I watched this kids tape when I first heard we were seriously recruiting him and was immediately impressed. Surprised by how the lack of hype around him until now. Washington will be going for the flip hard for the next 6 months and this is a guy they expected to get (seems like they usually get these types of guys too).
It just seemed like sometimes, Wilton Speight needed the perfect situation to make a throw. When the play didn't go exactly as designed, he floundered.
I'm not sure how anyone can really advise or actually think the game of football will die. All you can do is try to improve it. But killing it off would be supported by who exactly??? No one is made to play? This isn't a government institution. You will always have people willing to play for money and accept the health risks. You may see degradation in quality in players if less are willing to play, especially from a young age. If the players want to play and the owners want to own and the manager want to manage, the game won't die until the public stops watching... which ummm... there are sports specifically to beat the crap out of each other.
I've been pushing the pussification of America for years. These are fucking grown men in the NFL who choose to play football for fucking millions, more than most will ever make. Not only that how many are from low income parts of society that may have gone a much more dangerous route if not for football. Football brings tons of good to those involved. Simply playing in college usually is not enough for long term serious head injury. Most of these are NFL studies. What exactly is to be gained from giving up watching football? You want to stop giving people the opportunity to CHOOSE to play football? How many people are worse off from playing than are better off????? No respect at all for the line of thinking from the OP. These are choices. This is not hunger games or the colliseum. We should also ban factories and coal mines too, I wonder how you'll feel without those... Because much more death is associated.
Sorry for being so late, but I am not exactly sure what you are arguing here. I mentioned no reason for why women can be bought, just that they could be. I also mentioned nothing of the quality of women who "commit to their vices." I have no interest in women that are primarily interested in money. You seem to agree that their are many of such women and that they exist around money, which is all I said of the matter. I can observe society without believing in what I see.
If you don't think women can be purchased you are living in a fantasy dream world. Observing realism is not at all chauvinistic. This is exactly the problem with the the US these days, the over-sensitivity of people is obnoxious and foolish. On the same line of thinking, men can be bought just as easily, however it doesn't happen nearly as often because of the society we live in.
Recruiting momentum. Means he's being lifted into a category of higher probabilities. Even Harbaugh needs momentum on the recruiting trail, if we have a few 5 stars in the class that will get a lot of press and recruits will take even more notice. Getting five stars leads to getting more fve stars.
Let me get this straight... people here are arguing that we shouldn't care about 5 stars because with poor coaching they don't work out. Interesting, yes let's take 3 stars with poor coaching, that'll work great!!!! If MSU recruited at a high level they wouldn't get worse, they'd get better. If you honestly believe the rankings don't matter, you don't understand probabilities, statistics, or math. Pointing out outliers doesn't argue anything.... Usually its better to get the best players out of high school to get the best players in college.
So yes, with a good talent evaluator (beilein, dantonio) star ratings matter a bit less because you have a higher hit rate anyway on the lower ranked players. But don't go around telling yourself Dantonio and Beliein aren't out there trying to get the higher ranked players.
What kind of coach cares if the public takes praise seriously? It's called coachspeak... Also #amaizing news is really not high praise its just a hashtag he uses for a commit. Its about the Maize. Cause its Michigan. You know cause Maize n Blue.... Maizen. Amazin....
Yes, exactly. If he praises each recruit the same, then they all come in on the same level. Recruits don't just come in and get handed a position because of their recruiting prominence, they all start out equally. So this is exactly what should be happening. Its hard for an opinion to just be wrong, but yours is absolutely wrong. Change it.
Only problem is, this isn't the NFL and those that win big in college are normally good at recruiting. Its good to keep things in context, but it seems to matter in college.
I like Adams as a prospect. Needs to put on a little muscle but watching his highlights he seems to have some real explosiveness when making tackles or plays. Seems under the radar athletic.
For anyone interested, a lot of the specifics of what really happened with Gentry is in this article. Feel free to make a post out of it, as I cannot post on the board. Its an interesting read.
Everyone seems to be leaving out Moe Ways. He may be a top 3 receiver next year. Between Ways, Darboh, Harris, Chesson, Canteen, Cole, and maybe even a little Norfleet. We should be pretty solid. Plus Damario Jones and Dukes. Someone is going to emerge. Guaranteed.

Any information on how Luiji Vilain is doing? We need to develop the WDE depth and we need pash rushers especially.
Lol, way to pull highlights from 2017, aka when that kid was 16 years old at best.

Go away.
Do people still care about rankings not called College Football Playoff Rankings?
Best offense.
Seth's team.
Best offense. Solid to very good defense. Best recievers, solid O line, best QB, solid backs with high upside.
Moe's, Homesure Lending
I actually love Draftageddon. Very educational. Its the offseason people.

Which Sources?
Dead on. Performance matters. The only reason people care is because its public. This happens to high school kids everywhere.
No way! Tha show has gotten better and better! Flowers for Charlie?!?
Your version of Michigan's identity is different than a lot of other people's version..

Little disappointed this is a discussion.
No one questions their right to do it.... They questions the reasoning for doing it. I think you took this the wrong way.
Totally right, Junior Film,

WOW.
A lot of the posters on this thread need to repent and give Sam Webb credit where credit is due.
Van Jefferson, Iman Marshall, Chris Clark, Mike Weber
My mom actually got this for me for christmas.

It's like Meth, you hope its going to be awesome, until its awful and you can't wait until its over.
The consequence would be their accuracy percentage dropping.

I like this kid, I'd be excited to get him.
Which of the two WR offers (Burnett, Jefferson) do you like better?
Yeah, he's not going to release this video and then commit elsewhere. It would be trolling USC big time. All vague sense of hope can be let go.
Now that I look at the highlights. Smith looks a good deal slower than Higdon.
I think you are right about the straight line speed, however I think Higdon makes cuts Deveon couldn't make and shows better explosion.

This guy could end up being a nasty guard!! Just runs people over.

Plus, Khalid Hill and Butt. I'm not very worried about receiver.
