2 years 26 weeks ago	Agreed, I never missed a game and always	was able to either make it to AA or settle in on TV, until the kids were old enough to have to do stuff; Soccer, Football, Skating, Swimming, etc. Thank Bo for the DVR. Other than having to be a tool who runs around saying "don't tell me, don't tell me," I now get to see every play again. No more speeding tickets rushing home for kickoff. Every play? That's probably why I signed up here.
2 years 27 weeks ago	Kovacs	4 years ago Kovacs is on the cover of SI and a feel good story on how the walk on beat out all the 4-5 star talent to earn a starting spot. Screenwriters are envisioning a feel good movie about a good guy who actually plays in real games, not some South Bend DB on the practice squad. Today, he's doing his best, but is an example of the lack of depth and barely gets any press outside of MI.
2 years 27 weeks ago	This year, I'll be surprised.	Performing giddy cartwheel to keg stands and looking for a sparty neighbor's porch sofa. The combination of talent and scheme on the defense have me concerned and not anticipating great things.
2 years 27 weeks ago	In good years, making the Motor City Bowl	is irrelevant. If there are talented Juniors and Seniors returning who know what it takes to win the the Big 10, the extra practice and game experience are not needed. Teams trying to find an identity or, god forbid, rebuilding are different. This team is young and needs the repetition, coaching, extra practice time, and game experience the bowl bid provides. Recruiting needs the additional exposure and good press of playing in December/January. This team needs the work. With the NCAA reductions in scholarships for football, parity is what's discussed. Parity also means former powerhouse programs take longer to reload when they hit a rough spot. ND is entering their second decade of mediocre, the extra time provided by a bowl bid allows borderline players to elevate and refines stars for the following year. Let's let continue to suck and change this. I'm happy to hear you found the the win versus ND mildly satisfying. Personally, I've found UM not winning one against MSU, Purdue or Illinois sucked the joy out of the domer W. Winning Saturday changes everything, but I'm tempering my expecatations given the defense has allowed big plays to every team but DSU this year.

2 years 27 weeks ago	RR may also be trying to keep	Denard happy. All this talk about slot receive and wildcat packages may not match his dreams of being the QB. RR gives him a start and he's placated, Tate's pissed. Man, I hope this is all it is.

Whether tied to RichRod's struggles and the debacle of the coach search or stiff-arming the student security asking for his pass, I view the retirement announcement as opportunity for having an AD to view the football program without emotional baggage.
2 years 27 weeks ago	I'm not so sure on a couple more years.	I don't care for RichRod and won't shed any tears when his time in Ann Arbor runs out. That said, I'm not rooting against him as long as he's on the UM sidelines. Martin resigning/retiring for whatever reason is the first step to make this right. The atheltic department set up a mandatory re-building process by allowing Lloyd to announce his retirement mid-season, scaring off recruits, and the coaching search process or the "we have Les Miles" parade was a farce. The only highlights of the coach search were the private plane speculations on this site re willow run. Get a Michigan man in place as AD immediately to audit this program. Take advantage of Martin's fall and have a new eye review talent, results, expectations, and how/what RichRod says about his players to the press and how he represents the university. If at any time the result is a failing grade, it's time for his departure. There should be no guaranteed amount of time to stay a firing. When the axe finally falls, I want to see the focus on a long term solution rather than a "name" to placate alumni and fans.
