I was the OP... And will take the L here. But I *think* people thought I was complaining about my own initial post? Or perhaps that I was criticizing a former player with my 4 carries comment? Not sure... Poorly worded on my part. I really like keeping up with Michigan players after they graduate.
I didn't know that. I hadn't really followed any XFL,but just stumbled across it this afternoon. I'm not sure 4 carries for 15 yards was message board worthy
Honest question here ... Does it matter for her? I'd suggest a small inexpensive lightweight device. Spend the money saved by not getting an apple logo and get a separate monitor for her room so she has enough screen real estate to be productive. I don't think hardware or Mac vs. pc matters much anymore, and assume that 90 percent of what she does will be in web apps anyway for collaboration purposes.
Anthony's was always my favorite in Ann Arbor. Now that I live in Ohio, I'd pick Dewey's for Columbus. They are nothing alike. I never understood the love for cottage inn.
I struggle with these charts. If every state randomly tested x% of the population each week, then I'd understand how we were comparing infection rates over time. But with so many different testing protocols, I have no idea what these numbers mean.
I will say, here in Cincy, we've had stay at home orders in place a long time. But, if you drive by a home Depot the parking lot is packed. The grocery stores are busy, and I dont see lots of people giving space, wearing masks etc.... Things were quieter 2 weeks ago. I think alot of people feel like "okay... I did my part, this is getting old now."
I really enjoyed the 1995 OSU game. I grew up in Ann Arbor, but this was my first OSU game as a student, in the student section. Watching Biakabatuka run for 300+ yards, was so much fun. I don't know if I enjoyed a game more than that one. Even though I went to the rose bowl in 98, this one stands out to me. I believe a freshman Charles Woodson got an interception in that game too.
Thanks for the thoughtful response. I was out of line and ignorant of the complexity of the issue.
It wasn't an accusation of laziness, as much as the juxtaposition of thoughts of fishing and reading and entertaining a toddler against thoughts of people losing jobs, access to services, and business at risk of closing.
I kind of hope you will be teaching / lesson planning the next month. Our district/teachers have told us that they will provide lesson plans and be available remotely during the course of the school day. All kids have Chromebooks, and they turned on access to google hangouts to allow for teacher student interaction (although I don't think live "webinars" are in the cards yet, video lessons might be). The local cable company is providing free high speed internet to K-12 families for 60 days.
I probably sound old man get off my lawnish, but this isn't really vacation for most of us. Get to work... Neg-Away.
Back when Michigan stadium had the old urinal troughs, and we mooed our way through the lines, a Michigan fan got called out by a visiting Spartan for not washing his hands after taking a piss. The Spartan puffed out his chest and said "At state they teach us to wash our hands after we go to the bathroom". To which this Michigan fan replied, "At Michigan we don't pee all over ourselves."
Not the most creative or fanciest pick, but my Webber (similar to spirit 300) caught on fire after 10 years of use. It was a grease/ oil fire accdue toumulation of a Summer's worth of marinaited meats, and poor cleaning. Not as bad as it sounds, but it was hot enough that it melted the plastic knobs.
I went to order some replacement parts, and ended up speaking with sales person there. She asked for some photos, and then they sent me all new internal guts along with the knobs for free.
One could argue that this is them protecting themselves against potential claims. But their interest and attention to a small incident was unexpected. Now they didn't earn any business from me because it will be another decade or two before this needs to be replaced, but now poor guests at my house have to hear my old man stories about when my grill caught on fire and how great their service was.
I was looking for a 3 row vehicle last year. We have 2 kids, and just wanted an occasional 3rd row for carpooling, or when the grandparents were visiting. We were looking for a small 3 row SUV, but we ended up with an Honda Odyssey. It cost less than pilot, highlander, or similar sized SUV, it got better mileage, it was easier to access the 3rd row, and the sliding doors are much easier to use the garage. So… now I drive a minivan to work. Plus, since the Odyssey is due for a new model next year, it should be even cheaper than when we got it.
We're you on the civil side. I felt the same way with my civil classes, but it seemed that the environmental profs were more involved in teaching... That was also 20 years ago... But alot of the names are the same.
I'm a Mich CEE grad. I was on the civil side, but took some environmental classes and had environmental engineering friends through Chi Epsilon. I thought the environmental profs I had were excellent.
I don't live in Ann Arbor, but go there to recruit CEE grads for new hires. We get excellent candidates from the program.
Make the cleats worse. We can make revisions to the helmet, but the brain is still banging around the skull when the head abruptly stops moving. That acceleration/decleration can only be modified so much by adding padding. Reduce the impact force, by reducing the ability of the defender to launch themselves.
You could add offense by having different cleats for offensive and defensive players. That would be better for the game than adding ticky-tack pass interference penalties.
If you want to protect a building from an earthquake, you can make it stronger...or you can base isolate it.

I'm assuming SI never really had anything to do with the hotel, and they were just licensing their brand.

Live there currently. I saw this on my walk yesterday.

I'll get hate for this one but SRV - Voodo Child
I'll get more hate for this one, but Pentatonix - "daft punk".. I know it's a medley. It's still pretty amazing.
Then the two most Obvious ones to me because they seem like the original... Hendrix - All along the watchtower... Respect - Aretha Franklin...
I believe their wins stopped "counting" when they were no longer the equivalent of a D-1 FBS team.
Not to scare anyone, but we're barely winning in time of possession

1) Ram 2500.... More likely to have a DWI than most.
2) Toyota Corolla Hybrid... 57 mpg, and gas is expensive.

I think the Redtails just makes to much sense, so that probably eliminate it from contention.
In Cincinnati. User name is from grad school when I was doing research with structural composites.

I only applied to Michigan. I was going to apply to northeastern as well, but at that time they required 2 essays. That wasn't going to happen for me.
Urban Meyer?
I assumed this was parody, but now I'm not sure. Really looking forward to football season!

Not a Sandler fan by any stretch, but this was funny (in my opinion... but others thought so too).
Edit... this was not a random plug. I was trying to respond to a post above, and failed.
Wait until March madness.
The dollop.... Look for the jetpack episode.

Podcasts: The Dollop. Look up the episode on Jetpacks, and the San Diego Tank incident. Also I listen to "probably science".
NBC has a write up on McGuffie if you're interested.

What if they bring Vuvuzelas?
