I did a cashout 3.125% /0.875 points refi at a credit union.  I applied last Thurs night.  The credit union was then quoting 3.125%/0.875% points, but in the morning I held off when the loan officer asked me if I wanted to lock as the 10 year US Treasury had fallen from 0.92% the night before to 0.75%.  I ended up locking Tuesday morning at the same rate after seeing no change in the credit union's rate in spite of the 10 year falling as low as ~0.30% intraday and closing around 0.50%.

At the same credit union, I see the quote has now changed to 3.25%/0.25% points.

And these 18-22 year olds…

And these 18-22 year olds would almost surely recover/be fine, unless they have some immunodeficiency.  Same with the NBA players.

Like anyone else, however, they can become carriers and propagate its transmission, which inevitably would mean transmission to more seniors.

Given that they've already traveled and interacted with hotel & food staff, I'm guessing the marginal risk of playing the games would be minimal.  But perhaps it's valuable as a symbolic act of a voluntary quarantine; these types of actions taken by everyone going forward will slow the spread.

For those like Simpson & Teske, giving up your last Tourney, that's taking one for the team.

I've been paying attention…

I've been paying attention to all of the common points of touch at the office--door handles, the coffee pot, etc.

I'm carrying around some folding paper towels to avoid common touch points.  The paper towels are like toilet paper--there's a dirty side you don't want to touch.  (I have to admit, I've accidentally touched the dirty side a few times.  D'oh!)

Sorry trees, but you're going to have to take one for the team until this passes.

Looking at Lunardi NCAA…

Looking at Lunardi NCAA Tourney projections, I see Michigan has a higher KenPom rating than at least two teams from seeds 2 on down.

Staying out of an 8/9 game will be valuable, as the projected top seeds are all at the top of the KenPom rankings,  Also, Michigan's current #11 20.72 rating would have ranked #17 last year.

TB10's intangibles were off…

TB10's intangibles were off the charts.  Voracious appetite for preparation, great decision-maker, natural leader, smart.  Physical skills, not so much at the combine.  But subsequently, he put in the work to make them adequate.

I remember Jaworski reviewing his first NFL performance after Bledsoe got hurt.  He couldn't believe the decision-making he saw.  Called it Top 5 QB decision-making in game 1.

I don't think those B1G Co…

I don't think those B1G Co-Championship hopes were at all distant while Minnesota had the game in hand. Had Minny won:

MD 5 losses, 6th loss vs Mich, one more vs MSU or @Rutgers
PSU 6 losses, @Iowa, vs MSU (or @NW, not likely)
MSU 6 losses, @MD, @PSU, vs OSU
Ill 6 losses, @NW (not likely) vs Ind, @OSU, vs Iowa
Wiscy, 6 losses, 7th loss vs Mich (also plays vs Minn, vs NW, @Ind)

Now we need Sparty to beat MD for a chance.  I say it's still worth holding our nose for a shot at a banner.  However, hoping Sparty will win at the onset is not mutually exclusive with switching to Sparty NOOOOoooo!!!! should a Terps win become apparent.

It occurred to me while…

It occurred to me while watching Maryland go on a 14-0 run to come from behind to beat MSU that we might come to regret it.  (But I rooted for it anyway.)  If Maryland was sitting on four losses now, and facing a sure loss on March 8, losing two more might not be so unlikely.  But Maryland losing three in addition to its guaranteed 3/8 loss is probably not going to happen.

Anyone who follows boxing

Pay-per-view has really narrowed boxing's audience.

When I was growing up, only the monster matchups (e.g. Ali-Frazier) were pay-per-view.

I remember watching many of Ali's, Leon Spinks', and Larry Holmes' title fights on network TV.  The casual boxing fan didn't have to go out of his way (and $$) to follow it.

The field in this year's…

The field in this year's tournament will not have any heavy favorites like in past years.  Usually, the 538 site (most user friendly) gives about a 50% chance for one of the top ~three teams to win it.  (Off the top of my head.)

This year, the odds difference between #1 and (say) #10 will be the lowest it's been in a long, long time.

Why not Michigan?
