First off, this is an epic…

First off, this is an epic takedown Bo Harbaugh...really strikes to the point of what troll posters try to do as they infiltrate the community and claim "libertarian values" and free speech to peddle their veiled racism. Well done.

Been avoiding this site like the plague since Covid came around, no pun intended (was just too toxic).  Checked in a few times to see some sports updates and was shocked to see how political things had gotten.

More depressing, it has been really disturbing to read some of the "soft" racism and conspiracy theory garbage you see on those loonie reddit and Alex Jones type outlets.

Reading through past comments, this JPC you call out is indeed race baiting and is a trash poster.

For the record, if anyone wants to question my politics as motive, I'm a white, mid 40s, lifelong republican (not a Trump supporter, however), who clearly sees what posters like JPC are up to.  Stop with the garbage.  This isn't a political board and definitely isn't a place for incendiary commentary.

And Urban Meyer had bible…

And Urban Meyer had bible studies with Aaron Hernandez....

Winning with character and principle.

Hawt Take! : This team sucks…

Hawt Take! : This team sucks!  Almost lost their 2nd game in a row, fergodsakes!  They must  not be as good as their lucky record.

Rational Observation: Team hits a mid season funk where they aren't shooting well or playing their best basketball of the season. Best to peak in March like most Beilein teams seem to do.

Bosa was a clear #1 before…

Bosa was a clear #1 before his injury...interesting to see they dont think it will have a lingering effect as there was some article suggesting that his technique made him vulnerable to this sort of injury.

Gary is worthy of a top 10 pick, not #2 IMO

In politics they say "it's…

In politics they say "it's the economy stupid"

In college basketball we can narrow it down the same way.

"It's the point guard stupid"

Almost every elite team, especially those making deep runs in March have great point guard play.

Beilein is the obvious MVP every year in how he develops players, but if we look at just the players, it's the PG.

YES!  UNACCEPTABLE!  I…

YES!  UNACCEPTABLE!  I BOUGHT UM GEAR FOR CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR!  I AM ENTITLED TO BETTER BECAUSE I SPENT $250.  HOW DARE HE NOT FIRE EVERYONE NOW!

HARBAUGH OVERRATED, UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!

The top 5 coach that took a…

The top 5 coach that took a moribund SF franchise to 3 straight NFC championship games and within 1 play of winning the Super Bowl.

When on an even playing field (NFL salary cap) he is a top coach.  Unfortunately, the SEC and OSU don't have salary caps.  When UM is consistently putting in the league as man players as Bama,  OSU, USC, UGA, LSU - then call him underachieving, or not a great coach.

BTW...How many national titles did Urban Meyer win at OSU, despite the 10000-4 record over his tenure??? 1

Losing to Purdue, Iowa, MSU and not getting to the playoff.  Getting his doors blown off by Clemson in the playoff semifinal.  Yeah...you want to see overrated - take a look at a guy with a decided talent advantage (due to questionable to no ethics at a football factory), with the second most players in the NFL, and I'll show you a coach that underachieved.

Saban cheats and wins national titles.  Dabo cheats and gets to the playoff every year.  For all the Meyer is elite guys out there...Why was there not more success with so much talent?

And, lastly, for people who actually know...the NFL was never clamoring for Meyer.  We already saw what Saban was in the NFL.  UGA and Clemson are Bama lite...fuck school, fuck the rules.

Let Harbaugh recruit and run his program that way, and we will be right there with the other "college" football programs.

Unfortunately, for all you detractors, Jim came to Michigan and still "plays school"

I'M SO PISSED AND INSULTED! …

I'M SO PISSED AND INSULTED!  WE DESERVE BETTER, THE PLAYERS DESERVE BETTER! HARBAUGH IS THE MOST OVERRATED COACH IN THE HISTORY OF COACHING OF ANY SPORT AND I AM ENTITLED TO WINS...SO MANY MORE WINS THAN THE UNPREPARED, POORLY COACHED OUT-SCHEMED GARBAGE I AM WATCHING EVERY WEEK!

AS A FAN I DEMAND BETTER AND EXPECT CHAMPIONSHIPS.  HARBAUGH IS PAID TO BE AN ELITE COACH AND IS A LOSER IN ALL BIG GAMES.  FIRE HIM, NEXT MAN UP.  I AM INSULTED, SLAP IN THE FACE, UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!

Did I do that right?  Seriously, all you "why aren't we Bama or OSU yet schmucks" get a fucking grip and grow up.  Yeah, it sucks that it is taking longer than expected and shit, god forbid, maybe we don't get to elite status. UM is not a football factory, it never has been.  We will hopefully compete for the playoff (we have been 1 game short in 2 of Harbaugh's 4 seasons - after the dumpster fire that was the RR and Hoke years) and it seems we are a few players and schematic changes away from getting there.  The "unacceptable", "I feel insulted", entitled, recency bias, pitch fork, reactionary crowd need to find another fucking team or grow the fuck up. We all want better - as an alum, nothing would be more amazing than to attend a national title game.

And no, Harbaugh is not perfect and has plenty of flaws and the team was uninspired for that game and there is much improvement to be had and criticism is warranted.  But if you think anybody better is walking through the door to take the job, which does not allow for SEC win at all costs tactics (and with this delusional and entitled fanbase nonetheless) get a clue.  Harbaugh is the best thing for UM football and it means more to him to get them over the top than any of you vitriolic spewing morons.

If you wish to share tactical, coaching, schematic or talent critiques, I think this board is fair and open to it.  If you just want to spew UNACCEPTABLE, I AM ENTITLED TO MOAR WINS! - go fuck off.  You aren't entitled to shit.

At what point do the just…

At what point do the just get demoted to R*

Like, yeah, the are technically in the B1G, but we need to give them an asterisk

E.  You choose to live in a…

E.  You choose to live in a state of cognitive dissonance and denial because a coach won a lot of game for your beloved program.  It makes you unable to unbiasedly assess the character of a man who has plenty of skeletons in the closet.  It's not your fault, most people don't want to shit on things that bring them joy.  Your inability to look in the mirror, or in this case, the sense of identity you draw from OSU football in an honest way regarding Meyer is not uncommon.

May the rest of your life be so blessed (even if intellectually dishonest) and all your delusions reinforced into perpetuity.

No fine line to walk. You…

No fine line to walk. You are free to spew whatever delusion you need. Cognitive dissonance is your friend, enjoy.

Everyone outside CBUS knows this guy is a lying scumbag.  Yes, he covered up crimes at UF for years. Yes, Aaron Hernandez was one of the players he helped get off the hook multiple times (drug tests, misdemeanors, rumors of gun violence!) at UF.  Did Meyer murder anybody? - Pretty sure he didn't, but he enabled a crap ton of criminal activity at UF.  Yes, and, of course, the whole co-ed thing.  But everyone deserves a second chance...

And what did he do with his?  Continued to win at all costs. His redemption and atonement tour at OSU was a farce (Zach Smith, etc).  Hell of a coach, hell of a recruiter, shit human being who was still a win at all costs scumbag.

But hey, he won you a crap ton of games and a National title, so I can see why you'd defend him...and your efforts to convolute the narrative are well scripted by citing our own fanbase's hyperbole of what a piece of shit Meyer is and how morally bankrupt OSU is.

But when all the banter is silenced, and the smoke clears, the image and legacy of the man is all that remains, and no amount of mental gymnastic with which you choose to engage or spin the narrative will change the fact that all other fanbases, the media, and any minimally observant Homo Sapien sees through the charade.  And no, it's not because he is incredibly successful and won a lot...it's because he's a hypocritical dirtbag win at all costs morally bankrupt narcissist.

As stated earlier, I have…

As stated earlier, I have nothing left to sacrifice.  Can somebody give away (to a charity or hospital) some sort of UM or UM player memorabilia or paraphernalia that you treasure please?

The Michigan football gods need be fed!

Brian...pretty obvious what…

Brian...pretty obvious what you must do.

1) UFR the OSU game.  Fearless leader must indeed be fearless.

2) Shave the beard, cut the hair.

Be our martyr, be our savior.  The Game is but less than a year away.  It's time.

I guess OJ Simpson wasn't…

I guess OJ Simpson wasn't available

FYI...this was all fun and…

FYI...this was all fun and games and I am not superstitious at all.  I was convinced to donate the jersey earlier this year so it was going anyways.  My gf convinced me it had far more meaning on a wall or in a case somewhere kids could see it than in my basement framed on the wall, like a teenage boy would do.

Obviously, she is the better half of this couple.  That said, welcome home DAX!

Also, the team seemed so…

Also, the team seemed so happy and united after the MSU victory.  The video was joyous and the celebration was genuine.  I know the OSU loss was brutal, but I don't think it implies the culture in the locker room is broken.

It's really strange and…

It's really strange and frightening.  My hope is it's not some horrible MSU/ PSU / OSU cover shit up type crap.  For all the gripes about Harbaugh, not winning enough, etc, etc, we all at least thought things were being run the right way.

My best guess if something is screwed up in Schembechler Hall, it's that there was some favoritism or injured players' toughness was being questioned and they were being pushed to return early?

Other than that, my BPONE imagination does not want to go down a worse path.

If the kid goes OSU because…

If the kid goes OSU because we got destroyed for 62 by them this year, than so be it.  OSU was blown out by Purdue!  They were destroyed by Iowa last year.  Blowouts happen.  This was just shit timing and against the worst possible opponent.

Unfortunately, we've been on the wrong side of the coin flip games over the past 20 years against them, and the years where OSU was obviously better, they destroyed us. This year...I just don't know, was a tire fire from kickoff. It was just a snowball of being out coached .  Their Plan A worked, their adjustments to our Plan B were spot on.  Don Brown was simply out coached and while that is a rare event, it happened.

It happened last year as well against PSU where we had our doors  blown off by a generational talent (Barkley) in a with a wicked game plan.  If anything, Harrison should be excited at the prospect of early playing time with Winovich and Gary on to the next level - Both of whom were injured BTW, adding to our pass rushing woes in the game.

It just sucks that the Universe seems bent on shitting on us for the past two decades.  BPONE is strong here, and I can now empathize (never thought I'd say this) with how OSU fans must have felt during the 90's.

Burning Couches

Burning couches in the streets of East Lansing.  You can take that bet to the bank all day.

BWC

Have big Will Campbell become the force we all hope he can be.  There have been a couple plays this year where he stayed low, stuck with the fundamentals, and absolutely blew up the o-line man on the other side of the ball.  If BWC can become a more consistent force that eats up space MM can start dominating games.

Yes

If we were a national recruiting power like Sparty we might have a shot.

Nah

Nothing beats the old SWC

Brian wrong again

I was wrong about RR and so were you.

Michigan was soft the past three years because of RR's obsession with the spread and neglecting defense and special teams.

A good coach adapts to the talent on hand.  RR didn't, Hoke and Co. seem like they might.

Talking about being tough, smash mouth, and playing man ball does not imply run left strategy every play.  It implies not getting run over by 300 lbs Wisconsin meat machine.

Your logic is too binary, you can be tough and creative.  He will let Borges do his thing.

Variety is a nice thing to have.  If you can't bang it into the endzone you will put up ridiculous stats...500 yards a game, and have only 21 points to show for it.  Games are won inside the red zone, and if you can't pound it in, all the yards in the world dont mean much.

Like I posted last week

I posted this last week...

From two seperate sources

1) Friend who is a lawyer on the NCAA rules committe

2) Parent of a current OSU player (Parent is college buddy of my dad)

FBI and IRS are digging around because of the financial and drug dealing implications...

The scandal will include

Pay for play (with Tressel's knowledge)

Players selling drugs

Girls paid to sleep with recruits and players

Ten Ginn's dad getting paid for years to funnel recruits

Similar allegations on the basketball team

Vest = Honesty

I don't believe it.  He wears a sweater vest and looks like a nice stereotypical anglo American...no way he would do anything unethical.

Lying and cheating are reserved for the likes of the guys named Rodriguez.

Just like the Clarrett allegations were overblown (he ended up in jail simply by his own doing), and the Troy Smith stuff, and now the T. Pryor and co. stuff, etc, etc, etc...this does not at all indicate a trend.  The vest just looks so honest...he must be pious.

Whereas that dirty Dick Rod must have cheated...I mean they practiced too much and his last name is Mexican.

Why is everyone...

Why is everyone always on this guy's nuts....It's so annoying....When did it become this trendy cliche movement to always exalt this guy....Seriously, we fucking get it.  He has been with Michigan for a long time and is a good recruiter and thinks every running back is the next Barry Sanders.....

Douchebags, please come up with some new material...This is not worthy of a post.  This blog is getting so fucking trite.

Campbell will be BEAST

If there is one thing Hoke knows it's D-line.  Campbell will be a run stuffer.

Hey...Stale Geriatric

Some of us aspire to more than mediocrity.  With the rise of the BCS, and OMG, SEC we needed a change.  Like, the weight room, stadium, etc.  It was not outlandish to try to modernize the coaching as well.  It didn't work out, obviously, for a myriad of reasons, but to clamore for the "glory" years that never were is middle of the road contentment.  1 national title in half a century is kind of pathetic considering all the talent, tradition, resources, money, etc in UM football.  Forgive some of us for hoping for more that a win against OSU and the annual USC beatdown of a Big Ten team at the Rose Bowl.

Your "It wasn't so bad" mentality is what will turn UM into ND, if we are not there already.

I don't....

I don't see any coachless, recruitment destroying, Harbaugh-losing, desperate to not become Notre Dame athletic directors in there...do you?

Poop On You

I claim to love BO

But shit on alma mater

Ha, Screw You Lloyd Carr

Formerly BILG

Formerly BILG here....Same guy who 3 years ago told you Schiano wasn't coming, Les Miles deal was off the table, and RR was interviewing....all before the media outlets broke it.  Brian and many others on here can attest to this...it was fact.   No...I am not psychic.  I had a friend in the athletic department at the time, so I was always about a day ahead of the news.  Nothing to write home about, but always nice to get a head start.

According to my same friend, Dave Brandon has been incredibly tight lipped about the entire situation over the past month, and wouldn't even address the issues with close colleagues for fears of leaks, ala the Ed Martin-Les Miles debacle.  The only info available is that Brandon has been in contact with Harbaugh for over 3 weeks now.and there was an initial "committment" from both sides.  The Gator bowl game outcome would have no effect on Harbaugh to Michigan....if he wanted it, it was his, and at the time, he wanted it.  How all these new NFL offers will change the dynamic I have no info.

Word around SCHEM hall is that Harbaugh wanted to coach in the Orange Bowl and Brandon was open to it.  Hopefully the "handshake" committment holds.

I know this post is nothing new, and adds no value, but felt the need to update with what I had.  If nothing else, Brandon has done a much better job of controlling the info flow than Martin.  There are a lot of nervous people around the athletic department right now as the entire situation seem in limbo.

Maybe....

He saw us lose 37-7 to OSU and thought, shit, they kind of suck.

Stop blaming a disgruntled fanbase or DB for everything.

If we were competitive in our biggest games I doubt that the content of a bunch of blog readers and posters would have an effect on these recruits.

Bigger Big Picture....

The cyclical nature of college football....following the karmic flows, yin yang, universal balance, etc, etc has in a sense benn restored......

OSU-Mich is the ultimate rivalry, a microcosm of the balance of forces....fire-water, black-white....you get the point.

(2-10-1  Cooper) + (9-1 Vest) =  11-11-1

In a sense, it was inevitable....unfortunate, but inevitable.

Formerly BILG

Go ahead and Neg bomb away, get mad at me for being the messenger, but this is what I have heard from someone in the AD's office....

Michigan IS NOT "searching" for a new coach.

Brandon WILL meet with Harbaugh this week.

????? You say....

That was my reaction as well.  The explanation I recieved....

Given the current talent on the team and situation in the program and outside pressures, Brandon believes that either Harbaugh or RR is the best man for the job for the near and distant future.

IE....If Brandon is blown away by Harbaugh will RR may be replaced, but don't expect a public firing/ coach search.

Family Values....

Family values are important to him...He wants to play for a self proclaimed deeply spiritual coach that gives convicts a pass and has his Christian soldiers run violent dorm crusades on the student body.   A "win at all costs" coach such as RR, you know, the kind of guy that benches his All-american level QB to further protect him from a possible head injury, even when his job is pretty much on the line, is not his cup of tea.

Perhaps Blessing in Disguise?

Michigan AMSHG is focusing his wrath on our team when we already suck....Can it get much worse then its been this year....Maybe after seeing us hit rock bottom, he will get bored, and go back to burning innocent 7 year old's alive and playing poker with Hitler.  Perhaps we can fly under the radar at some point?

No thanks!

I would rather suck for 3-4 years and then be an elite program.  The days of M is for Mediocre didn't cut it for me.  Low variance football is boring and creates an underachieving team, especially when you have the resources and recruiting pull of Michigan.  How Michigan managed just one BCS bowl victory over the past 15 years with talent such as....

Tom Brady, Chad Henne, Mike Hart, Braylon Edwards, Chris Perry, Anthony Thomas, Jake Long, Alan Branch, David Harris, Leon Hall, Lamar Woodley, etc is laughable.

I would love to go back to the years of pulling in recruits like that...but would just like to actually win with them this time around.

The Jews

Blame the Jews.

Take it for what its worth

Take it for what its worth....I was formerly BILG until you all Neg bombed the crap out of me for being critical of the defense's progression.  Anyways, if you remember me, I used to have a friend in the AD who leaked some info on the coaching change and I posted it here.  That was about how Miles was offered the job and was going to accept.....This was before Herbstreit and ESPN blew up the story and shit hit the fan.  Then he leaked RR to me, but I was too afraid to post....so I just said it might be a Big East coach...and everyone assumed it was Schiano.....Anyways, this is just to try to reestablish some credibility here.....

My friend no longer works at the AD so I dont have direct inside info.  However, he is still very close with people in the facilities and there is no truth to a GERG resignation being ACCEPTED.  However, after the game last night, there were supposedly heated conversations in which GERG basically said...WTF you want me to do....resign, OK, I will resign.  RR supposedely coaxed him not to and it was just a situation of total frustration after the game.  I don't think this is really a story.  I think it was just heat of the moment bs that goes on after a disappointing loss.  How serious GERG was, I have no idea.  How valuable or valid this info is, I also have no idea.....Just relaying the limited info I have.

New Rule

While we all enjoy the blog and appreciate the efforts of Mr. Cook to create such a gret forum....

Can individuals such as yourself be banned from virtually blowing him?  We get it, we respect his opinion.  But he is not the only contributor to this blog....hence, it is a blog.  The content is mostly user generated, for better or worse.

There are numerous mods, and thousands of visitors and members sharing opinions (smart and retarded) all the time.  That is what makes a blog, and gets it all its traffic and high search rating, etc.

Brian has a sweet site, and deserves all the credit in the world for sharing his blog vision with us.  That being said, his content is often no more valuable and at times less knowledgeable than that of some of the other contributors here.

There are times (such as after a brutal loss like last night) when a post ban is necessary....but let's not jump the shark and assume Brian is the only one level-headed enough to post a coherent sentence after dong punches.  In fact...anyone this invested in Michigan football...to have created this sweet site, is probably just as, if not more emotional than the rest of us about what happened.

All that being said....After seeing the "We suck post" with the random jibberish as if someone fell asleep on the keyboard...perhaps we need a sobriety test before posts allowed.

So many ways to say the same thing...

We all see the same things and comment on them weekly....and unfortunately the plot to this movie hasn't really changed all year.  In summary,

1)  RR is an offensive genious....Yep, with all the negative that has taken place during the last 3 weeks, it can't be overlooked that this offense is amazing.  The spred works in the Big Ten.

2)  RR, by his own admission, does not spend a lot of time with the defense, nor is he that interested in it from a shematic perspective.  He chooses to allow a DC to run the show.  But when the defense is this bad, the HC is forced to take notice as it may cost him his job.

3)  The defense is young.  The secondary is decimated.  They do not seem to be getting any better.  GERG is afraid to run any blitzes and has unsuccessfully run a prevent defense all year.  As untalented and young as this defense is, UM coaches have somehow found a way to make them underachieve.

So we are left at a crossroads....

Those that say keep RR, the offense is working, he needs more time, the youth and attrition on defense is not his fault, and changing course now will throw the program back another 5 years.

Then there are those that respond, RR is ultimately responsible for the entire program, he fired Schaefer, hired GERG, and didn't recruit enough defense because he was focused on building his spread the first two years.  A defense this bad is simply "unacceptable" at Michigan.

The truth is...if we take out the extremists on both sides (Those that were anti-RR [Michigan Man Cronies] from day 1, and the RR apologists [Blaming Lloyd Carr for losses that take place into perpetuity) both camps are right.

RR has proven his offense can work in the Big Ten, but he has not  proven he can be a successful coach in the Big Ten.  So Mr. Brandon....Does he deserve more time?

Soooo

We can be like Indiana?  Have a sweet player on a shitty team.....Nice.

Right Spot?

Chasing the opponent into their endzone for a closer view of the latest TD?

Youth and suckness is not the problem...The lack of improvement is....They are getting worse!!!

Too bad

He didn't find a defensive coordinator on his trip to PSU

Worst Defense in the Country

I don't care how many underclassmen, injuries, bad luck/attrition, bs there is....That is all a good excuse to not have a good defense.  It is also an excuse to not have an average defense.  It may even be an excuse to have a bad defense.....

But the worst defense in all of college football?????

Sorry...Michigan recruits to many athletes and has too many facilities and program focus on football to be that bad on defense.  It is a disorganized, confused group of kids lacking fundamentals.  How none of these guys have been coached up over the past year or two is retarded.  Its one thing to be shitty but show improvement.  Its not like they are getting burned on post patterns all day because they are slow as shit.  We get beat on garbage....like draws and screens.  Thats coaching.  Thats recognition and contain that they lack....and it hasn't gotten better over the course of the year.

I am sick of the "haven't seen the field", young players, etc...excuses.  Again, I could accept having a bad defense....like the 80th or 90th  in the country.  Bottom 25%, fine...whatever, we can have excuses for that, rationalize away...just or unjust.....But to be the absolute worst...that takes effort my friends.  That takes a total f up.  I mean, you think Bowling Green, and Tulsa, and Eastern Michigan have the athletes on defense that Michigan does?

Sorry, the 3-4 schemes are retarded.

GERG is an RR hire....Its on him.  I love the offense, but the defense and special teams are atrocious.

Keep RR's Offense

We are totally f'd if we try to go back to a traditional offense....Defense and offense will take 2-3 years to rebuild

Big Picture...

They could run the table the rest of the year...but the loss today, not even being competitive exposed them....Good teams don't get destroyed like that...home or away...The moment was too big for the mediocre program that is MSU....

Lock Is Retarded....

Time to get Denarded....

Someone asked...what was the point of the last thead...the Schaedenfruede MSU Thread....

I think the point was....MSU has peaked, and now the Sparty / Dantonio shame spiral begins.  Their program will return to status quo mediocrity.  Congrats on peaking at #5 BCS Sparty, and running convicts onto the field.  It will be ok though, because Dantonio is a moral man with religious values....
