We all know he is going to Michigan, but just in case he will head somewhere else if RR is fired. Stop worrying, there is nothing we can do but sit back and wait to see the show.
The #1 and #2 seeds deserve the opportunity to play these smaller teams. The NCAA tournament is one solid sporting event we can look forward to each year. 64 teams is enough! Joke.
Having four play in games sounds a little far fetched. Sorry man, don't agree with this one.
I moved down to Florida from Michigan in 2006, the school I teach at gave me the nickname "Yankee". Everyone knows that I love that school up north, Michigan!! So it was easy to pick this out in November or December when I joined.
During my 2009 baseball season there was a parent who was having issues with their sons playing time, and he was wondering why I wasn't playing him enough. So this father pulled me aside and asked me a few questions about why he wasn't playing.
Then about two weeks later this parent calls me up and puts me on the spot, he says the following "my son came home and went straight to bed last night, he didn't eat or anything. The next morning we asked him what was wrong and he said that Coach *** (me) was not playing him in baseball games because the parents had a conversation with me".
He then told his parents that I told him this straight to his face. This never happened and in a small community this kind of stuff can get around. I have seen students take stories and run with them and that is my only point.
Looking back on this story now, if you didn't know the truth how would you have handled it? Coach to coach.
I think this is a tough situation, but I want to make a point by saying that even though you know your children that shouldn't be the final indicator of what your actions would be.
There are always two sides to a story, so I have always believed that looking at both sides is the best way to go. After looking at your post I thought you were basing your actions solely on your childrens side. My bad, please address the questions above because stories like this happen all the time.
He has a lot of ground to make up!!
I have a feeling that he will pick it up in the future. Everywhere he has left they were ranked 1st or won their last game (Title at GVSU, bowl win w/ CMU and 13-0 with Cincy).
I hope we are more successful then them and if his recruiting class is this bad then we can gain even more ground on Notre Dame.
Don't feel sorry, but he will figure it out.....hopefully it will take him some time.
Do you coach? Do you have any idea what students can say to turn things around on coaches? I am not saying that Leach or any other coach deserves a free pass, but to say that you wouldn't even sit down to talk about the situation is amazing.
What are you going to accomplish by doing this? If the student is right or wrong, that doesn't bother you? I agree that if Leach was wrong he should pay with his job. To say that no matter what I would get revenge even if I found out later that my son lied.....just because he's your son that doesn't mean that everything he does is correct. Just to remind you.
Maybe you should try coaching some time!!
worst part about the interview was the lawyer for the defendent, he says "it was both parties faults because they allowed her to have access to the money, and with no rules or procedures she didn't have a chance to say no". AKA it was to tempting.....are you kidding me, those people are what's wrong with our society today.
As he exits in his $100,000 vehicle!!
Either the number 8....Mouton and Sheridan had this previously. Or the number 6....Move Stokes to a different number, and Warren has left the building.
#6 or #8
I like the idea that some of our recruits don't have these top schools after them. The idea that these kifs have something to prove sounds great to me.
***2010 Michigan Wolverines "We have something to prove".
RR and signing day always a good combination. Like to sign Black and Parker if possible. Black is going to be hard though. Baxter is a tough pull, but something says RR will make a nice run at that kid...if he is willing to listen.
There were snow flurries in Miami the other night, it can get cold where ever Grimes chooses to play. Grimes doesn't want to play for Michigan, good luck somewhere else. We will move on like always!!
Hold on, wait a minute. You have no enthusiasm for next year and you are trying to stay positive.
They couldn't fall forward for a first down in 2008. We were 109th in offense yards in 2008 and we went up to 59th in 2009. We averaged a little over 20 pts a game in 2008, now almost 30 pts a game. improvement??
Yes, we hit a wall late in the season plus we were 0-5 on the road. Did you really think that a true freshman Forcier could take us to the promise land. You were one of those who bought into the hype about 3-9 one season to 9-3 the next season. You thought it will all work out and that some how we would be back.
Anyone who knows football understands that changing an offensive system from Pro style to a Spread offense will take some time. Don't judge after two years, give him 3-4 years then you can sit and say Yes or No.
Impatient Fans does not equal success for Michigan. It takes time, and YES.....stay positive!
Defense is young, and give them time with Coach Robinson.
Go Blue!!
Hard to argue with a record of 93-11 over the past 8 seasons. No one wants to see Boise State run the table and sit at 12-0 and #1 in the nation. Sorry, that scares people.
Preseason poll with Boise State top 5 is a long shot!
Eveyone has their opinions on the BCS, but this system sets up a hand full of teams to win the title. In reality only 15% of the nation can win the title based on preseason rankings.
What other sports have the same screwed up system?
All other major sports professional or amateur levels allow for teams to have a shot no matter what they are predicted to do in the preseason. Every year we hear Yankees and Mets or Red Sox and Dodgers to play in World Series. Glad that doesn't happen every year.
Go Blue!
End of regular season records
09:TCU- 12-0 PS=17th Final=3rd
Boise State 12-0 PS:14th Final=6th
Cincinnati 12-0 PS:33rd Final=4th
08:Utah 12-0 PS:29th Final=7th
06:Boise State 12-0 PS:31st Final=9th
04:Auburn 12-0 PS:17th Final=3rd
Boise State 11-0 PS:30th Final=10th
Utah 11-0 PS: NR Final=5th
03:Boise State 11-1 PS:39th Final=18th
02:Boise State 11-1 PS:44th Final=19th
**Just out of reach for all of these schools. none of them have a chance based on preseason rankings. Look at Boise State?? You think they deserve a higher ranking then 14th, takes the preseason polls 8 years to see a connection with success and Boise State. Wow!! 93-11 over the past 8 seasons and they still can't break the top ten...think about it!!
Now I know what Notre Dame feels like, always playing for nothing!! Not in the top 15 in the preseason poll then you have a 4% chance to play for the national title.
Preseason polls....recruiting
2009- 3rd (#9)
2008- 4th (#9)
2007- 1st (#2)
2006- 6th (#1)
2005- 1st (#6)
2004- 1st (#1)
2003- 8th (#1)
2002- 20th (#12)
Look for a 9th or 10th preseason ranking....it's USC. Past history says they better be in the top ten or they have a slim chance of playing for the national title.
I hate hearing about Gator football and how it started in 1996. That's all I ever hear!! Being in Florida you must of heard the same quotes.
"SEC speed or Speed kills"
"Best players are down south"
"Nothing like southern football"
"Tebow is god"...or the occasional superman reference
I always reply, "Thank the northern coaches, they are doing a wonderful job".
Urban Meyer (northern coach)
Les Miles (northern coach)
Nick Saban (northern coach)
Go Blue!!
Since I live in Florida I have to hear about the Gators all the time. Elam and Meyer are close, Meyer has been talking to this kid for years. From what I hear they have a great relationship, and Elam doesn't want to play for anyone else.
Big Ten best in bowls in 2010?
Beat #7 Oregon (Pac Ten)
Beat #13 LSU (SEC)
Beat #14 Miami (ACC)
Maybe #9 Georgia Tech (ACC) Early still!!
Close Iowa State loss (1 pt), Auburn loss (3 pts) and Texas Tech loss. Not bad, pretty impressed with this overall bowl season.
Love the opportunity to shut up some SEC fans down here in Florida.
Go Blue!!
Weis was dealt a nice hand when he arrived at Notre Dame. He did a great job recruiting, only based on the fact that he was an NFL man.
No bowl games!! You don't think that those recruiting classes had anything to do with the 9-3 and 10-3 seasons before the 3-9 campaign. I have a feeling it does.
RR hasn't had a 9-3 season or a 10 win season at Michigan yet. He has gone 8-16 in two years with no talent to run his schemes until 2009. Now he sits with a top ten class!! If you ask me that is pretty amazing. If you want to put Notre Dame in there go a head, but 7-6 isn't considered a losing season the last time I checked. Nice facts!!
RR has Michigan in the top 12 in recruiting this season, plus 14th last season. With 3 more recruits we are probably in the top 10. Michigan has 8 wins in two years, name another program that could be recruiting in the top 15 with that record. Come on man, what a joke.
Give me a break, then you join the Spartan cause!!
Hail!
The problem with Pryor isn't the fact that he went to OSU. Instead the issue with him is that he can't throw the ball with any type of consistency. He throws three passes
a) screen
b) 5-8 yard "out route"
c) occasional deep ball "streak or go route"
That's all he can throw, yes he is 19-4 but the main reason for that is the play calling of Tressel. Tressel keeps the play calling at a minimum for these resasons. He can't step up in the pocket and please let me know what he threw the ball over the middle at any point this season. He can't read any type of defense, no matter what you say he has been less than a stud since he started playing two years ago. If he can learn to read a defense and step up in the pocket then any team playing OSU in the future will have issues.
Watching Tate take Michigan down the field vs. MSU. He was worn out at that point, could barely get a grasp of what was happening. Tate to Roundtree...sums up the season.
How is losing Johnson going to help out the team. He leads the team in receptions and is stud on the field. Losing him and filling 1 hole on defense doesn't seem like the answer. We have more issues than just DT or DE.
How about an offensive line please?!
I would take as many trips to Tennessee
I would fly out to Texas, USC and Florida
I would take visits to night games at LSU, Miami, Georgia
Piss on Notre Dame, and the dome
Visit Oregon to see what jerseys they wear
Come back in time for the Michigan vs. Ohio State game...
Make my annoucement after the game that I will be attending Michigan in the fall.
Hypothetically!!
It's all about the "U"....seems pretty fun, might end up in jail though.
Stop at 12 teams!! We have the tradition, don't look desperate. Gamedays, fight songs, "HAIL TO THE VICTORS", Recruting, The Big House, Winged Helmets.....why make college football like Sunday's?
Go big in this new conference, make it tough and competitive! Look at all aspects: money, academics, rivalries and come up with the best options. Therefore we should look at a 14 team league, but don't add ACC schools just to fill the conference.
West:
Minnesota
Iowa
Wisconsin
Missouri***
Illinois
Notre Dame***
Northwestern
East:
Michigan
Michigan State
Purdue
Indiana
Ohio State
Penn State
Pittsburgh***
Notre Dame, Purdue and Indiana are in a line, but put Notre Dame in West to make the west tougher.
Are you kidding me...these divisions are horrible.
Northwestern
Iowa
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Illinois
Purdue
Michigan
MSU
OSU
PSU
Indiana
??? Notre Dame, Pitt, Rutgers, or who ever else.
Come on, I like the idea of a championship game but a rematch of week 2 in the big ten (Wisconsin vs. Michigan) or whatever else.

Sorry if someone already posted.....Go Blue!
That was horrible!! talk about being scared and nervous.....probably the worst pitch I have ever seen.....Thomas could lose this for Oregon. Wow!!
Oregon will cause 3 turnovers (2 of which will be on Newton).
Lay off to much for Cam and his teammates....bad start for Auburn.
Oregon outscores Auburn 17-3 in 4th quarter
Final score:
Auburn 24
Oregon 38 F

to be a Wolverine.....OSU in trouble and we finally have a verbal committment from a solid Kicker. Wow. Go Blue!!
If you need anyone else for your dynasty let me know, flying back could set up on Thursday.
