The tone of that was both

The tone of that was both incredibly exciting and completely terrifying. Saturday can't be here soon enough.

I have to root for ND. Hurts

I have to root for ND. Hurts to do, but I've had waaaaay too many State fans say our game was a contest between 2 terrible teams. I'd like to shove it back down their throats.

As a former backup goalie, I

As a former backup goalie, I find this hilarious....I used to send the student manager of our team to go get pizza for me while I sat in the box. Yet another reason why Turco is awesome.

Hearing combinations like

Hearing combinations like "Pike and Green-Beckham" makes me ridiculously excited for the possibilities of this recruiting class. Never in a million years would I have predicted that Hoke could even get people talking about this kind of stuff. Point: Hoke.

That's a shame. I always

That's a shame. I always thought he could have been really good, everything pretty much went against him his whole career. All the best to him.

Has there been any actual

Has there been any actual talk with Shannon? As far as I can tell, it's all been message board spec. Of course, I guess that figuring out who the head coach will be takes precedence.....

I'm fine with it. It's not

I'm fine with it. It's not like we've never had them before, and it'll be a good change of pace. First step, though, is to see if in a week we have a coach that even wants helmet stickers....

Why?

Why did the announcer keep actually SAYING shutout? Has he never been around a hockey game before, ever??

Games like this are the Games like this are the reason I hate watching overtime. It's almost too much- I couldn't even watch the Xavier-Kansas State basketball game a couple days ago, and I could give a crap about Xavier and Kansas State....

1. Bell's Oberon . . . 2. Everything else Then again, I'm a Kalamazoo guy, so I'm more than somewhat biased.
Ugh, Signing Day is always me Ugh, Signing Day is always me bouncing back and forth between "YES Michigan might sign so-and-so!" to "Wow I'm creepy, I'm obsessively watching 18 year olds making collegiate decisions". But yes, I agree, I'll take either, as long as we can get one. Don't really care who, both are highly rated prospects, both plays that ridiculous position of need.
The neck and neck between The neck and neck between USC, FSU and Michigan for Dorsey is kind of surprising. I haven't seen anyone (with inside info, at least) give UM any better than a "maybe he'll surprise people" kind of chance. Thanks as always, Tom.
Western has one too, it goes Western has one too, it goes something along the lines of "she sucks, she blows"...but the exact details escape me. I think everybody hates him.
I have a really funny image of Ryan giving that baby-face smile to Barwis and Barwis subsequently eating him like a snake eating a deer.
Curing the Red Wings injury Curing the Red Wings injury woes springs to mind. Video games are probably the easiest way to go, though....
Let me be clear Being faced with the choice, I think the overall experience at Yost is better. Not just the more people part, but more tradition, better team, and everyone that's NOT a student is much more into the game. And the draw of seeing a game at Western is (at least, this is what I've been told by non-WMU students) is to see the student section go crazy in a very tiny rink. I'm not saying Western is a better experience- it's not. But to go to a game where at least half of the most important fans are missing and judging every game at Lawson off of that...well, I think you should give them another chance.
I'd want to see this happen I'd want to see this happen almost entirely for the WVU fan's reactions. Not that the additional bodies on D wouldn't be nice, but the reactions would trump that.
I'm surprised at the 5/2 in I'm surprised at the 5/2 in favor of USC on Parker. If they're already stacked at safety, plus the likely loss of Carroll, I would have guessed the exact opposite. Oh well....let's hope Scout is wrong.
How likely is it that Baxter How likely is it that Baxter comes here, anyways? I've seen a lot of spec, but sine he's been committed a long time, he hasn't said much about other schools. Oh, and the answer is clearly "yes".

As a Western grad who has As a Western grad who has gotten kicked out of my fair share of hockey games there, and having seen many games at Yost, I can attest that WMU's crowds are, at the very least, as rowdy as Michigan's. Western historically has poor attendance while school isn't in session, so I'll guarantee that was the main reason for the stadium being half empty. Normally, the line for the UM game runs 3 hours deep. The cheers are similar, yeah, but you can say that about 90% of college teams around, and a few NHL teams as well (looking at you, Phoenix). Go see a game while classes are in session, I bet you have a different opinion.
Oops Double Post
Can't really agree with this. Can't really agree with this. This isn't like Brett Favre deciding to retire/unretire umpteen times "just because", this is due to perfectly valid reasons. Changing his mind overnight obviously comes off like a prima donna move, but isn't making the right choice more important than stubbornly sticking to the wrong choice? And on a completely unrelated note, Urban is a fantastic coach. Anyone who says differently really needs to look at all he's accomplished at every coaching stop he's made.
You know, while reading the You know, while reading the article I was thinking "there is no way they can snub Braylon on this", but after seeing the 2 WRs being Crabtree and Fitzgerald, I can't really argue. Braylon was amazing, but so were the 2 they chose. And if we can only have one player per program, then Long is the deserving choice.
I'm surprised Shazor isn't I'm surprised Shazor isn't getting more love here, to be honest, especially seeing as he was a competent safety and would killkillkill to have someone like him on the team now.
For a couple reasons. I never For a couple reasons. I never really jumped onto the Tebow-hate bandwagon, even though I think he's pretty overrated. I saw both play a couple times this year, and Tebow simply impressed me more. The way I see it, if Ingram switched teams with say, C.J. Spiller, is there a doubt in anyones mind that Spiller would be on the ballot instead of Ingram? My ballot isn't so much me thinking Tebow is "best player evarrrr" (he's not) as much as it is thinking Ingram simply isn't that good.
