Don't sleep on scheme. Players weren't executing because the things they were being told to do were unnatural and stupid. I expect that inside zone will be bashed into our players brains enough that it will work and work consistently. I expect that we will run different plays from the same formation, too. Add in some counters (what a concept) and we could be really deadly because teams can't send 8 players blitzing on 1st and 3rd down.

Looks like Suarez' absence really bit Uruguay in the ass in this game.

If you know you're intelligent, more kids = better grade undoubtedly. Curves are all about how much motivation your competition has to cheat/constantly bug the GSI/profs for higher grades. With 400 students of whom most aren't going for professional degrees that competition is markedly lower.

I agree completely. While it's one thing that she openly acknowledges the fact that orgo 1 is nothing more than a weeder class, she refuses to teach the fundamentals of organic chemistry and tries to get all students to do rote memorization - and actually has taught wrong information on more than one occasion. Nice woman, but not good for preparing people on actual science tracks.

Right but apparently the lack of any coherent offensive game plan automatically brings your team down 10 notches. Add to that Borges criminally misusing Lewan (weak side tight ends in our 1-1 ace and I sets and the horrific tackle over) and you might as well have had a line with one dude and a bunch of freshman, which is what it was most of the time.

It doesn't matter because our football team is going 6-7 this year and the OL will be just as bad as last year. No point in watching. Hoke better start winning in 2015 or else. Our recruiting is terrible and we have no talent on either side of the ball.

As a book reader, I'm gonna say that I actually think these changes are pretty perfect because they sort of fill in the gaps as to missing information - like having Locke/Vargo up there sets up him mysteriously disappearing before shit goes down and returning to the Boltons, for example. Great episode!

The future is still bright. I've said this before, but Florida State looked like a complete tire fire even with an experienced QB (albeit EJ Manuel was not that good) and a freshman/sophomore line. Once those dudes grew up, Florida state became a pretty good team. Having Jameis of course didn't hurt, but Jameis had very little to do with their stellar running game anyway. There's going to be a moment this season when the O-line perfectly executes combo blocks on the opposing D-line and releases simultaneously to the 2nd level to pave the way for our talented backs. That's going to be magical and once they feel that chemistry, we're back in business

Um. Leadership is definitely the problem if that happens. The coaches can only get so much time with the team especially during the summer - it's up to the players to put their own time in to get better. You think players at schools like Alabama are sitting around drinking during their summers? No.. they're working as hard as they can to get stronger, tougher, and know their playbooks. If there is no team leadership from within, the younger players won't know how much work they need to put in to get better. It doesn't matter if the O-line spends the 5 or so hours a week alotted with Funk if they aren't putting in the time outside of practice to implement suggestions and learn schemes.

This is so true. Yeah gibbons hoke blah blah. What about the hundreds of other sexual assault cases that were not processed in a timely manner? It's clear that the CSG did not conduct this investigation in an unbiased manner instead choosing to bring inflammatory statements to the table for headline and shock value.

I don't think that's what he's saying - I think it's more like that sure homosexuality could possibly be a distraction, but that there are also people with violent histories or gang connections or drugs that are in fact distractions to the locker room but still are good players on the field

The pessimist in you is, in that case, part of the problem of putting sports players above everyone else. There are hundreds of sexual assault cases each year that the university does nothing about - while it is good that the Gibbons thing sort of gives a voice to these problems, what Gibbons may or may not have done pales in comparison to what non-athlete perpetrators do to their victims here on campus. Quite frankly, I've gotten the vibe that there is only so much interest in case because a MICHIGAN FOOTBALL player was involved, and not because there is any real concern for sexual assault victims.
Utterly and totally despicable.

Last thing (on phone so can't edit) - the case with the female graduate student was actually a lawsuit against the university and her faculty adviser and department chair. The university attempted to dismiss those charges, but the court upheld them. Hopefully the suit results in some action being taken against those two faculty members.
|25 weeks 1 hour ago||I should add that I am||
I should add that I am partially referencing another situation that was exposed on Ann Arbor watchdog. A female grad student in material science engineering was repeatedly verbally harassed, stalked, and physically and sexually assaulted all under the blessing of the university and the Matsci faculty. She has yet to find justice against her tormentors and I would be extremely disappointed if Brendan Gibbons was processed quickly simply because he is an athlete while more politically charged cases like the one above are left alone.
|25 weeks 1 hour ago||Perhaps it could be explained||
Perhaps it could be explained by the fact that this incident was not the only sexual assault case they were considering? Perhaps there were more terrible but not as public acts that University is obligated to deal with first? I've said this before in regards to other... things... Just because an athlete/athletic program is an athlete does not mean that they should receive different treatment than others. This includes benefits and punishments - everything should be done as fairly and impartially as possible.
