I do some crossfit exercises that a buddy of mine showed me, but definitely not a crossfitter.
It is amazing what the human body is capable of, though.

As the father of 2 little girls, that was totally adorable. Also great to see her so passionate about something, and that it's Michigan makes it that much better. Go Sam!

Loved the insights. I'm not particularly creative, so it's always fascinating to me to hear about what inspires those who are. Thanks!

doesn't seem particularly like something i want to be googling while at work. maybe later.

Who knows how many parents complained in the past, or how many kids quit, and nobody ever heard about it. Maybe Waters is a scapegoat with the new president trying to make his mark, but at the end of the day, it was the right thing to do.
Of course, I'm also of a firm belief that the kids involved should also be punished for violating the student code of conduct.
Prohibited conduct includes:
and more, probably

is to penalize the students who perpetrated these activities.

There are some real die-hards commenting on the article that this is completely normal and acceptable behavior, and that anyone who does not like it should just say no or quit the band. That many of the commenters supporting this behavior are alums of "TBDBITL" (abbreviation for "the best damn band in the land") is also quite telling.
The fact that the fired band director is also an osu marching band alum is telling. Perhaps he, too, was jaded or accepting of the fact that this sort of behavior goes on. Either way, 2 years should have been PLENTY of time to change the culture, if he really wanted to.

that doesn't help me at all. Still have no idea what you're talking about.

It would be great if you (jonvalk) could also give a little explanation of the thought process of how you came up with a particular theme, design, motif, whatever. I find that I enjoy that as much as the end products themselves. Thanks!

City qualifying and city finals have no time limit (first round). The second round (first round of the finals in vegas) has a time limit. Third round has no time limit. Fourth and final round at Mt Midoriyama (if it's like Sasuke - the original Japanese show - nobody has gotten there on ANW so far) should have a time limit.

Draymond Green, Cody Zeller, and Victor Oladipo. So that's 5/11 from the Big Ten. Not bad.

but they don't play in their bare feet. that's why they've been listing heights in bare feet AND shoes at the combine lately.

Rodrigo y Gabriela are pretty darn awesome
So are Strunz and Farah, a very eclectic classical guitar duo with rock, jazz, flamenco, latin influences.
I've been listening to these guys a lot lately.

I think moreso than saying her weight was a disadvantage, they were just emphasizing that she's TINY.

As you're a noob to the show, it should be noted that this is her 3rd time (I believe) appearing on this show, and she is dating a guy (Brent Steffensen) who, although failing in his attempt this year, is a so-called "legend" of the sport. She's been doing dedicated full-time obstacle course and ninja warrior training for the last couple of years, so she does have an advantage over many competitors in that respect.
Not to diminish her accomplishment, b/c her lack of physical stature is something significant to overcome, but she's not just some random super-fit woman they found on the street.

Great power-to-weight ratio. Can't wait to see what your ant can do on the course. The jumping obstacles might be a little tough, though. May go with a drone ant with wings?

The pole grasper jump was pretty impressive. Great coordination. The thing that struck me is that all the guys who seemed to leap for the 2nd to last pole did so out of desperation and the hands tended to completely miss the pole. Kacy Catanzaro seemed to do so more intentionally than desperately (if that makes sense). Also, the leap on the previous obstacle (can't remember what it's called - tilting something) was pretty sweet.
Did I mention that my 6 and 8 year old daughters LOVE the show?

Not much of a road cyclist, but was in Des Moines last year for the Ironkids Tri Nationals and saw a thing on RAGBRAI in the museum there. Anyone ever done that? Looks pretty awesome.

To be fair, he is still only 18 years old, so this type of testosterone-fueled bravado is completely normal. The current thinking is that the brain isn't fully developed until around age 25, so he is a few neurons short yet (read: 18 year olds tend to be dumb) ;)

I think it's just awesome the fact that a stud football player is an unabashed SW nerd. One of those neat unexpected things, like Steve Breaston the poet.
