Losing your job totally sucks, and if you've got a family - and worst of all, you're the sole wage earner - the anxiety can really take you down.

AMC was the importer of the Renault Alliance. They were pretty much the most pathetic automotive OEM in history.

2019 for the Ranger, I believe; according to the announcement Ford made at the NAIAS in January.

"I'm gettin' laid in this baby!"
- No one ever
Yep, I owned one. As to the other question, "nope."

I compounded the problem by later buying a Windstar when my wife and I started having children. It was a lovely two-tone of Ready For Retirement Gold and Metallic Pea.

He was in a single-person cell; and according to the reports this morning, he had evidently tried to block the door from the inside using items available within the room.

Our military capability needs a major upgrade (even the newest planes not called "Raptor" or "Super Hornet" are 25+ years old). But a trillion-dollar price tag on ANY aircraft is absurd. Lobbyists, indeed.

I'd make a comment about broken clocks, etc. But the Buckeyes deserve a sincere tip of the hat for that gesture. It WAS damn cool.
|1 week 6 days ago||TRU doesn't have to be doomed||
But they are. They think they exist to sell toys on the cheap. But they *should* be in the business of delighting children of any age. That was the essence of the TRU jingle and advertising campaign - they got away from it (and probably never understood its real meaning and why it resonated with the consumer).
And that attitude fits DB to a tee.
|1 week 6 days ago||How successful?||
Mixed. The most successful start with a broader vision for the company, its values, and what distinguishes its place in the market. From there, the strategy for physical stores, the web, and other, so-called "Omni-channel" distribution models follows as a cohesive, integrated whole.
Unfortunately, most retailers are too focused on what Amazon is *doing* (drones, etc.), and trying to duplicate it without a compelling reason why they should.
|1 week 6 days ago||Winner, winner||
"The Amazon Effect" is a real phenomenon. What is occurring at Toys R Us mirrors that of traditional, bricks-and-mortar, U.S. retailers more generally. Macy's, Kohls, Target, and others are seeing YOY declines in sales - while the National Retail Federation is reporting banner increases in overall revenues for retailers.
What DB *should* be doing right now is developing a new vision for the company to create in-store traffic and sales. Instead, the dull, uninspired interiors of the stores reflect the staid nature of the broader business model. What, at the end of the day, has really changed about the company since the 1970s?
Unfortunately for the company, its shareholders, and employees, DB is precisely the last guy you'd want to have at the helm if you were trying to inspire a shared vision and optimism for the future.

Jeff Bezos has himself said, "Our goal with Amazon Prime, make no mistake, is to make sure that if you're not a member, you are being irresponsible."
Amazon Prime has, give or take, 66 million members, and growing. The peak for Thursday Night Football, in December 2016, was about 18 million viewers. For most of the season, it was much less. Clearly, Amazon paid the $55M to the NFL because they want to entice football fans to become Prime members; however, their current subscriber base already eclipses NFL viewership.
So, it's a win for both the NFL and Amazon. At $55M, Bezos probably saw it as a fairly cheap way to get it.

There is not, nor should there be, a "mandatory retirement age" for coaches. Coaches aren't doctors, or pilots, or any other profession where the aging process and its effects create a personal safety issue for others.
However, that doesn't mean the age of a coach is a non-issue altogether. Affixing the label "legendary" carries with it certain responsibilities to maintaining the dignity of both the coach and the program. If Red's not ready to hang up his skates, others need to make it for him, as painful as it may be.
It's called being a "leader;" Warde Manuel needs to step up and be one.

My son wants to be a Cougar, so we will be visiting the campus. Also visiting an MGoFriend and his family in the Clear Lake area. Our best spring breaks have always been in Texas.
A couple of years ago, we headed out to Fredericksburg and Hill Country with those same friends. It was beautiful, relaxing, and peaceful. Like a whole other country.

I'm sure that you'll want to spend plenty of time alone with your daughters. But if there's one thing that I know with absolute conviction, is that your daughters should see how much we all loved your mom because we all love Michigan. And Mrs. Cali Wolverine was Michigan through and through.
God speed to you, your wife, and your daughters.

He insinuates that taxpayers are on the hook for the expenses of the Dept of Athletics, and by extension, the football program and its head coach.
That is wrong, and he would have known that had he done just a little bit of digging (it wouldn't take much - there's that useful new tool called "Google" now; maybe he's heard of it).

As for the round or two, that's just what I'd be buying him....

A few seasons ago, the starting rotation sucked; the next season, the bullpen sucked. Then, they fix pitching, only to see the bats go completely silent.
It feels like it's been an awfully long time since the entire team played like a contender in all phases of the game.
