The BIG 12 is the most…

The BIG 12 is the most viable remaining league where you could go rule the roost and still have a respectable conference. You get the Texas footprint for recruiting, ratings, and teams like Okie St, Kansas teams, and whichever Texas team that's having a good year for the resume.

What I'm reading is Jayron…

What I'm reading is Jayron Hearse for the Cowboys, even Donovan Wilson. 6'3 box safeties who are above average covering in the slot and not over powered by TEs. Re signing both of them was a priority for Dallas's top 5-10 defense last 2 years. One that looks to take a big step forward with corner additions and of course, Mazi!

And you are limited to 10k…

And you are limited to 10k of SALT so no matter how much property tax, sales tax, etc you can itemize, 10k cap. I used to advise my clients to double up their property tax payments one year, take standard next, and rotate. Not helpful anymore

I was let go from a Dallas…

I was let go from a Dallas CPA firm by the boss who's a TAMU alum and huge booster, the day before APP State ruined their season last year. Was such a gratifying piece of poetic justice 15 years after they did it to us. He knew Michigan fandom and he was so proud of that recruiting class. I enjoyed every subsequent AM loss last year as much as any OSU loss

Pretty astonishing Michigan…

Pretty astonishing Michigan was all alone in second place with a chance to tie Purdue for the regular season trophy after the way it appeared to be going to start February. I sure hope the chips fall right because history tells us if we get in this team can be in the Sweet 16 battle tested.

Dan Quinn doesn’t even want…

Dan Quinn doesn’t even want any of these jobs. Rather coach the good side of the ball in Dallas, or a college team than Denver Indy or AZ. Hell AZ coach left the country to remove his name from this lot.

Miami will draft a QB. Commanders. Raiders. Jets. And the aforesaid Colts Texans and perhaps bears and Lions.  What happens with Kyler in Arizona? Stafford has what 2-3 years tops in him.

Cade also started half the prior year, had a full offseason getting all first team reps, didnt miss spring rehabbing or fall camp splitting reps with an incumbent starter that won the big ten title.

I remember thinking if Jim had gone to the Vikings, Mike might be a good choice for continuity and tradition.

Hendershot has been a find…

Hendershot has been a find for my Cowboys. It's cool to watch the overlap of an NFL team deploying lots of TEs like few pro or college teams do, but BOTH of mine do. And when your pro team has Ferguson, McKeon, and Hendershot all repping, with Schultz that wearing 86 and moves exactly like Schoonmaker. Football season is fun when your teams are good.

And I’ll say it for you…

And I’ll say it for you...has a CHIP so he’s still boss on our franchise just like Eli 😞

As a Wolverine and Cowboy…

As a Wolverine and Cowboy fan, it has begrudged me, as well as forced admiration on the fact that he’s still there and has ALWAYS been a problem. Truly the prize of the RR era and I never despised him sacking Romo or Dak bc we usually win 🤷🏽‍♂️

Wow they cannot be taken…

Wow they cannot be taken seriously. Cade should play as much as JJ in this game so hopefully he keeps his hopes up.

He should feel that way…

He should feel that way about himself. He’s part of a team that won the big ten though. I was mad when Dak took over for Romo. Cowboys won 12 games that year but I was barely excited for the playoffs. Clearly that was a good team though. Romo gracefully bowed out mid season because he saw there was no turning back from Dak. That’s likely where we are headed. But JJ has to play a real team first for this to really matter. And Ohio state was held under 30 last night. As was the case last year when our defense won us a big ten title as much or more than Cade did.

But the players know the dumb question askers care enough to pay them so ask away would be my stance if I were them

Chris Olave leaving last…

Chris Olave leaving last year would have had a negligible effect on that team. He was well compensated to stay I’m sure, but he passed up a year of earnings to get a first rd contract.

Considering how snowflakes…

Considering how snowflakes served us so well last year, I have a feeling we will start dreading them less in years to come. We may look back years from now and laugh at ourselves for this dubious attachment to something sad.

The cloud of doubt in…

The cloud of doubt in Columbus all season is what I’d like to see emerge out of week 1. Our games will be boring by the second half. The showcase of future talent will feel better know Ryan Day’s luster may soon wear off once we beat them as well. ND can steal recruits from us but they can also steal from osu with Freeman able to boast of it in living rooms. This could be a net win for us in games that matter in the future since we play osu every year and not ND.

If we can’t recruit on par we have ourselves to blame. Micro view we get back on par w osu in another couple cycles. Even without a natty I’m ok with that. Being 1-2-3 with osu and usc is an enviable position in the coming years. As long as we are not perpetually 3rd.

This is the conundrum of…

This is the conundrum of course. A ND win legitimizes all this freeman hype. Then we have another regional power with NIL rolling. However, last season we all had a glimmer of hope before the game because we saw them as beatable. Oregon wasn’t that great. Ohio state knew they had flaws. We replicated what Oregon exposed.

If Ohio state tastes their own blood in game one, they will have to fight ghosts of last year. Stroud heisman hype is put on chill for a month or two while we run the table. I like a month of September and October being the highest ranked team in the league and also being defending champs. Recruiting battles are relevant to later years when we may be two time defending champions with JJ in year 3 getting heisman hype. And hopefully Jadyn Davis in the fold reeling in big time receiver commits. And a euro d line no one saw coming. So my vote is F osu

I hate Day much less now…

I hate Day much less now that he is the coach that we broke the streak against. He's still very much sitting on 3rd base, but since he is very clearly beatable, I think Harbaugh is licking his chops. Especially since he game planned 2 wins over Urban that bounced the wrong way.

Raising Canes was in…

Raising Canes was in Columbus when I left in 2011. Their chicken is fresh and the sauce is defintely big time, but it's not something that you HAVE to try, in my opinion. Dallas has In and Out which is a Cali staple and it's as much hype as Cane's. Throw whataburger in there while at it. I loved them when it was this noveau thing, but it's just sort of meh now that I'm too old to be buying drunken burgers at 3am.

Now, if you've not sampled the Velvet Taco franchises that are all over Texas...you in fact are missing out

Still love the Bull, but as a now longtime Dallas resident who watched THE SHOT from Trey live, it would be most gratifying to see the two Mavericks get one. Poole though would play a significant role if the Warriors hoist the LOB Trophy. Looking forward to the WCF like few nba series I can recall in my adult life

Hubert Davis and Juwan…

Hubert Davis and Juwan inherited ready made situations. There are various iterations of starting in 3rd

Did he though? I personally…

Did he though? I personally enjoyed him in that seat to which he was relegated instead of coaching, and he gave honest insight on Michigan. It made me feel better that he had the scouting report on beating us and was in the analyst seat of having to say good things about us even though he effectively owned us.

His job was to be impartial and now that we beat them, I feel vindicated that we were actually the threat he was dutifully obliged to acknowledge. He’s a brilliant coach, let’s be honest. His analysis, while I loathe him as a person, came across quite authentic when he had to be as passionate of an analyst as he would have liked to have been coaching.

Right that’s not holding him…

Right that’s not holding him back. Whatever weight will come, that cannon he has is the strength that will get him drafted early.

The first ‘don’t fing touch…

The first ‘don’t fing touch me should have been enough’

oh you’re a big man huh, after you’ve put your hands on me... and you’re 10 inches shorter than me. I’m sorry. Gard has to let it go and keep moving.

Reverse the roles, if Michigan wins by 15 in Crisler and Gard is upset about a late TO, would Juwan forcibly stop him and say hey we just kicked your ass and oh btw you better not have a problem with my TO. No. Juwan coached an elite 8 team in his first year. And yet he’s a first time head coach. It can’t be lost that there’s some envy, for one. Also, we know how heralded this class was. Kicking us while down is an opportunity that won’t be available when these freshman get some seasoning. I’m just glad he gets to stick around and learn from his mistakes

Gard was not stopping Juwan…

Gard was not stopping Juwan in the handshake line to explain, ok. The plausible outcomes and their catalysts cannot diminish how none of this happens without Gards insistence on Juwan has to hear his two cents. Your interpretation of the level of this aggression discounts if a man doesn’t wanna hear what you have to say, keep it moving. The blame pie had to factor in how messy it got because of where it started. That’s why Juwan was calm in the presser. He was, in his mind, defending himself from being broached upon. Without that there is no incident. Should he have slapped the strength coach, no. But if someone pushes me, you can’t say I’m overreacting if I punch them. How do I know what’s to come after the push and from what energy that push came? He could have put his hands on his hips and stopped and stared Juwan in eyes and said what he felt and if Juwan didn’t stop then f it

I will defend coach ONLY…

I will defend coach ONLY because Gard deliberately poked the bear. Juwan did not seek him out. Gard knew his TO would be frowned upon be he held Juwan up in the handshake line to add his 2 cents

Not the place for that

And Juwan stayed out of the line to avoid the emotion he was feeling but Wiscy coach is a 6’0 white guy and sorry to say guys, adults still have pissing contests. Are chihuahuas afraid of pit bulls? No because they are dogs. But it would nonetheless be unwise for one to ACTUALLY try and fight one.

This is a disconnect in black and white culture and perhaps why there aren’t more black coaches. White people in power fear this. Neg away but it’s obvious why the responses on this board don’t account for the constant fight for legitimacy African Americans have to face to be the best in their field and Greg Gard should have just taken the win and text coach Howard his little pissy feelings. Instead he got Chicago native 20 year NBA pro who not finna take you putting your hands on him. And respect to Juwan for swinging on the strength coach who at least looked tough, instead of the little weasel who started the shit
