I said this in another post, but I mostly DVR games due to youth football and parenting conflicts on many Saturdays. I'll continue recording every Michigan game or watching them live if it fits my schedule. Every game. I'll still do it religiously. But I'm sadly not excited about it any longer. Every Saturday from 1976-ish through the mid to late 00's, I was excited about Saturday. UM football was THE defining moment of my fall weekends. I don't feel that way any longer. But I'll still watch, mostly on DVR (the DVR bonus is fast-forwarding through stupid commercials and watching at a slightly faster pace when Notre Dame is up 31-0). It's too engrained in my soul to not watch UM football. I endured RR's year 1, so I can damn well endure anything else thrown my way. But I'm just not excited about game day any longer.
|1 day 1 hour ago||So confused||
I'm so confused and conflicted. At times, it feels like this offense is better than last year because we have some semblance of a running game and have eliminated the incessant poor damn <insert RB name> TFL running plays. But the scoreboard doesn't reflect this fact at all. I want to believe this offense is better. But the scoreboard says otherwise.

Let's also not forget the two illegal blocks on INT returns. Utah should've had more easy points after 2 INT's with very good field position that was wiped out by illegal blocks. This game could've been a lot worse than 26-10.

UM Athletic Dept. social media team working overtime. Suprised not to see a snarky "/s" in that tweet.

"No longer look forward to Saturday like I used to". This nails my sentiment directly on the head.
I will still watch games this year, but will probably record everything, watch on tape delay, and fast-forward DVR if/when things get ugly. I'm just so beaten right now. I'm not excited at all about next week, and that makes me so sad. If we even show a pulse against Utah, I'm still in. But we didn't show a pulse after halftime.
So I guess I'm at the acceptance phase. Or depression. I don't know.

Thx. Did not notice this substitution during the game, but maybe I was too nervous and toggled the DVR fast forward too quickly to make sure that we held the 17-10 lead.
Forced tape delay for me due to youth football, and I was OK with it since I didn't have to listen to the halftime analysis stating that we....ahem...underperformed in the 1st half.

And Marcus Ray is related to this issue in what way? Oh, yeah...as BTN analyst, he should've been on top of this faux pas and publicly lashed those foolish students.
[Seriously, though. This is at least the 3rd thread I've seen this comment. Someone's a little miffed about the wave.]

I hope he sticks on the practice squad.
So many TFL's last year...it was probably discomforting for him to see running lanes w/ Baltimore's OL. I envision him being very timid to hit the holes out of complete fear to know what actually existed on the other side of the offensive line.

Bossard was also epic in pre-game warmups. Jacking up half court shit and having a grand old time. 1st team all-stater with a nice stroke, though.

I dedicate this posbang to the MMB. March well. Play loudly. Your first notes of the year always cause my spine to tingle. You are an essential part of college football that makes me happy.

Lots of MMB hype marching music, followed by a mentally cleansing walk before kickoff.
Also, make sure DVR is set with +3 hour buffer at the end when youth football games overlap with M games.

Nick Sheridan shredding Minnesota was my germ of a juggernaut in 2008. Sure, moving the ball didn't equate to TD's in that game (5 K.C. Lopata FG's). But, c'mon man...Nick Sheridan shredding Minnesota has to be classified as a germ of a future juggernaut!!

It's all coming together for me now. The guns weren't superfluous. They weren't a cocky "I'm gonna get you sucker" gesture. They had meaning. Deep football meaning. I love this site.

Even though I lamented the fact that they never threw the ball, I actually did enjoy watching them learn to run the ball. It's amazing how much they learned over the course of the season, and eventually had a few "go to" plays that could be relied upon to net them some yards. Who knows...they may even start pulling guards this year!
I also worked the chain gang or scoreboard most games. It kept me focused on the game in its entirety. Very cool to be involved during the young and innocent formative years. Huge props to the coaches for dedicating a large chunk of their late summer and fall to teaching these kids the fundamentals.
