Unless we're projecting Rudock to repeat his last week's performance (I'm assuming regression to the mean rather than repeating his career best), the line seems about right. They'll get some yards and points throwing at the non-Lewis/Peppers people.
I'm surprised that no team has tried to attack us yet by sending receivers vertical against Lewis and Peppers all day long to get them away from the play while trying to attack everyone else underneath. That seems like the best chance to score on our defense.

1-2 days a week during football season, probably only a single drink per week the rest of the year. I'll split a pitcher with a friend at the alumni club gatherings to watch the football games, but for me I've just found I prefer to stay away from any amount that gets me really buzzed or drunk. Too many fun things to do outdoors to be struggling with a hangover.

Aside from the fact that it's early and doesn't matter, the Alabama position doesn't bother me. They beat Georgia when Nick Chubb was still healthy, he's probably the second best RB in the country and he made that an entirely different Georgia team. They put up 29 first downs to Ole Miss' 16, but it was just one of those games where everything (namely the 5 turnovers) went against them. They beat that Ole Miss team 4 times out of 5 if not more, and the committee is tasked with selecting the best teams, I doubt many people would pick Ole Miss straight-up against Alabama in a neutral site game. It's still a judgment call, but hardly what I'd call a nonsensical one.
It won't matter though, things will sort themselves out by season's end.

I think they're a much better team with Barrett at the helm, he looked like he was finally back to his A+ self last weekend.
Not to mention the team voted Barrett captain, so I can't imagine this causing any dissension.

No blame or anger at all towards the players. Shit happens.
That said, I have some 'friends' who really like to show their asshole side when MSU wins and they were certainly sending me messages en masse tonight. When UM wins I don't send them anything because I didn't have anything to do with the win. I'm more pissed at some of them than anything that happened in the game.

I've got a 2011 Chevy Silverado LT Extended cab, standard box, 4wd, 5.3L V8, towing package and chrome step bars that I installed.
It's been a great vehicle for me and with the 5.3 liter my lifetime mileage is hovering right around 20 mpg.

Mathematically it seems almost certain that there must be some other life out there, but I tend to think that intelligent / advanced life that can build and use technology must be rare. Heck Earth has had life on it for over 3.5 billion years, but our species has only been around for a few million and has only developed technology in the last few thousand (depending on how you want to define technology). If our planet with such perfect conditions for life took that long to accidentally produce a form of highly intelligent life that might mean we are in fact pretty rare.
If advanced life taht was able to travel to other solar systems or galaxies exists, why wouldn't they have colonized all the good spots already? So no, I doubt we've been visited by aliens.

Eh, it doesn't bother me whether Harbaugh is constantly out there promoting himself and the University in LOUD TWEETS or if he locks himself in a film room and never gets on the internet.
But let's be honest, we're sports fans, if Harbaugh never posted stuff on social media we'd claim that it's a good thing because he's authentic and doesn't care about any of that marketing BS while he's off working hard somewhere. If he does post a ton on social media we claim it's great because he's being authentic and getting the Michigan brand out there. We've made fun of lots of other coaches over the years for their use of social media that seems an awful lot like what Harbaugh has been doing.
TLDR; We're sports fans, so whatever our guy is doing is right, and whatever the other team's guy is doing is wrong.

Ditto on the satellite camps. If the B1G had a rule against them and SEC schools were using them we'd be complaining. If a coach at any other school was doing the things Harbaugh has been doing we'd be talking about him as a crazy fool but since he's our crazy fool it's awesome and everyone else is just nervous/jealous.
We're no different than any of the other schools. Win and we're willing to look the other way on a lot of shady stuff.
Edited to add: I don't think that's a good thing, if we start giving some of these committed kids the cold shoulder I won't feel right about it, but I don't think the fanbase as a whole will care a bit if the wins come.

I watched that side-by-side earlier today too.
While I know that you can't compare times because the surfaces are different everyday and sometimes you just race to win, the fact that Secretariat still holds the all-time records at ALL THREE triple crown races makes him the Greatest of All Time. Watching that 1973 Belmont has to be one of the greatest athletic performances ever and like one of the previous posters I literally tear up watching it.

Roth for your retirement.
Don't fund your kids college education from your retirement accounts. If they get to college-age and you find you're short for their dream school start looking at cheaper schools or community college for the first year or two and have them work while in school. Again, do not use your retirement accounts to fund your child's college expenses.

Count me in with the people who don't have a problem with it. It's a reward for the players, many of whom come from poor backgrounds and wouldn't otherwise get a chance to travel to some of these places. I do however think those bowl games should have to guarantee a minimum level of compensation/profit to the schools. If a bunch of sponsors for a bowl game want to lose money that's their choice, but schools shouldn't have to lose money to attend a game.
If we're really going to stand behind the principle of bowl games meaning something important we might as well go back to the days when only one B1G team could go to a bowl game but I doubt anyone here would want that either.

I think you've got a tough sell, and like some others have mentioned, if you have to convince / sell her on the idea I think it's already doomed to failure. Even moreso once kids come, most women tend to want to be near their family when that stage of live comes.
If you don't currently like your job in a small government field I assume the new job would be similar? So if you don't like it now what makes you think you'll like something similar for less pay just because it's in Michigan? Sounds more like a jobs issue.
I spent my first 23 years in Michigan but other than visits to the family I don't miss it. If you like snow move somewhere you can enjoy it like the mountains. If you like sun and warmth or the beach, move somewhere you can enjoy those more than 3 months a year.
I get that we all develop our own ideas of what 'home' should look like by growing up somewhere but I just honestly don't think someone without those previously developed attachments would choose Michigan if they could choose anywhere in the country. it's not a bad place, but it's just not the end-all, be-all of locations in the entire US. Of course I speak that as someone who can live anywhere and spends winters in Florida and summers in the rocky mountains so I'm way on the far extreme of location flexibility and I realize not everyone gets to just go anywhere they want.
|48 weeks 2 days ago||It's just so hard to||
It's just so hard to predict. You look at a team like Texas and many assumed they'd make a leap because 'obviously they have so much talent and Mack Brown just fostered a country club culture' (sound familiar?) but they struggled to go 6-6 this year under a new energetic coach in Charlie Strong.
I'm trying to keep my expectations tempered, if he can get Morris or Speight to be an average game-manager type QB and the team goes 8-4 next year I'll consider that a success.
|49 weeks 3 days ago||I don't know that he's set up||
I don't know that he's set up for failure but I do worry that people are expecting him to turn Michigan into Alabama 2.0 and he won't be able to get the program to that level.
I think Jim is a good coach, but other than Toby Gerhart and Andrew Luck I couldn't name a single other player he developed or coached in college and Kapernick has regressed in his time with Harbaugh. How much of those (positive or negative) are attributable to Harbaugh and how much are attributable to the indivual players we can never know. That said, I still hope he ends up here so we can find out if he's as good as we've built him up to be in our minds.
|50 weeks 6 days ago||Is anyone else a little||
Is anyone else a little worried that even if we do land Harbaugh, it'll only be for a few years before he flees to the pros again? This doesn't seem like a Saban situation where he decides he's not cut out for the NFL, it sounds like Harbaugh still has quite a bit of interest in the leage.
Now if he comes here and puts Michigan back on top in two years before leaving I'll gladly enjoy the ride and the wins, but I can't help but thinking he's going to end up in the pros again at some point.

As we've seen this year, so much depends on QB play and I haven't seen anything out of Shane yet to think that he's capable of leading the team to a quick turn around. Of course he's also been getting the same coaching that's caused Gardner to regress so maybe a new coach would provide what he needs to be a decent-to-good starter next year.

Optimistic me: Hoping we get the Devin Gardner "If the first read isn't open take off!" offense we saw on his TD drive last week. 38-31 good guys.

No kidding they support him. His short-term focus on profits by gouging of football fans is what allows them to have shiny new multi-million dollar facilities.

Eh, there are plenty of kids in non-revenue sports who work harder than anyone on the football team at their chosen sport, study more difficult majors and yet don't expect 110,000 people to show up every weekend and clap for the hard work they've put in.
It's apparent the entitlement mentality that so many claim Michigan fans had is not limited to the fans.
|1 year 10 weeks ago||As Timmmay stated, this||
As Timmmay stated, this wasn't about whehter the FOIA was a fishing expedition or not, this was pointing out that the University of Michigan charges significantly more for the exact same request than many other Universities do.
This is something UM has repeatedly done. Here's a Daily article about a similar situation from several years ago. http://www.michigandaily.com/news/special-report-university-michigan-cha...
|1 year 10 weeks ago||I'm assuming here that they||
I'm assuming here that they sent the same FOIA request to all the other schools on this list, many of which provided the information for free. If they sent a huge broad request to Michigan and a specific tiny one to the other schools that might justify the price discrepancy, but I doubt that was "likely" what happened.

Hard to get too upset about this. The reality is that it's typically an exciting game.... followed by both teams stumbling their way to mediocre records.
Sure there have been some outlier seasons here and there but recently this game has meant the difference between 8-4 or 7-5 for the winner, not the difference between having a national title shot or otherwise. I think between Kelly & Hoke they can build programs that will be able to compete for national championships, but over the last decade or so this rivalry hasn't meant much in the national picture.

My parents (both age 61 now) were able to completely pay for bachelors degrees at MSU just from their summer jobs (waitres and farm hand) and there's no way students today can do that.
I don't know the solution but it's clear that the equivalent inflation adjusted college degree was much more affordable 30-40 years ago than it is today and that's putting many young people in a difficult situation when they try to start out their lives. I've been fortunate enough to find a good career and have all my student loans paid off now but I know classmates who are still struggling.
