8 weeks 1 day ago	Torn	Like the board I'm torn. As a student I think I would have loved this -- sitting with 50 empty rows below you 15 mins to kickoff watching the band was always pretty depressing. However I wouldn't be pleased to have missed the noon games for a 3:30 kickoff. Also getting booted from the stadium after waiting in line for 2 hours for sneaking in airplane bottles would have been a part of my life.

This is a college football blog so I'll put my opinions on a more appropriate foum.  Don't undersestimate the news of the next few days though folks. For example: TomVH used to (maybe still does) run a recruiting website and contacted recruits with questions about their interest in Mich. I could see how one could argue that he's using his (for profit?) website in order to benefit Michigan.

Throw 3-5 extra defenders out there and you risk the offense taking notice and spiking the ball, chewing little time and giving them 5 free yards and the down back.  FYI Smart Football did a piece on this last year. For those of you who may question whether this was "intentional" or not, Defenses actually have this in their playbook: http://smartfootball.com/defense/buddy-ryans-polish-goalline-tactic I hope the NFL takes a look at this in the offseason and gives the offense the time back in scnearios after the 2:00 warning.

If you ask me PSU made a calculated decision to hire outside of the program.   Their alumni base needs to wise up and back O'Brien quick. Quotes like these will lead to a sharp decine for PSU:   "I will put my Butkus (Award) in storage. I will put my Alamo Bowl MVP trophy in storage," (LaVar) Arrington said. "Jerseys, anything Penn State, in storage. Wherever [interim coach] Tom Bradley goes, that's the school I will start to put memorabilia up in my home. I'm done. I'm done with Penn State.
