than this||
Sure, but other than this (assuming he is guilty of incompetence), what else has he done to warrant his resignation? Or do you think this was bad enough (again, assuming guilt).
I for one like a lot of things that Goodell has done, such as suspending a lot of players for continually getting into trouble (and yes, he did miss the mark with Ray Rice). While some of the fines the NFL has been handing out to "headhunters" are ludicrous, I applaud him for at least trying.

Is there video of the domestic violence? I ask because it makes a huge difference for public opinion.

There is proof that Tressel was lying. Where is the proof against Godell? Also, Tressel had a lot to gain from lying, what did Godell have to gain from it?
If Godell did see the video, I can't see why he suspended Ray Rice for only two games, but I don't think he should be fired for it.

So before you saw the elevator video, you were 100% certain the whole thing went down like that?

If everyone had to resign for being incompetent or lying based on one instance, more than half the country would be out of a job.

I'd wager that plenty of QBs will look good against Rice.

"The acceptance rates are artificially lowered due to the ease of applying."
I believe there is still a fee for every school you apply to, so I can't imagine too many people applying solely on the ease of applying.

So to clarify, are you saying that Ray Rice was justified in "defending" himself?
|2 weeks 1 day ago||"I want to know what she||
"I want to know what she did."
I have no problem with what you are really asking, but the way you framed the question makes it sound like she definitely did something to provoke what happened. I know that is not what you meant, but that is how I read it and probably a lot of others as well.
