Completely agree with the first part of your response, but I wouldn't expect the 2nd response from someone who is over the age of 11. I know the official site policy is that Denard is the greatest and agree that he was electric and the type of player that we never had before. However, he never showed up against good teams, his most exciting plays were against mid-major teams where the athleticism gap was magnified. He was also incredibly frustrating to watch as he got worse every year and regressed as a passer. Tate Forcier would be about as worthy of a selection - at least you could say he was clutch and hasn't driven his car into a lake - yet.

Granite is obviously the standard assuming you are moving into a standard looking 1970s-2000s home. I bought a house from the 1920s when granite wasn't a thing so I had a woodworker make me some custom counters that are similar in concept to butcher block but stained dark, made with rough lumber and heavily sealed to protect them. Wouldn't be the right choice in most houses but fits this house.

As a counter to this point, if OP has only seen the 909 and LA, you should at least check out OC before you decide where to live. I lived in Hermosa and loved it but after moving to Newport, I couldn't imagine going back. It's a totally different world, you'll know you've hit OC when traffic eases up, the streets aren't filled with potholes, there aren't old mattresses on the side of the road, and graffiti doesn't cover every sign, overpass, and stray dog. It has some of the safest cities in the country and because there's money and businesses here, the county isn't strapped for cash so we have public services that keep it clean, safe, and usable schools (applicable if you have kids some day). It may not be for everybody (it's not the most diverse) but if you are coming from living in the midwest, it may be a place you feel very comfortable living. There are beautiful areas of LA County - like the South Bay - but you are still brought down by the rest of the county. Also, be prepared to spend most of your life avoiding jury duty and watching out for the county's fundraising team hiding behind signs with radar guns and giving out jaywalking tickets.

You've got the right idea with Pasadena, I think that's easily the most A2 similar place in the LA area. As someone who works in Corona (possibly worse than Chino) and briefly tried living near the office, I know your pain. The good thing is that you are one of the few people to work in the Chino/Corona area so for commuting you have flexibility because you won't have traffic. Fullerton isn't a bad option, not as nice as Pasadena but probably quite a bit cheaper. You could take the 91 west or 57 North and not have traffic.
I live in Orange - which also has a college, Chapman, and a nice little downtown called Orange Circle. Not as young as Fullerton but probably cleaner/safer/nicer, at least around the Circle. Has your wife looked at companies in Irvine - I don't know about bio/science jobs - but it seems more likely a company would set up there than LA? If she was there, it opens up the Beach towns, you could get from Newport or Costa Mesa to Chino in 30-40 mins. If you're not a big city person, and are looking for an A2 type experience, I think you'd be much better off with Pasadena than DTLA or the Hollywood area.
It's a weekend and you are living in Chino, so you might as well get out of there and explore.

The Michigan connection here is Kurtis Townsend. He was an assistant that Ellerbe brought in and he was responsible for some of the shadiest of Michigan recruits (Avery Queen and I believe Ingerson come to mind, probably Gaines). When I noticed him on the Kansas bench last year, it made me think that they must not be a clean program. This post helps clear that up.

Having worked in sports, I wouldn't worry about getting your degree in Sports Management. The more important thing is that you start volunteering/working in the athletic dept at whatever school you go to (bigger schools are more impressive) and/or for a local pro team. Nobody is going to care what your degree was in but they will be interested in your experience. If you went to Michigan I would actually recommend doing LS&A and taking some marketing classes from the B-School and for fun do a couple Sports Marketing classes in Kines too. The advantage of this approach is you get a broader education that will serve you better if you change career paths and you get real world experience in sports that will better prepare you for it and allow you to start making contacts (ex. the marketing intern at a Michigan will become the Director of Marketing at a MAC school and if you worked with him as a volunteer he may hire you as a marketing assistant at the MAC school when you graduate).

Agreed - I'm a Colts fan and always enjoy his writing. He is very level-headed and doesn't tend to be overly effusive in his praise, so these comments mean more coming from him than most.

How is the U-M crowd at Sangria? Is it a good setup? I don't remember them having a lot of TVs when I've gone out there before at night. Do they set them up in the dance floor area or are they just around the bar? I'm considering heading up there for the MSU game. I live in Newport Beach and have no interest in going inland to Tustin for the official Alumni Club event. The bar I normally go to in Newport, Rudy's, is technically a Michigan State bar, so that could be a good week to check out Hermosa.

Your annual law school loan payment would be more than a compliance job would pay - be prepared to make $30-40k/year. Also, if you couldn't tell by Labadie's responses - all 25 sports and every department - marketing, development, etc - sees you as a hassle and will avoid your voicemails and emails at all costs. It is very fulfilling work.

He's got Dwight Freeney's uniform # and build - he just needs to develop that inside spin move that Freeney uses because I'm pretty sure he won't be able to throw the tackle to the ground in college. Looks like a good one though - hope he has a good visit.

Those are good - I'll play around with it and see what I come up with. I also now know what meshuganah means, which is good.

Would be good if I was German. I saw a Dodge Caravan the other day that someone put one of those D stickers on and then a BMW logo badge over the Chryler one. I don't want to be that German.

Good thought and it could be available. I think I'm too old Michigan though to embrace All In enough to put it on my license plate just yet. Under consideration though.

Some good ideas there - I'll check on BLOCKM for sure and will think about an A2 one and the other campus references.

That's solid. The HL adds some mystery and makes it seem less like you are driving some guy named Victor's car
|6 years 26 weeks ago||I like it - that's clever.||
I like it - that's clever. My only issue would be the car I'm looking at cost $100k new (depreciation is my friend - its about 1/3 that now) and being a young guy driving it, I'd probably look even more like a spoiled, yuppy douche. In a neighboring state of Michigan it would probably be easier to do, because more people would get the Blue meaning Michigan reference. Here they would just associate it with the expensive car.
|6 years 26 weeks ago||That could work - I would||
That could work - I would have trouble deciding on the year though. The '01 is probably more significant to me but '09 paid for the car. Maybe UM 01 09 with the space between 01 and 09 being more of a half space.
|6 years 26 weeks ago||In fairness to Peterson, I||
In fairness to Peterson, I think I recall his dad being in the military or something and they moved frequently which was the main reason for the multiple high schools. He was always very nice, polite, and seemed very quiet in my encounters with him. Again, off the top of my head I think he got booted for being involved in some incident with a stripper in WQ and a fight with a frat. I think his issue was that class had some serious bad seeds - Jason Brooks, Demetrius Smith, Ray Jackson (I think that was his name/he was a FB), and they all lived right near each other in the dorms. I think he was more of a follower that got sucked into trouble. He went on to have a decent and stable NFL career before injury derailed it.

It would be hilarious if that was actually an MSU fan that really hates Tate Forcier

Combining your Victors with a Z and Internet T Guy's Victors with a 1, works - V1CTORZ . My only issue with that is that most people will just think my name is Victor and the z is possessive referring to the car. Still a leading contender though.

Well, Mendocino does have all the big banks so its a natural post-B School spot. JK If you have any questions about Ross let me know (theffern at umich), that's where I just graduated from.

Yeah I loved it there - lived on 15th & Hermosa this summer - you could see the ocean from our deck and just open the door and a cool ocean breeze came through the house. Took a job in Irvine though and the hour commute each way was wearing me out. Some day I'll end up back up there.

Clever - but see above. I'd like to get a USC plate and then put some form of CHEATS next to it but don't want some frat boy keying my car.

I like it except I think we've got enough Spanish out here already. I lived in Hermosa last summer and again for a couple months when I moved back out here. I think it has to be the best place on earth. Newport Beach isn't terrible either, but Hermosa is well, hermosa.

I actually had checked MGOBLOG - it is available. The problem with having a blog on your license plate is I don't really need any more help not getting laid. Plus Brian would probably get a lot of hate mail when I cut people off on my race to work in the morning.
Yes - SoCal is ridiculous, every day I'm amazed that there are people that have lived their whole life with winters like this. I feel cheated out of the first 30 years of my life.
