Hahahahahaha, Im Brady Hoke Bitch!!

Great pick

Thought he'd pull the trigger eventually but not this soon. This class is starting to come together. Note on the Scholarship issue, I have a strong feeling we' re going to lose a few players before the season starts, most notably one or two of our younger slot recievers. Everytime Hoke talks about the player turnover (or lack of ) he always sounds like he expects a few players to leave when its all said and done. Should open up a few more spots. Either way Im excited about the potential of this class.

First off Very happy about

First off Very happy about the new "Hello", now secondly Im in  a tuff spot, I live in Cali and just find out (yesterday) I no longer have the BTN on my plan. I know usually anything of slight interest about Michigan Football makes its way to the internet with a link. However, I've missed all the spring practice episodes, which were on FS Detroit and can't find any links to them, and I don't want to miss the Scrimmage (not just the highlights) on Sat. So...... Is there anyone out there who can assure me with 100% confidence that the Whole Scrimmage will be up online somewhere relatively soon or do I need to call Direct TV tonight and pay a ton to pick it up by tomorrow. Someone help me out, Go Blue!!

Practice on TV/ Spring game

Hey I live in California, I just want to know if anyone out there knows where I can catch the Spring practices (on FS Detroit, I'd really like to see those) or the spring game. Don't know if they re online, the BTN, or if there are any links. Plese let me know thanks.

Not going to lie, I caught

Not going to lie, I caught myself smiling with excitement multiple times. Wasn't a big fan of the hire before, but I'll be able to sleep a lot better now. In short, watch the presser.

Avery Wall to Cal. thats a

Avery Wall to Cal. thats a downer.

Not trying to be that guy,

Not trying to be that guy, just figured people wanted to know but Avery Wall just committed to Cal.

"Hello" Baby!!

Always love a "Hello". This is a kid that will take full advantage of the weight room and mask any "so called" lack of talent with effort and hardwork. Everyteam needs players like him, can't wait to see how he turns out.

Will DB please just say RR is

Will DB please just say RR is coming back so i can finally write something on here without getting points taken away.....

Oh and thats your cue to take

Oh and thats your cue to take the points because their coming right back.

Well I figured that much,

Well I figured that much, lets see if i get any back when it happens.......

Denard at 100%

If your defense isn't great than you re going to have to push those scores up a little bit. You guys will definitely score against us but we will do like wise. Its going to be a shoot out baby!! Can you say "Denard at 100%" because I can, no but seriously, should be a pretty good game.

Yeah, but......

WIS is one of the best if not the best running offenses in the nation and Im going to bet that their OL isn't as good as WIS either. Not saying that we're great against the run, but I will agree that playing a team with a QB who isn't known for his passing abilities is definitely a good thing. This is RR's last chance at keeping his Team so I would imagine we're going to see everything he's got. Here hoping we get the win!!

How did you get 3 points for

How did you get 3 points for saying DG will/might start next year? I lost 9 when I said it. Anyways, agreed.

Is there anything new with

Is there anything new with the Dee Hart situation. I know it was said somewhere that the coaches were going to give him a visit. Is he just rumored to favoring Alabama or has he actually said it?

Not sure if its more complex,

Not sure if its more complex, I just think everyone is looking into it way to much. Remember DB has said from the beginning that he would wait till the end of the season to do evaluations, he said it again when we were winning and had a 5-0 record, and again at the end of the season. DB has never publicly put RR on the hot seat and that is why he is sticking to his comments.

There isn't anything anyone can say here ( unless it is coming from DB himself) that will cause me to believe RR will or will not be back next year. The fact of the matter is we re all just going to have to wait and see.

not a fact

It just depends on which site you re looking at, ESPN has us with 3 4star defensive recruits, but again just relax. This happens every year and yet some how people forget the process. HS football is now over which means recruiting will pick and we'll start to see more Hellos. Just be patient and let the process play out over the next few months.

Ok but thats not a valid

Ok but thats not a valid argument because its a case that can't be proven. What if Penn State takes Alabama off (a game they lost) and Purdue takes ND off (a game they lost). Now you've just added a win to the conference. There are way to many "what if's" with that argument. Im not saying records are concrete evidence for who is better, however between following/watching the Big Ten, living in Califorina and having to watch alot of Pac-10 (because thats whats on), and using records, I would say that the Big Ten has a slightly better conference from top to bottom.

I think Big Ten wins this year

Well here are the standing of both conferences

Pac-10                                               BIG TEN

*Oregon                       11-0             Wisconsin                11-1

Stanford                       11-1             Ohio State                11-1

*Arizona                        7-4              Michigan State         11-1

USC                              7-5               Iowa                           7-5

*Oregon State             5-6               Penn State               7-5

*Washington               5-6               Michigan                   7-5

*Arizona State             5-6               Northwestern           7-5

California                     5-7               *Illinois                     6-5

*UCLA                          4-7               Indiana                     5-7

*Washington State    2-9               Purdue                      4-8

                                                           Minnesota                3-9

(*) denotes team with 1 game remaining in regular season.

Bases solely on this information (because that's all the time I'm willing to put into this argument) it looks like the Big Ten is do better this year. And even though the Pac-10 has more regular season games left, they're all in conference, so while one team gets better another gets worst.

The game not the season

Yeah I was definitely referring to the game, not the season as a whole. I've been in support of this Team (and yes that includes RR) all year and will continue doing so as long as there is someone running out that tunnel with the winged helmet on. But I say that game was as ugly as it gets because we simply played poorly against a very good team and in doing so looked much worse than the score would indicate, not to mention how it hurts RR case to stick around. Again going into the game I figured RR was safe for another year and that it would take a serious beating before DB would feel any type of real pressure from the school, alum, etc. to get rid of him. Well that looked like a serious beating to anyone who wants RR gone. I just hope this team can regroup and figure things out because if this happens in the bowl game he really might be done.

This was as ugly as it gets

This was as ugly as it gets and hurts just as much. I was pretty damn confident that RR would be coming back next year, before this one, now Im just nervous for the program. We'll see what DB does in Jan. until then, it looks like thats pretty much all we'll have to talk about over the next month. Im sure thats not going to get old. Hey, maybe we'll get a "Hello" or two to ease the pain.

Still at it......

Are people really still trying to get their point across, With over 400 comments theres a pretty good chance it'll get over looked, Im just saying it might not be worth your time.

+1 sir

Congratz you are the first person to recieve a point from me ever, now that might have something to do with the fact that I just learned how give points, none the less you are still the first. I hope this moment rates up there with your first lay, first child, and your first "I told you so" post when RR brings this team to greatness.

I think we all just need to count to 10

Man I hope we get some "Hellos" soon, there's so much hate in the posts below.

A little on Mr. Hayes

I got the chance to coach against Grand Blanc and have seen Hayes run, also have a friend who follows the program so I've heard alot about this kid for that last 3 years. I think he has the same body type as Shaw (although I see Sr. Hayes being bigger than Sr. Shaw) and has good football speed, but he's definitely not as fast as him. However the thing that has MI wanting Hayes is his cut back ability and vision in the spread offense (he's been a starter since his So. year). I think this is a great pick up for the future but I wont be surprised if Hayes doesn't see the field much if at all next year. He has a really nice frame so a year in the system and off-season program should do wonders for him. Oh and he's staying on Offense and if for what ever reason he got moved to Defense, its not going to be at CB, most likely SS, again he has speed just not CB speed. At the end of the day, Im very excited to see him choose Blue, he has a bright future.

Hows your kicking game?

Hows your kicking game?

really?

The skinny on my post above is that I believe Devin will start to become more involved in the offense next year eventually taking over as the Primary QB down the road. RR and every player on the team as well as his roommate Denard has praised Devin ( a 5 star athlete) on his work ethic,  and athletic abilities. I honestly believe RR's goal was to get him more involved this year, why else do you waste a RS year when you have a more than capable back in Tate to go in for a few plays. If you don't believe Devin plays an important role next year I can understand that. Again the post was an opinion of mine, but real classy on the moron comment. Tate was going to be the for sure starter in 2010 once the season was over last year, right? RR has said before he wants the most talent on the field playing not sitting on the sidelines.

His size won't matter in the future.

Size not a big deal, and this is by NOOOOOO means a knock on him, but I just dont see him being our PRIMARY QB in the future. I think we will start to see his Transition to RB/WR/ Player Maker next year with Devin running the show, and the key word here is Transition. If you really listen to what RR says about the team you can start to read between the lines. Last year when Tate was on Top of the world, RR ALWAYS mentioned Denard (whether he did anything at all) and talked about how good of an athlete he was, not to count him out, just needs experience, ect. You always just had a feeling that RR knew Denard could run his system much better than Tate. skip forward to 2010 spring practice and fall camp and you start to hear the hype with Devin and his skill set (most notably his touch on deep balls). Then the season starts and Denard is Gods gift to College Football (not being sarcastic) and what do you know Devin is 2nd string behind Denard and is getting mentioned even though he really didn't do anything. Now I know its been a while since Devin has been mentioned but I think that has to do more with his back problems.

Now if we fast forward to next season, Devin is alittle bigger, faster, smarter and has a year in the system under his belt. I think we start to see Devin more at QB (Probably not opening day starter) with Denard somewhere else on the field and lets not forget about D. Hart. With Devin's passing abilities and Denard / Hart's running abilities you can really open up the play book. Worst case senario you move Denard back to QB.

This is simply my opinion, based off of the things I've heard RR say, the why he talks about all his players, and the fact that if Denard wants to play in the NFL its not going to be at QB and he definitely has the skill set to play something in the NFL. Hart is an early enrollee and if he makes the transition to college football early like most believe he can (also better production from our other backs who will all be healthy), its going to take a lot of pressure off our need to run our QBs so much. Remember Pat White was a pretty damn good QB and he didn't need to run as much as Denard has. By putting Devin at QB you take away some athleticism at the postion, but you add a playmaker on the field and open up the play book. You don't have to agree but just think about it and start listening to the things RR says when spring ball rolls around.

no block is my guess

Not sure if its the case here, but alot of HS kickers use a block for FGs, and some have a hard time adjusting to not being able to use the block in College. My guess is thats whats going on. The problem is he may never get used to it, which means its pretty much a wasted Scholarship. RR keeps talking about the low kicks, which is a big sign that he just isn't used to not having the block and isn't getting underneath the ball.

I thought that was about Cox?

I thought that was about Cox?

Demans is ok

Definitely not mad at Demans side-step to avoid contact. We have seen Demans take on contact to stuff holes and redirect plays, so we know that part of his game isn't a problem. Also the play was away from him so taking on the Tackle would have done nothing to help with stopping the play. I look at the play and see Demans making a great move, then hustling to help with the play. Im still not sure if Demans was out of position to begin with, however even if he was, what he does after is what will make him a better LB. Being out of postion on a few plays as a first year started with only 3 starts under your belt is something you can fix, lack of hustle and heart isn't, and I don't think we have to worry about the later of the two.

I'll be that guy

Ok so I'll be THAT guy for this one. Cam was not running out of breath as you put it, in fact if you look at the play again you will see that not only is Patterson in full stride when Cam picks up the ball, but he quickly loses his lead (a lead he held onto for a about 3 yards), as Cam passes him and is in the endzone first. I'm pretty sure his "Keep Running" comments were made from surprise/ celebration. Anyways check it out for yourself if you'd like.

here's every defensive snap, the play happens at 1:25 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fP4Fl3RwHf8

Not cocky, no one in D-1

Not cocky, no one in D-1 football should ever have 83 points put up on them.

Oh Boy!!

I just dont see how we stop WIS's Offense. They're a hell of lot bigger than us, with experience, a more than capable QB, and a few RBs who can do different things. I think they're a much better team than OSU and if we're not healthy, things will get pretty ugly real quick.

However,  Im a big believer in the idea that any thing can happen in College Football, but we're going to need some help from the Football Gods to pull this one off. I'm just praying that we're at least healthy going into this game just so we have a fighting chance. The last two games were nice but they weren't Michigan Magic worthy, If we pull this one out, we'll be talking about it as one of the great ones, and that is why I'll be watching on Sat.

I stand corrected, rushed

I stand corrected, rushed through the scores and got the loses mixed up. 185 ppg in 5 B10, 37ppg, with only 2 seniors starting (only one at the moment). I'll still take that.

Oh and my Math was right, the number was wrong.

Tate not as good, but still ok with me

What Tate does is completely change the way the defense has to attack the offense because he is a better passer. I think the reason why he is having so much success when he comes in is because the defense has to adjust on the fly, instead of preparing for him all week. Tate looks good when he gets in, however with a full week to prepare against him I don't see him running the offense as good as Denard. What RR is talking about, when he said the offense can get better is that Denard isn't hitting the passing game like he could be, whereas this is an area that Tate is probably ahead of Denard in. Either way Im glad we have Tate as a back up because even if he's not a playmaker like Denard, he's still capable of putting points on the board.

I take it that was a Joke?

This offense has put up 222 points in 5 B10 games, thats 44.4 points per game, with a defense that never gives them good field position and rarely gives them the ball back. In fact their ppg are higher against B10 opponents then non-B10 opponents. Clearly you were joking, right?

Can't wait for the Hart

The quick adjustments on offense are great, but wait until we get D. Hart in next year, we won't even need to make an adjustment, he'll simply jump cut to the outside and its a TD. How do you make a top 5 offense better, give it a Hart Transplant and watch it shine.

D. Arnett commits to Tenn.

D. Arnett commits to Tenn.

I feel ya

I did the same thing last week, missed the last 8 mins of the game because it stopped recording. I went ahead and added 2hours to this weeks recording just to be safe and I sure as hell am glad I did.

Its a good day.

Michigan wins and I  just found out that I dont have to go into work for my "on call" shift. I think that calls for a drink of some sort. Go Blue!!

I think the most sickening

I think the most sickening thing is the fact that the 3-3-5 is designed to be able to blitz from anywhere on the field and confuse the offense, however GERG has pretty much done the exact opposite all year. I ran this defense as a HS DC and coming into the year I was more excited than anyone because I know how well it can work (when ran properly). Now all I can do is shake my head.

I'll take average Floyd over

I'll take average Floyd over a true freshman who hasn't proven much ( 8 games into the season) and without Martin in there you're just making the secondary cover for even longer. So whether or not the true freshman steps up we probably won't notice because the pass rush will be nonexistent. Im just hoping we win the toss and score early to give ourselves a chance, if not, it's going to be a long game, again.

Really?!

Well lets see it was early in the season, the true freshman were still learning one postion, RS freshmen were still learning one postion, It wasn't clear that things weren't working ( in fact if anything it looked like things would only get better), there wasn't a bye week to try things out without screwing over any chance of a serious game plan, and oh we weren't good enough to sub in 2nd or 3rd strings ( at the time). I dont know pick one of those.

I think he was just healthy

I think he was just healthy enough to play but wasn't at a level where he would help the defense, more of an emergency player. After the bye though I have to imagine hes full go.

Overlooked in MI

Read some of the above posts. But to add to them, MI high school football Definitely gets over shaddowed and overlooked by a lot of other states because of the "Competition" issue. Unless a kid is playing for a good team or is just oozing talent they will get overlooked or turn into a Sleeper. If you take this kid and put him on a team down south, he probably gets more attention.

hahaha

you guys are too funny.

Yeah, but

Here are your outcomes to 1) and 2); 1) Gardner is actually hurt and gets a RS. Or 2) Gardner isn''t actually hurt, however you'll never know that because you're not RR or Gardner so instead you'll believe he's actually hurt and either way he gets a RS. The real world sucks......      or does it?

Mr. Woolfolk

Woolfolk will be at FS next year with Cam, Ray V. and any incoming freshman backing him up. My guess is that in 2012 someone other than Cam wins the starting spot and Cam gets moved to another position after he's bulked up to around 215-220lbs. Will he ever start again maybe yes, maybe no, but thats college football for ya.

Unless Cam finds some hidden

Unless Cam finds some hidden speed or an incoming freshmen comes in as a complete Stud, I just don't see Wolfolk playing anything other than FS. At corner we have athletes who are just lacking experience, which won't be as big a problem next year. We'll have three sophomores (who have all played this year) fighting for one spot. At FS we have athletes who lack experience and/or speed. The more I watch Cam the more I realize he's just not fast enough to play that position. Let Wolfolk play FS and now you have younger players learning under an experienced Sr. who's actually pretty good.
