Only one way to solve this. Bring the bbq to New Jersey, Clippers style. Is it a violation if Jay Harbaugh camps out at the Gary House until Signing Day?
|8 hours 24 min ago||The NFL has made a huge||
The NFL has made a huge mistake by making this about Brady not cooperating by giving his cell, vs the actions of cheating. I can't understand why the pundits don't realize how much stronger that makes his case. According to the NFLs interpretation of the CBA, he's required to hand over personal property to his employer when an investigation is ongoing. This is the same as the NFL suspending Brady for not allowing NFL investigators to search his car or house (which I think everyone would side with Brady is overreaching). But if he's not guilty, then why not let them go through your house Tom? Look at your bank records Tom? Where is the line? If your employer asked for your cellphone, would you give it? Probably not. What if they then punished you for that? You'd sue them.

The question is, where is the line drawn. The media are so quick to assign blame to Brady for not giving his cell phone records, but what if the NFL had demanded to search his home or his car? Would people think he's guilty if he said no? According to the NFL, they have the right to suspend him because he won't let them search his phone, but the same logic applies, they could have suspended him if he didn't let them search his home too. It's just that the media wouldn't have been as pro-NFL if they'd asked Brady to search his home and Brady said no.

The phone destruction doesn't really matter. The phone was used between Nov 2014 and March 2015 (or somewhere around there). The key date isn't the day it was destroyed, it's when he started using the phone. The texts the nfl's whole case is based on are from October 2014. There's a good chance, the texts they want were destroyed in November 2014. That's how far Brady went to cover this up. He went back in time and destroyed his old phone BEFORE he got the new phone he destroyed in March. That's a good coverup.

Nice thing about this outcome for Brady is that he has very little to lose by challenging this in court. Goodell is practically begging him to do it. The question is, will the players decide to fight this issue more vigerously in the next CBA, or will going to court become the accepted route of appeal.

I've never understood retiring football numbers. The players with retired jerseys are great, but what about players like Woodson who aren't retired? There's too many players to retire jerseys and even though it's reserved for once in a generation players, when you have 136 years to pick from, that's a lot of generations. Plus, it's not like Michigan is going anywhere.

I don't see Nebraska leaving the B1G to go back to the Big12 at this point. Any team joining the Big 12 has to overlook the tilted field towards Texas and the Longhorn network. Also, IIRC, they don't have any TV network outside that, so Nebraska would be turning down guaranteed B1G network money to be second class to Texas in the league. The Big 12 will have to poach from the smaller conferences for sure.

No matter how you view the Rich Rod years, I think everyone can agree this was a highlight and one of the best stories in Michigan football history.

It's too bad he was surprised and even bummed out that he had to "tryout" for the new coaches, but that's life. That said, I can understand the sentiment that he probably saw the writing on the wall, knowing that he wasn't going to make it, and I can also sympathize that he would have been in better shape if the coaches did have a history of seeing him in practice for four years. That said, I'm sure harbaugh looks at every day as a tryout, for everyone. That's part of his nature. The specific 5th years have to tryout is probably only going to be for this year. Next year, I'd imagine guys won't even get the chance to tryout. The decision will already have been made.

old shea: WTF? a ballpark that overlooks a parking lot. orange railings in your way everywhere and if that's not bad enough, planes fly over all the time.
new shea: really? still in the flight plan, gimmicky outfield, just not what it should have been for the money.
old yankee stadium: this place wasn't that great, unless you're a yankees fan. maybe the new stadium is better.

On the team websites, they list the 5 players to watch for each team. For Japan, one is a 46 year old defensive lineman. Hard not to root for a 250 pound 46 year old DL.

He said few players make it to the NFL, not no one makes it to the NFL. If you're going to the schools you listed, you're almost certainly not going to the NFL. You go to Michigan, Stanford, USC, ND, you have as good of a shot at making the NFL as anywhere AND you get an education that takes care of you if you don't.

No more cte means healthier former players. As a fan it's hard not to like that players (especially college kids) may have some treatment someday that helps mitigate the long term brain damage they might face from playing the sport we're obsessed with watching.

If he can't win the job and he leaves, best of luck to him. But I think he stays even if he doesn't start. With any luck, there will be plenty of garbage time this year for him to play if he's the backup because Harbaugh.

The marshmallows were awesome, but some people went too far (ie. coins in the marshmallows), and they would eventually glomm together into a disgusting mush, but they were soft and when there are hundreds of marshmallows flying around the student section, it looks pretty amazing. It's hard to not get fired up at a Michigan game, but the marshmallows made it even crazier. Plus, I think this might have been popular beyond Michigan.
|1 week 6 days ago||I think Rudock will probably||
I think Rudock will probably come into camp and win the starting QB job, but hopefully Morris makes it a good fight. Ultimately, Morris doesn't have to start this year. He's only a junior and he might benefit from being a backup. Regardless, I think he has a great year next year.

A lot of the hatred from Michigan fans comes from an old incident where he plagiarized a popular Michigan blog and then whined when they called him out on it and acted like he had done nothing wrong.

To be fair, both ESPN and the weather channel have strong online presences. I'm not sure how much that dampens their loss of subscribers, but if weather.com is putting the weather channel out of business, then they're still making money. ESPN.com is probably making a lot of money for ESPN. It's the TV providers getting squeezed, and no one feels bad for them.
