I think the worst gift Iever got was a slinky...............when I was 28! I went to my wifes family's house and apparently they felt the need to give me a gift and didn't ahave one there so they ran to the local drug store and picked up a slinky! The thought was sincere but it was just funny becasue how do you react to opening a slinky when you are 28 yrs old. And no, it wasn't a prank gift either!
I'm sorry. I have read post after post of people saying he was a good man and this and that and it doesn't sit well with me at all . I hope he rests in peace and feel sorry for his family but he was a GOOD FOOTBALL COACH, PERIOD! You don't sit by and let what transpired happen and expect everyone to forget about it.
No, I expect my self to see the process through and make sure that there is something done about it. Not swept under the rug for 15 yrs. If you were in the same position and you did as he did would you be satisfied with the results? I think not. I feel bad for his family and for everyone that was close and lost him and I hope he rests in peace but to ignore the fact of what happened and his role in it is not fair to all the children involved and to anyone who had ever been monlested.

I like it and think that it creates a crazy game time atmosphere but what it all boils down to is the players. They seem to react and get pumped during the important times that it is played and I think it is gonna be up to them and the coaches on when and how it's used. As long as it helps them in some way why should anyone else give a damn.

Unfortunately this was like opening a package at christmas only to find out you got socks. It is useful in an everyday sense but just lacked the suprise factor I was hoping for! Oh well. Even though they can, I don't think anybody would want to have to rely on a true freshman @ receiver. Imo, there is no way they take less than 1 wr and probably end up with 2.
The only way I could positively put a spin on this for us would be that it has always sounded like he has really liked what Michigan had to offer but earlier in the process he wasn't ready to commit and they parted ways. Now, with a renewed interest, having seen the other two schools as well, the limited spots left, and the HUGE ND visit weekend, he doesn't want to miss out a second time so he is making a decision. I know that might sound crazy but if we didn't have a legitimate shot, why even announce we were back in contention to just decide the next week. I say 50/50 Michigan/PSU. Just got a feeling ND Oscar third wheel.
I am sure as well but I am also sure that all 17 year old kids change their mins at a drop of a dime. I think it is great that they are looking to see if they made the correct decision. I am just saying it should be done before a commitment is made. Not just in this instance, but any from any school. It handicaps that programs recruiting abilities moving forward because they can't realistically recruit another kid until the one who already made a commitment re-affirms it. And if they take their time and then choose elsewhere the first school is S.O.L.
I think it is great that these kids have earned the right to go on these trips and if it were my child I would completely encourage them to do so. But I would also encourage them to be cautious in committing before they were ready as well. Let me ask you a question from the schools perspective just to see your thoughts. Is it acceptable for them to offer other kids of a recruits position once he has committed and then decided to take visits?
It's like the story my dad used to tell me about when he did something wrong and his mom told him go outside and get a switch off of a tree for a whipping. Now, he got to pick it, but he knew either way he was gonna be fucked. Too small and she went and got one to her liking. Too big and he was just asking for trouble. I think OSU just picked the smallest twig they could find and once the NCAA sees it I hope they go outside and get a log to beat them with.
Its just my personal opinion, nothing substantial to back it up. It just felt to me as if his commitment was a knee jerk reaction due to a few factors including what you mentioned. He has friends here, the class was filling up at a fast rate, and I'm sure he was feeling some sort of rush, intentional or not, from the staff. I hope I'm wrong and he stays blue till the end. It just wouldn't surprise me to see him at least entertain some teams willing to make a hard push for him.
I am interested to hear some updates on Terry Richardson. More interested in his responses regarding Michigan than I am in seeing how he does at the event. He just seems like, from previous commments, that he may be one to watch with schools continuing to recruit him. I hope he stays blue because with him, Gant, Standifer, and hopefully Wilson by the end of the week, that this could be a very good secondary class.
I would say that it is just an oversight by the ranking sites as to why they still list him at a lower weight. I have read more than once from more than one source that he has grown about an inch and gained the weight. We all know those sites aren't quick to update rankings, much less a players physical stats.
I wonder how serious of an option Garmon is now with NC receiving their NOA. They were listed as his favorite but maybe that has changed now. I think his recruitment could be one to keep an eye on.

It has been said by Trieu to pay no attention to his 2 star rating or his offer sheet because he had such a growth spurt over the last year and grid just now starting to hit the camp circuit. It is more than likely that once they do the next re-evaluations he will be bumped up by most if not all the sites. I am willing to bet if he does not accept this greyshirt/scholly offer that he would have gotten a f ew BCS level offers.
I was thinking the same thing. Recruiting is going great but it seems to have made a lot of fans seem to think we will get anyone we decide to go after and it is a foregone conclusion that we will get Diamond and Kalis so we should slow play some recruits regarded as lower talent. The only thing I would be worried is that the coaches slow play them, they go elsewhere, and then we lose out on the more heralded kids as well.
Where are you located Six? Sounds like you might be somewhere where there may be a little favoritism for OSU. Every account I have heard had Poole and Heintzman as big contributors. Just wondering if the local paper is not giving them credit due to them being headed for the good guys.
