I would like to see Stauskus come in off the bench as the first sub in. He is instant offense which makes for a great sixth man, and it would also allow GRIII and Hardaway to get into the flow of the game. I won't claim to be an X's and O's expert when it comes to Bball, it just seems like the second rotation is thin on scorers and more defensive minded subs.
I agree with you to a certain degree.... But the same thing was said about him last year (won't be the starter), and he ended up being one of the only consistent members of the defense this year. As a fan it is impossible not to like the kid, his story is what make college football so fun to watch... But for the sake of the team and the program it would be a good sign of things to come if he isn't starting in the opener....
My comparison of Mattison was based on the same thing being said about him "he won't leave the NFL to coach the same position". I wasn't saying that he was going to come here because of mattison...
I swear I heard the same argument about our current DC.... Not saying you said it... I think DB set the tone of not speaking to potential coaches until their season is done. Hoke followed that example by not bringing Mattison in until his season was over. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Jon Hoke came to coach DB's... It's not like da bears DB job is the pinnacle of position coaching.... I wouldn't be surprised if he takes the job by Monday or Tuesday....
Finding the correct DC that fits, and can teach sound technique and can recruit at a big time level is more important then getting Frost or Crawford.... Honestly I think it is a good sign that he is taking this long....
If this kid can show the kind of fortitude, trust, and commitment to his teammates and this new staff, then I think we as fans should be able to do the same....
No source.... It just makes sense, and I would love to see it... DB wants to make a splash and serve notice to not only the B1G but the nation. Getting both would do that, and it would unite the fan-base... and I think he could sell Hoke on being the HC in waiting... Again if money is no object (and according to DB it isn't) then I don't see why this can't happen.... Hoke has said he would work here for free, so pay him to be the DC.... just a thought. I didn't see this posted by others, but if it was then great minds think a like....
