Consider all of the things that had to be overlooked by teams:
- Bad shoulder injury last season
Those are just off the top of my head, but that's a lot of question marks on and off the field.

I know a woman - a MSU graduate - who had a less than cordial encounter with Cook before he was ever the starter. She didn't tell me the story; but her father, who is a dyed in the wool Spartan fan, did. He said he would never cheer for Connor Cook as long as he lived. I've known that family for 25 years. For him to say that is astonishing, and seemed to corroborate all of the negative publicity around Cook during the draft.

I think "Oakland still in play" finally gets replaced by "Cook still available."

Brian, I think it was you who suggested at one point that colleges and universities should develop bona fide degree programs in sports performance for athletes. As I recall, there was quite a debate on this site about whether it would be analogous to degree programs in music performance, theater, etc.; and the merits of such a program in view of the future ability of graduates to earn a living in the real world.
I wasn't in support of the idea; but upon further review, I now believe that it shouldn't be out of the question. We don't prohibit, for example, a voice or drama major from earning money on the side playing gigs, teaching private lessons, etc. We don't suggest that a student in one of those degree programs is less an "amateur" for earning money by those means - why shouldn't we feel the same way about athletes?
The obvious argument against pursuing and/or earning a degree in "Football Performance" (or basketball, baseball, hockey, etc.) is that the vast majority of athletes pursuing that degree will never make it to the pros. Likewise, with the average pro career in football just 2.6 years in length, we could be dooming many athletes to lives spent in homeless shelters.
But those are pretty well the same odds as students who pursue degrees in theater, music, etc. Very few graduates end up with careers in those professions. And many who do are practically required to pursue advanced degrees just to be competitive.
The more I think about it, the more it makes sense.

It'll be a pick that no one saw coming; mostly because not too many people will understand the logic behind it.

Stop being greedy. This is the Lions were talking about, okay?

Rick always looks like he smoked a bowl before filming an episode of his series on PBS. But that doesn't take anything away from Frontera or Topo. They're awesome.

But the job requires a gender-neutral Wolverine. So, she's qualified.
Congratulations to her and very well done! I will look forward to seeing her lead the MMB out onto the field.

I really like hanging with you guys and when I walked into the meeting I was totes going to do what you'd all told me was what all the cool kids were doing these days. Boy, was I surprised that it turns out our conference was not as cool I thought (you guys should really get out more).
Anyway, these other guys were ganging up on me and I didn't want them to steal my lunch money, so after careful consideration, I did what they told me to do.
Please don't hurt me when you see me at the bus stop.

I had used the Gillette Fusion razor for years but got tired of paying a tidy ransom for the cartridges. I decided that my investment in the DSC's "Executive" (6 primary blades plus 1 trimmer) was reasonably close and half the price.
So far, I haven't noticed any issues with the blades, except that the point about shavings getting stuck between the blades is right on. I also kind of miss the swivelling head of the Fusion, but that's not worth double the price of the DSC.
I've also tried the shave butter and hair styling gel. Both are pretty good products - I'm totally sold on shave butter instead of cream, and I won't go back except in an emergency.

My favorite summer car was the 1984 red Ford Mustang convertible that was loaned to me as a part of my high school graduation gift in 1986. It was so much fun being young feeling like I had the world by the ass.
Sure, there are far better cars. But that one will always be my sentimental favorite.

Many of the comments made by other coaches, ADs, Finebaum, the lack of support by Delaney, etc., make me think that this ban WILL stand. Harbaugh upset the perceived Natural Order of Things. He's a disrupter, an interloper, and if there's anything comfortable people can't stand, it's someone moving their cheese.
So, the ban will be upheld in a futile attempt to get Harbaugh trained like a good lap dog. It will work about as well as we all know it will.

|2 weeks 6 days ago||Massive Harbaugh recruiting tool||
There are so many paths that Harbaugh can take this ...
- "Look, we WANT you to evaluate as many opportunities as possible; because we know that you'll see what makes Michigan different."
- "While some coaches in the SEC don't want to work very hard, those programs that are most successful know that the highest levels of success comes from outworking everybody."
- "How hard do you think you'll have to work to make it to the NFL? Our staff has is made up of former NFL coaches; you'll be ready for Sundays because you'll have outworked everyone else."
- "Certain coaches in our own conference aren't interested in putting in the time and effort to even recruit players who can make a difference; how do you think that translates onto the field? Their recent results speak for themselves."

This editorial reminded me of the wandering opinion given by the judge in the original "Miracle on 34th Street" movie ...
"There are some who believe in Santa Claus; many do not."

They'd probably heard a rumor that Harbaugh had used Big Data and the Internet of Things. The SEC didn't know what those words meant.

|3 weeks 3 days ago||Premeditation||
Is not necessary to indict for first degree murder in Lousiana; only requirement is "specific intent." The shooter struck Smith six times and his wife twice. That could be enough to show intent to kill.

I'm using a logical fallacy to demonstrate one.

You have statistics that show the likelihood of gun violence increases if the shooter is a NRA member? Because I've never seen them, in the same way that I've never seen statistics that show a pickup truck owner is more likely to experience road rage.
