"He makes it really easy on you as a coach because he has tremendous football instincts," Michigan tight ends coach Jay Harbaugh said. "Things come really naturally to him. He doesn't have to see things too many times. He has a good sense for how things should look and feel, and he's a tough, physical guy."

and 10 years total, but Catholicism is still somewhat of a mystery to me. First, I grew up in Atlanta. Second, I'm of Korean descent, and there aren't many Korean Catholics (mostly, I'd say, Prebyterian).
When I first moved here out of college, I remarked to someone that she had a smudge of something on her forehead. She said, "No, that's ash." <blank stare> "You know, for Ash Wednesday?" Now, I knew all about Ash Wednesday, but not about this Catholic rite (?).
I also learned about Fish Fridays, went to my first Catholic wedding, and sat through my first mass.

He's suggesting that southerners don't take kindly to Catholics. And that's not exactly true. We just don't know any.

I never got into WLA. Didn't understand the schtick or perspective. And agree, too much ANGAR for the sake of being contrarian, even when it made no sense.

And the only reason it wasn't a shutout was because they scored a meaningless TD in the waning minutes, if memory serves.

It's like any sentence starting off, "With all due respect" actually just excusing the fact that you're about to disrespect the person, or "Not to be mean, but..." always being followed by something that is, in fact, mean.
"Not to name any names, but Joe is such a douchenozzle."

Granted, the point was not made particularly eloquently or clearly, but it's easy enough to infer the meaning.
As John Beilein once told Austin Hatch:
"One of the worst things you can do is set your goals too low and achieve them."

Some other conference can't meet its bowl obligations, in which case a 6-6 Big Ten team could be called up. It's not an unusual occurrence.

Hey, if God thought describing the universe after he made it as "good" was a good descriptor, then Harbaugh calling this team "good" is good enough for me.

Sorry, that was a whoopsie on my part. It's 6-2 against Cal (aka Cal-Berkeley) and 1-0 against Cal St-Long Beach in 1987. I was just trying to go in and edit, but you replied too quickly!

Note that it's games against teams from California and not games IN California, for which Michigan has a decidedly worse record.

That would be the last time Indiana started 3-0. They went 2-7 the rest of the way. Before that, they also started 3-0 in 2005, 2007, and 2009, going 4-7, 7-4, and 4-8, respectively. Based on history and science, Indiana will finish 5-7 this season.

Agree on medium-medium well for these. I'm Korean and this is how we've always done it, whether on the grill or in the over. You also want to get a decent sear, and even some char on the edges (that's how I like it, anyway).

As far as top private schools in Power 5 conferences that NW has played, that is the list. They've played Syracuse recently, but I wouldn't consider them an academic peer of NW. I have no problem with it. Not sure why other Michigan fans are getting their knickers in a twist over this.
